Comparison of COSMIC Radio Occultation Refractivity Profiles with Radiosonde Measurements 被引量:4

In recent years, radio occultation (RO) technology making use of global positioning system (GPS) signals has been exploited to obtain profiles of atmospheric parameters in the neutral atmosphere. In this paper, the RO refractivity profiles obtained from the Constellation Observing System for Meteorology, Ionosphere and Climate (COSMIC) mission are statistically compared with the observations of 38 radiosonde stations provided by the Australian Bureau of Meteorology during the period from 15 July 2006 through 15 July 2007. Different collocation criteria are compared at first, and COSMIC RO soundings that occur within 3 hours and 300 km of radiosonde measurements are used for the final statistical comparison. The overall results show that the agreements between the COSMIC refractivity profiles and the radiosonde soundings from the 38 stations are very good at 0-30 km altitude, with mean absolute relative refractivity deviations of less than 0.5%. Latitudinal comparisons indicate that there are negative refractivity deviations in the lower troposphere over the low latitude and middle latitude regions and large standard deviations exist in the lower troposphere of low latitude regions, which can reach up to ~6%. The comparisons of COSMIC RO refractivity profiles and radiosonde observations for 3 polar stations in four different seasons indicate that the accuracy of GPS RO profiles is better in the Austral summer and autumn than in the Austral spring and winter during the year from September 2006 to August 2007. 展开更多

When coexisting with dual-link primary systems,secondary systems in cognitive radios should first distinguish between the primary downlinks and uplinks in order to efficiently explore their respective spectrum opportunities.Because of the assumptive prior knowledge about the time-frequency locations of primary downlinks and uplinks,this procedure is usually not considered in the design of cognitive radios.In this paper,a cooperative method is proposed for the downlink/uplink identification of time-division duplex-based orthogonal frequency-division multiple access systems.In this method,the power level of the primary link is extracted as the key feature,which also contributes to the subsequent cognitive behaviours.The effects of the primary and secondary systems and the effects of the detection parameters on the identification accuracy are all analysed in detail.The simulation results show that the proposed method can identify the primary links precisely and quickly with low complexity. 展开更多

Spectrum sensing is a key technology for cognitive radios.We present spectrum sensing as a classification problem and propose a sensing method based on deep learning classification.We normalize the received signal power to overcome the effects of noise power uncertainty.We train the model with as many types of signals as possible as well as noise data to enable the trained network model to adapt to untrained new signals.We also use transfer learning strategies to improve the performance for real-world signals.Extensive experiments are conducted to evaluate the performance of this method.The simulation results show that the proposed method performs better than two traditional spectrum sensing methods,i.e.,maximum-minimum eigenvalue ratio-based method and frequency domain entropy-based method.In addition,the experimental results of the new untrained signal types show that our method can adapt to the detection of these new signals.Furthermore,the real-world signal detection experiment results show that the detection performance can be further improved by transfer learning.Finally,experiments under colored noise show that our proposed method has superior detection performance under colored noise,while the traditional methods have a significant performance degradation,which further validate the superiority of our method. 展开更多

Since, most of the spectrum is underutilized, it motivated the introduction of the concept of cognitive radios, a dynamic spectrum access enabling technology. The first stage of cognitive radio is to sense the environment and determine which parts of the spectrum are available. This is achieved through spectrum sensing. However, spectrum sensing poses the most fundamental challenge in cognitive radios. Moreover, cognitive radios suffer from many vulnerabilities and the security attacks can severely degrade the performance of cognitive radios. This paper surveys state-of-theart research on spectrum sensing and security threats in cognitive radios. We first analyze the multiple noises in the full duplex radio system and model such noises as an α - stable distribution. Then we formulate a novel non-Gaussian SI problem. Under the maximum correntropy criterion (MCC), a robust digital non-linear self-interference cancellation algorithm is proposed for the SI channel estimation. A gradient descent based algorithm is derived to search the optimal solution. Simulation results show that the proposed algorithm can achieve a smaller estimation error and a higher pseudo signal to interference plus noise ratio (PSINR) than the well-known least mean square (LMS) algorithm and least square (LS) algorithm. 展开更多

Proliferation of indoor sensor infrastructure has created a new niche for mobile communications, yet research in indoor radio propagation still has not generated a definite model that is able to 1) precisely capture radio signatures in 3-D environments and 2) effectively apply to radios at a wide range of frequency bands. This paper first introduces the impact of wall obstructions on indoor radio propagation by experimental results through a full cycle of an indoor construction process;it then exploits a dynamic 3-D indoor radio propagation model in a two-story building using radio technologies at both 433 MHz and 2.4 GHz. Experimental measurements and evaluation results show that the proposed 3-D model generates accurate signal strength values at all data evaluation positions. Comparing the two radio technologies, this study also indicates that low frequency radios (such as 433 MHz) might not be attractive for indoor mobile computing applications because of larger experimental errors or constant absence of measurement data. 展开更多

Simulation results show that the TPCG algorithm can regulate their transmitter powers and enhance the total throughput effectively, M-TPCG algorithm can achieve maximal system throughput. Improving utilization of the radio spectrum is the main goal of Cognitive Radio Networks (CRN). Recent studies made use of cooperative relay technology in cognitive networks, to increase transmission diversity gain. In this paper we consider an OFDM based cooperative cognitive network with a pair of Source-Destination nodes as the primary user (PU), and a pair of Source-Destination nodes—which is assisted with a relay—as the secondary (cognitive) user (SU). Both primary and secondary users share a same spectrum. In a two hop transmission, the source transmits in the first hop, and the half-duplex relay decodes the message, re-encodes and forwards it to the destination in the second hop on a different subcarrier. The cognitive network obeys an underlay paradigm where the SU is allowed to transmit simultaneously with PU, while its power is limited such that the interference caused for PU does not exceed a defined temperature. Under this constraint, a joint subcarrier pairing and power allocation is proposed for SU to maximize its weighted sum rate. The problem is transformed to a convex optimization problem and solved in the dual domain. Then an algorithm to achieve feasible solutions is used based on the optimization results. Through extensive simulations, we compare the spectrum utilization of the proposed approach with the existing ones, and show that interestingly the proposed method improves the weighted sum rate of SU. 展开更多

We study a spectrum sharing problem where multiple systems coexist and interfere with each other. First, an analysis is proposed for distributed spectrum sharing based on Prisoners' Dilemma (PD) in Cognitive Radios (CRs). In one-shot game, selfish and rational CRs greedily full spread their own spectrum space in order to maximize their own rates, which leads to Nash Equilibrium (N.E.). But with long term interaction, i.e., Iterated Prisoner's Dilemma (IPD), CRs can come to cooperate and acquire the social optimal point by using different evolutionary strategies such as Tit For Tat (TFT), Generous TFT (GTFT), etc. Also we compare the performances of the different evolutionary strategies in noise-free and noisy environments for two-player games. Finally, N-player IPD (N-IPD) is simulated to verify our conclusions that TFT is a good strategy for spectrum sharing in CRs. 展开更多

The advantages of our approaches are approved by the deductions. To solve the problem of the low interference success rate of air defense missile radio fuzes due to the unified interference form of the traditional fuze interference system,an interference decision method based Q-learning algorithm is proposed.First,dividing the distance between the missile and the target into multiple states to increase the quantity of state spaces.Second,a multidimensional motion space is utilized,and the search range of which changes with the distance of the projectile,to select parameters and minimize the amount of ineffective interference parameters.The interference effect is determined by detecting whether the fuze signal disappears.Finally,a weighted reward function is used to determine the reward value based on the range state,output power,and parameter quantity information of the interference form.The effectiveness of the proposed method in selecting the range of motion space parameters and designing the discrimination degree of the reward function has been verified through offline experiments involving full-range missile rendezvous.The optimal interference form for each distance state has been obtained.Compared with the single-interference decision method,the proposed decision method can effectively improve the success rate of interference. 展开更多
