On the basis of the drift tracking and the mooring system data, here, analyses have been done aiming at the structural characteristics and the dynamical mechanisms of the frontal residual current field of the Hangzhou Bay. Especially a theoritical model is given focusing on the frontal density-driven currents. The results indicate that there exists obviously the upper-layer front-driven flow along the orientation of the front during neap tides in the research area of the Hangzhou Bay. But the flow is restrained by the strong vortical viscosity during spring tides. In the lower layer, the effect of the front is little and the subtidal movements are dominated by the tide-induced residual currents. The research assesses key factors influencing safety, including the certification of electricians, the quality of cable brands used, proper cable sizing, adherence to wiring color codes, the awareness and use of Residual Current Circuit Breakers (RCCBs), and the protection of earth electrodes. A descriptive research design was utilized, involving extensive field surveys and electrical installation audits. Data were collected using standardized tools and analyzed with SPSS software to evaluate the professional competencies of artisans and their adherence to safety standards. The findings indicate significant safety risks, with 69.7% of electricians lacking proper certification, leading to the widespread use of non-approved cable brands, improper cable sizing, and deviations from wiring color codes. Additionally, deficiencies were found in the awareness and use of RCCBs and the protection of earth electrodes. The study concludes with recommendations to enhance electrical safety, including mandatory certification for electricians, public awareness campaigns, regular inspections, and ongoing training and development programs. These measures are crucial for improving the overall safety and quality of electrical installations in the Suame area, Ghana.展开更多

Features of the tidal and residual currents were studied with rotary spectral and cross-spectral methods. Main achievements were as follows: 1) Tides dominated the currents. At sites A and B, the semidiurnal tidal current was basically homogeneous in the whole depth, taking a clockwise rotation at site A, and near-rectilinear counterclockwise rotation at site B; while the diurnal tidal current was strong and clockwise near the surface, but decreased and turned counterclockwise with depth; at site C, semidiurnal tidal current dominated and diurnal current took the second, both of which were counterclockwise and vertically homogeneous. Inertial motion contributed to the clockwise component of diurnal fluctuations; 2) The 3-5d fluctuation of residual current was found at site C and attributed to the response of current to meridional wind, with a lag time of approximately 1.8d; 3) Mean residual flows at sites A and B in 2001 probably suggested an anticyclonic inner circulation in the middle of the southern Yellow Sea in summer.展开更多

The M2 tidal component was forced in open boundary and discharge from six rivers was included in the numerical calculation. The M2 tidal elevation produced by the FVCOM has a good agreement with the observation data. The M2 tidal current is also suc cessfully calculated under the ebb tide and flood tide conditions. The non-linear M2 tidal residual current was produced by the coastline geometry, especially surrounding the narrow strait between the Serangan Is- land and the Benoa Peninsula. The tidal residual current also generated two small eddies within the bay and one small eddy in the bay mouth. The salinity distribution influenced by river discharge could be success- fully calculated, where the numerical calculation and the observation results have a good correlation (r2) of 0.75. Finally in order to examine the seawater exchange in the Benoa Bay, the Lagrangian particle tracking method and calculation of residence time are applied. The mechanism of particle transport to the flushing of seawater is depicted clearly by both methods.展开更多

The simulation results were in good agreement with observations. The co-tidal maps of K1 , O1 , and M2 indicated that K1 and O1 were mostly standing waves outside the Lianzhou Bay, while M2 had a largely propagating character. However, all three constituents became propagating waves when entering the Lianzhou Bay, due to the shallow waters. The tidal current ellipses showed the characters of K1 , O1 , and M2 constituents: K1 and O1 were rotating outside the bay, but rectilinear along the water channels inside the bay; M2 was mostly rectilinear over the whole area. The tidal-induced residual current shows the flow was divided into two branches by the Guantouling Peninsula: one turned to flow west; the other was blocked by the southern boundary of the peninsula, creating a clockwise circulation. In Lianzhou Bay, there were two circulation systems, a cyclonic one at the top of the bay and an anti-cyclonic at the mouth.展开更多

Shipboard Acoustic Doppler Current Profi le measurements, from the mid-region of the QS(110.18°E), were collected on 1–4 August 2010. The diurnal tidal currents had their maximum amplitudes between 4.24 and 20.24 m. Their amplitude along the major axis ranged from approximately 0.55 m/s in the middle part of the strait(20.15°N) to 0.84 m/s in the north part of the strait(20.20°N). Both anticlockwise and clockwise tidal current rotations exist in the QS. During the observation period(neap tide), a signifi cant westward residual current occupied almost the entire study section. Two velocity cores of westward current were observed at the northern part and near the deepest trough, although an eastward current appeared in the middle part of the transect. The deepest core was located near 62 m at 20.13°N, with a maximum velocity of-0.34 m/s. The shallower core was located at approximately 16 m at 20.20°N, with a maximum velocity of-0.33 m/s. The estimated total volume of water transported through the QS was-0.16 Sv. This value is an important boundary condition, applicable to numerical models studying coastal ocean circulation in the northwestern South China Sea.展开更多

Characteristics of tidal and residual currents are obtained with Cosine-Lanczos filter and cross-spectral analyses. The main achievements are as follows: 1) Along with the local inertial frequency of 12.8 h, two other peaks at -12-h and -10-d dominate the time series of raw velocity; 2) The M2 dominates the 6 resolved tide constituents with significant amplitude variations over depth and the ratios of current speed of this constituent to that of the total tidal current are 54% and 47% for u and v components, respectively. All the resolved tidal constituents rotate clockwise at depth with the exception of MM and O1. The constituents of M2 and $2 with the largest major semi-axes are similar in eccentricity and orientation at deeper levels; 3) The maximum of residual currents varies in a range of 20-30 cm s-1 over depth and the current with lower velocities flow more true north with smaller magnitudes compared to the current in surface layer. The -10d fluctuation of residual current is found throughout the water column and attributed to the response of current to the local wind forcing, with an approximate 1.4 d lag-time at the surface level and occurring several hours later in the lower layer; 4) Mean residual currents flow toward the north with the magnitudes smaller than 7 cm s-1 in a general agreement with previous studies, which suggests a relatively weaker but stable northward flow indeed exists in the central Chukchi Sea.展开更多

The results show that there is periodical water and sediment exchange in this joint waters, that the net water exchange appears mainly between 0 - 6 m depth (theoretical datum plane, the same below) offshore and the maximum is near the depth of 2 m, and that the net sediment exchange mainly appears between 0 - 5 m depth and the maximum is near the depth of 3 m, indicating that the range of water flow passage is different from that of sediment transport from the Yangtze Estuary to the Hangzhou Bay. Combined with the results of numerical simulation, this paper also analyzes the hydrodynamical mechanism influencing water and sediment exchange between the Yangtze Estuary and the Hangzhou Bay, including tidal fluctuation, tidal current kinetic energy, tide-induced residual current and the trace of water particles. Finally, the sediment transportation passage on the Nanhui tidal fiat is discussed, and the results show that sediment is transported into the Hangzhou Bay from the south side of Shipilei, while sediment is brought back to the South Channel of the Yangtze Estuary from the north side.展开更多

In particular, we introduce the notion of logarithmic differential forms with the use of the classical de Rham lemma and give an explicit description of regular meromorphic differential forms in terms of residues of logarithmic or multi-logarithmic differential forms with respect to hypersurfaces, com-plete intersections or pure-dimensional Cohen-Macaulay spaces. 文摘This study aims to evaluate the safety status of electrical installations in residential and commercial buildings within the Suame ECG strategic business unit, Ghana, focusing on compliance with international and Ghanaian wiring standards. These measures are crucial for improving the overall safety and quality of electrical installations in the Suame area, Ghana.
文摘Current data from three moored Acoustic Doppler Profilers (ADPs) deployed in the southern Yellow Sea at sites A (1-24.17°E, 34.82°N), B (122.82°E, 35.65°N) in summer 2001 and site C (120.85°E, 34.99°N) in summer 2003 were analyzed in this paper. Inertial motion contributed to the clockwise component of diurnal fluctuations; 2) The 3-5d fluctuation of residual current was found at site C and attributed to the response of current to meridional wind, with a lag time of approximately 1.8d; 3) Mean residual flows at sites A and B in 2001 probably suggested an anticyclonic inner circulation in the middle of the southern Yellow Sea in summer.

文摘A three-dimensional (3-D) finite volume coastal ocean model (FVCOM) was used for the study of water cir culation and seawater exchange in the Benoa Bay, Bali Island. The mechanism of particle transport to the flushing of seawater is depicted clearly by both methods.

文摘A 3-D unstructured-grid, finite-volume coastal ocean model (FVCOM) was used to study the tides and tidal currents in the Lianzhou Bay and adjacent areas. In Lianzhou Bay, there were two circulation systems, a cyclonic one at the top of the bay and an anti-cyclonic at the mouth.

文摘The velocity structure of the residual current across an entire section of the Qiongzhou Strait(QS) in summer is presented for the fi rst time. This value is an important boundary condition, applicable to numerical models studying coastal ocean circulation in the northwestern South China Sea.

文摘Current data from a moored Acoustic Doppler Current Profiler (ADCP) deployed at 69°30.155N, 169″00.654″W in the central Chukchi Sea during 2012 summertime is analyzed in the present paper. The -10d fluctuation of residual current is found throughout the water column and attributed to the response of current to the local wind forcing, with an approximate 1.4 d lag-time at the surface level and occurring several hours later in the lower layer; 4) Mean residual currents flow toward the north with the magnitudes smaller than 7 cm s-1 in a general agreement with previous studies, which suggests a relatively weaker but stable northward flow indeed exists in the central Chukchi Sea.

文摘Based on the 2-D flow and sediment numerical model of the Yangtze Estuary and the Hangzhou Bay, the characteristics of water and sediment exchange in their joint waters is studied through quantitative calculation and analysis of the characteristics of water flow and sediment transportation. Finally, the sediment transportation passage on the Nanhui tidal fiat is discussed, and the results show that sediment is transported into the Hangzhou Bay from the south side of Shipilei, while sediment is brought back to the South Channel of the Yangtze Estuary from the north side.
文摘In the article, we discuss basic concepts of the residue theory of logarithmic and multi-logarithmic differential forms, and describe some aspects of the theory, de-veloped by the author in the past few years. Among other things, several useful applications are considered, which are related with the theory of holo-nomic D-modules, the theory of Hodge structures, the theory of residual currents and others.
