This paper investigates the performances of terahertz-wave parametric oscillators (TPOs) based on the LiNbO3 crystal at different pump wavelengths.The calculated results show that TPO characteristics,including the frequency tuning range,the THz-wave gain and the stability of THz-wave output direction based on the Si-prism coupler,can be significantly improved by using a short-wavelength pump.It also demonstrates that a long-wavelength-pump allows the employment of a short TPO cavity due to an enlarged phase-matching angle,that is,an increased angular separation between the pump and oscillated Stokes beams under the THz-wave generation at a specific frequency. The study provides an useful guide and a theoretical basis for the further improvement of TPO systems. 展开更多

Simultaneous all-solid-state multi-wavelength lasers——a promising pump source for generating highly coherent terahertz waves 被引量:1

A diode-end-pumped Nd:YAG dual-wavelength laser operating at 1319 and 1338 nm is demonstrated. The maximum average output power of the quasi-continuous wave linearly polarized dual-wavelength laser is obtained to be 2.1 W at a repetition rate of 50 kHz with an output power instability of less than 0.38% and beam quality factor M^2 of 1.45. Using the two lines, the highly coherent and narrow linewidth terahertz radiation of 3.23 THz can be generated in an organic 4-N, N-dimethylamino-methyl-stilbazolium tosylate (DAST) crystal. Meanwhile, the multi-wavelength red laser at 659.5, 664 and 669 nm is generated by frequency doubling and sum frequency processes in a lithium triborate (LBO) crystal. The average red laser output power is enhanced up to 1.625 W at a repetition rate of 15 kHz with an output power instability of better than 0.53% and beam quality factor M^2 of 6.05. Using the three lines, it is possible to generate the multi-wavelength THz radiation of 3.3, 3.43 and 6.73 THz in an appropriate difference frequency crystal. 展开更多

In this article, we use both Gaussian and Lorentz approximation to investigate the gain properties of multi pumping broadband Raman amplifier, and present some schemes for flattening the gain. All the results show that the flatness of the gain spectrum is closely related to the pumping frequency grid. By researching the gain properties of Raman amplifiers of such ITU-T fibers as G.652, G.653, G.655 and large effective area non zero dispersion flattening fiber, we find that the Raman gain is associated with the fiber type and its transmission characteristics, especially it decreases with the increase of the effective core area. 展开更多

Multi-wavelength continuous-wave self-Raman laser with an a-cut composite YVO4/Nd:YVO4/YVO4 crystal pumped by an 879-nm wavelength-locked laser diode is demonstrated for the first time.Multi-wavelength Raman lasers at 1168.4,1176,1178.7,and 1201.6 nm are achieved by the first Stokes shift of the multi-wavelength fundamental lasers at 1064,1066.7,1073.6,1084,and 1085.6 nm with two Raman shifts of 890 and 816 cm^-1.A maximum Raman output power of 2.56 W is achieved through the use of a 20-mm-long composite crystal,with a corresponding optical conversion efficiency of 9.8%.The polarization directions of different fundamental and Raman lasers are investigated and found to be orthogonalπandσpolarizations.These orthogonally polarized multi-wavelength lasers with small wavelength separation pave the way to the development of a potential laser source for application in spectral analysis,laser radar and THz generation. 展开更多

传统的固体激光器体积、重量大,功耗高,限制了其在空间受限设备中的应用。被动调Q的LD泵浦免温控固体激光器省去了复杂的温度控制装置,调Q机构简单,能够满足复杂温度环境的特殊应用场景的小型化、低功耗要求。提出了基于双波长LD泵浦实... 传统的固体激光器体积、重量大,功耗高,限制了其在空间受限设备中的应用。被动调Q的LD泵浦免温控固体激光器省去了复杂的温度控制装置,调Q机构简单,能够满足复杂温度环境的特殊应用场景的小型化、低功耗要求。提出了基于双波长LD泵浦实现宽温度范围免温控阈值自适应的1.06μm激光脉冲输出方法。基于Nd∶YAG晶体设计了角锥棱镜谐振腔,仿真分析了LD泵浦源到激光棒的面心距对热负载的影响,并确定4 mm的最佳面心距。数值分析了相同泵浦功率下-40~60℃温度范围内激光静态能量输出变化,以及不同初始透过率的可饱和吸收体对激光阈值脉宽的影响。计算结果表明在-37℃~60℃范围内,阈值脉宽都在200μs以下,阈值脉宽最低点达到了29.4μs。构建主波实时探测的阈值自适应调节装置并搭建实验系统,实验结果表明,在温度范围为-35~60℃时,阈值脉宽变化范围为40~180μs。采用激光腔体一体加工成型,应用轻量化的铝合金材料,实现工程化应用,体积83.5 mm×44 mm×29.5 mm,重量约为230 g。在23.8%初始透过率的饱和吸收体条件下实现单脉冲输出能量42 mJ,脉冲宽度5.2 ns。 展开更多

本文利用双波长泵浦(DWP)技术建立了3.5μm Er∶ZBALN光纤激光器及光纤放大器的理论模型。研究了光纤不同参数下激光器及放大器的能级粒子数动力学行为及沿光纤长度上光功率分布特征,计算分析了光纤长度、输出端反射率、铒离子掺杂浓度... 本文利用双波长泵浦(DWP)技术建立了3.5μm Er∶ZBALN光纤激光器及光纤放大器的理论模型。研究了光纤不同参数下激光器及放大器的能级粒子数动力学行为及沿光纤长度上光功率分布特征,计算分析了光纤长度、输出端反射率、铒离子掺杂浓度对于3.5μm激光功率的影响。研究结果显示了光纤长度、输出端反射率存在的最佳范围,高掺杂铒离子浓度光纤相对于低掺杂仅需要较低的976 nm泵浦功率即可实现有效的3.5μm激光输出,且高掺杂浓度下的交叉驰豫过程能阻止猝灭行为,模拟实现了3.5μm光纤激光的高效放大。数值模拟结果对3.5μm激光振荡器及高功率放大的参数设计具有指导意义。 展开更多

超宽调谐(2.6~5μm)中红外皮秒脉冲激光的研究

在超快脉冲激光中,超宽调谐通常应用于超连续谱产生、光谱分析和调制等多个领域。文章利用皮秒脉冲同步泵浦技术,搭建了一种基于MgO:PPLN晶体的“Z”形光参量振荡器,通过具有扇形周期极化的晶体在中红外波段产生了高功率、波长超宽调谐(... 在超快脉冲激光中,超宽调谐通常应用于超连续谱产生、光谱分析和调制等多个领域。文章利用皮秒脉冲同步泵浦技术,搭建了一种基于MgO:PPLN晶体的“Z”形光参量振荡器,通过具有扇形周期极化的晶体在中红外波段产生了高功率、波长超宽调谐(2.6~5μm)的皮秒脉冲激光源输出。该振荡器由五镜一晶体组成,这五镜片的选择和精确调整是提高光参量振荡器输出性能的关键因素,采用波长为1.064μm的Nd:YVO_(4)皮秒脉冲激光源,选择周期在26~32μm可调谐的MgO:PPLN晶体,最大泵浦功率为15W时,2.66μm、3.44μm和4.99μm处获得了最大输出功率分别为3.41W、2.78W和0.52W的闲频光,相应的光-光转换效率分别为58%、55%、15%,测量到中红外光谱谱宽为2.37nm(2615nm)、Δλ=1.87nm(3687nm)、Δλ=1.30nm(4992nm),观察到在没有任何窄化光学元件条件下长脉冲随波长光谱谱宽具有线性变窄的过程。在2.6~4.5μm波段的激光输出功率均大于1W,实现了高功率,波长超宽调谐的中红外皮秒激光的连续输出。窄谱宽超宽调谐中红外皮秒脉冲激光为超快过程研究和应用领域提供了一种强大的工具。通过优化波长调谐范围和脉冲宽度能够满足不同领域对中红外激光的高要求,对推动相关领域的研究和发展至关重要。 展开更多

Optical properties of ytterbium-doped tandem-pumped fiber oscillator

With the rapid development of ytterbium-doped fiber lasers, some obtrusive limitations on power scaling appeared. In order to avoid these problems, a scheme called tandem pumping is introduced into the fiber laser field. In this paper, the optical properties of an ytterbium-doped tandem-pumped fiber oscillator are presented. According to the oscillator profile, the proper gain fiber type and pump wavelength range are picked out, under the comprehensive consideration of laser conversion efficiency and beam quality. In addition, the photodarkening performances of tandem pumping lasers and conventional ones are compared based on practical application, with all possible impact parameters taken into account. Moreover, an all-fibered tandem-pumped oscillator centered at 1079.5 nm is built, in the way of clad pumping by a 1030-nm fiber laser. The laser power of the oscillator reaches 7 W, with an opto-optic efficiency of 82.4%. 展开更多

The output characteristics of a narrow linewidth, no-gain competition, dual-wavelength solid-state laser using an intra-cavity pumped method are reported. This system consists of an intra-cavity pumped Nd:YVO4 laser emitting at 1064 nm, using a 912 nm Nd:GdVO4 laser. A Fabry-Perot etalon is used to compress the linewidth that located at the common cavity of 912 nm and 1064 nm laser. Theoretical analysis and experimental verification were carried out. When the pump power is 32.8 W, the output of 912 nm and 1064 nm theoretical value is 0.036 W and 0.046 W, and the experimental value is 0.017 W and 0.016 W, respectively. The change trend of the theoretical simulated output power value was the same as the actual measured value in the experiment. In addition to this, the experimental measurement shows when the etalon with an angle of 15?, corresponding minimum linewidths were 0.284 nm and 0.627 nm, respectively. 展开更多

研制了一种结构简单的LD端面泵浦2.94μm Er:YAG连续激光器。该激光器采用双端键合YAG端帽方式降低了晶体的端面温度。泵浦源采用小芯径的输出光纤和非球面镜耦合系统,减小了小泵浦光斑在晶体中的发散速度,并提高了泵浦均匀性。当泵浦... 研制了一种结构简单的LD端面泵浦2.94μm Er:YAG连续激光器。该激光器采用双端键合YAG端帽方式降低了晶体的端面温度。泵浦源采用小芯径的输出光纤和非球面镜耦合系统,减小了小泵浦光斑在晶体中的发散速度,并提高了泵浦均匀性。当泵浦光波长为969.7 nm时,Er:YAG晶体前段对泵浦光的吸收较弱,因此激光器增益介质前端热聚集效应得到了缓解。通过热像仪在实验中对键合和非键合Er:YAG晶体端面温度进行观测对比,并使用COMSOL软件对激光器热分布进行了模拟分析,证明了上述措施对减小高掺杂Er:YAG晶体热效应的有效性。最终成功实现了155 mW的2.94μm连续激光输出。另外还观测到激光器输出波长随泵浦功率增加的红移现象并对其在能级跃迁层面进行了理论解释。 展开更多

为了实现激光器在一定温度范围内LD泵浦源免温控稳定工作,具有较高并且稳定的泵浦光吸收效率,分析了DPL激光器中LD发射谱和Nd:YAG增益介质吸收谱的特点及匹配问题,据此提出了一种激光器免温控泵浦源的多波长选择理论和方法,同时增加泵... 为了实现激光器在一定温度范围内LD泵浦源免温控稳定工作,具有较高并且稳定的泵浦光吸收效率,分析了DPL激光器中LD发射谱和Nd:YAG增益介质吸收谱的特点及匹配问题,据此提出了一种激光器免温控泵浦源的多波长选择理论和方法,同时增加泵浦光吸收长度克服Nd:YAG吸收谱和LD波长失配的不利影响。优化设计了一个波长为802.35 nm@25℃、813.15 nm@25℃和810.95 nm@25℃的三波长LD泵浦方案,计算结果表明:在一定吸收长度下,多波长泵浦光吸收效率可达73.96%,并且在-15.7~65.7℃宽温度波动范围内,激光器输出能量不稳定度优于5%。同时还模拟分析了增益介质吸收长度和掺杂浓度对泵浦光吸收效率的影响。 展开更多
