The case of long waves interfacial stability has been studied. The dispersion relation is solved numerically and hence the ef- fects of various parameters are illustrated graphically. Our results reveal that the influence of the physicochemical pa- rameterβ is to shrink the instability region of the surface and reduce the growth rate of the unstable normal modes. Such important effects of the surfactant on the shape of in- terfacial structures are more sensitive to the variation of the βcorresponding to non-Newtonian fluids-model compared with the Newtonian fluids model. In the case of long wave limit, it is demonstrated that increasing r, has a dual role in- fluence (de-stabilizing effects) depending on the viscosity of the core fluid. It has a destabilizing effect at the large values of the core fluid viscosity coefficient, while this role is ex- changed to a regularly stabilizing influence at small values of such coefficient.展开更多

The upper surface of the ocean is assumed to be covered by an infinitely extended thin uniform elastic plate, while the lower surface is bounded by a porous bottom surface having a small deformation. By employing a simplified perturbation analysis, involving a small parameter c^(〈〈l ), which measures the smallness of the deformation, the governing Boundary Value Problem (BVP) is reduced to a simpler BVP for the first-order correction of the potential function. This BVP is solved using a method based on Green's integral theorem with the introduction of suitable Green's function to obtain the first-order potential, and this potential function is then utilized to calculate the first-order reflection and transmission coefficients in terms of integrals involving the shape function c(x) representing the bottom deformation. Consideration of a patch of sinusoidal ripples shows that when the quotient of twice the component of the incident field wave number propagating just below the elastic plate and the ripple wave number approaches one, the theory predicts a resonant interaction between the bed and the surface below the elastic plate. Again, for small angles of incidence, the reflected wave energy is more as compared to the other angles of incidence. It is also observed that the reflected wave energy is somewhat sensitive to the changes in the flexural rigidity of the elastic plate, the porosity of the bed and the ripple wave numbers. The main advantage of the present study is that the results for the values of reflection and transmission coefficients obtained are found to satisfy the energy-balance relation almost accurately.展开更多

Using perturbation analysis, the corresponding problem governed by modified Helmholtz equation is reduced to a boundary value problem for the first-order correction of the potential function. The first-order potential and, hence, the reflection and transmission coefficients are obtained by a method based on Green's integral theorem with the introduction of appropriate Green's function. Consideration of a patch of sinusoidal ripples shows that when the quotient of twice the component of the incident field wave number along x-direction and the ripple wave number approaches one, the theory predicts a resonant interaction between the bed and the free-surface, and the reflection coefficient becomes a multiple of the number of ripples. Again, for small angles of incidence, the reflected energy is more as compared to the other angles of incidence. It is also observed that the reflected energy is somewhat sensitive to the changes in the porosity of the ocean bed. From the derived results, the solutions for problems with impermeable ocean bed can be obtained as particular cases.展开更多

Herein, a series of three dimensional ordered hierarchically porous carbon(3D OHPC) materials with micro/meso/macropores are designed and synthesized for Li-Se battery. The porous structure is tuned by following the concept of the generalized Murray’s law to facilitate the mass diffusion and reduce ion transport resistance. The optimized 3D Se/OHPC cathode exhibits a very high 2 nd discharge capacity of 651 m Ah/g and retains 361 m Ah/g after 200 cycles at 0.2 C. Even at a high current rate of 5 C, the battery still shows a discharge capacity as high as 155 m Ah/g. The improved electrochemical performance is attributed to the synergy effect of the interconnected and well-designed micro, meso and macroporosity while shortened ions diffusion pathways of such Murray materials accelerate its ionic and electronic conductivities leading to the enhanced electrochemical reaction. The diffusivity coefficient in Se/OHPC can reach a very high value of 1.3 × 10^(-11)cm^(2)/s, much higher than those in single pore size carbon hosts. Their effective volume expansion accommodation capability and reduced dissolution of polyselenides ensure the high stability of the battery. This work, for the first time, established the clear relationship between textural properties of cathode materials and their performance and demonstrates that the concept of the generalized Murray’s law can be used as efficient guidance for the rational design and synthesis of advanced hierarchically porous materials and the great potential of 3D OHPC materials as a practical high performance cathode material for Li-Se batteries.展开更多

The good match of CAC-CN electrode and HG-WIS electrolyte endows the assembled devices with superior high energy density and excellent capacitance retention, also a good temperature robustness, as well a high flexibility in 0-180° bending cycles. This study indicates that the collaborative design strategy of electrode materials and electrolyte would be great potential in exploring advanced aqueous solid-state SCs.展开更多

White proposed a patchy saturation model in 1975, in which spherical gas pockets were located at the center of a liquid saturated cube. For an extremely light and compressible inner gas, the physical properties can be approximated by a vacuum with White's model. The model successfully analyzes the dispersion phenomena of a P-wave velocity in gas-water- saturated rocks. In the case of liquid pocket saturation, e.g., an oil-pocket surrounded by a water saturated host matrix, the light fluid-pocket assumption is doubtful, and few works have been reported in White's framework. In this work, Poisson's ratio, the bulk modulus, and the effective density of a dual-liquid saturated medium are formulated for the heterogeneous porous rocks containing liquid-pockets. The analysis of the difference between the newly derived bulk modulus and that of White's model shows that the effects of liquid-pocket saturation do not disappear unless the porosity approaches zero. The inner pocket fluid can no longer be ignored. The improvements of the P-wave velocity predictions are illustrated with two examples taken from experiments, i.e., the P-wave velocity in the sandstone saturated by oil and brine and the P-wave velocity for heavy oils and stones at different temperatures.展开更多

The relationship curves of the displacement solutions and various parameters (permeability, frequency, etc.) under action of a unit of torque are also given in this paper. The results are consistent with previous Reissner's solutions, where a two-phase medium decays to a single-phase medium. The solution is useful in solving relevant dynamic problems of a two- phase saturated medium in engineering.展开更多

It is shown that its determination theoretically amounts to solving a nonlinear boundary value problem defined on a representative elementary volume(REV). The principle of nonlinear homogenization is illustrated based on the case of a solid phase having a Green’s strength criterion. An original refinement of the so-called secant method(based on two reference strains) is also provided. The paper also describes the main feature of the Gurson’s model which implements the principle of limit analysis on a conceptual model of hollow sphere. The last part of the paper gives some ideas concerning poromechanical couplings.展开更多

The main difference relates with how to describe the interaction between solid phase and liquid phase in constitutive model. The derived onset condition of strain localization under Terzaghi' s effective stress description can be used to interpret different failure types, piping effect, landslides and mudflows, by means of the type and the magnitude ratio of relative movement between solid phase and liquid phase. Examples here illuminate the onset condition of how to work.展开更多

When the fluid flows between curved stream line, the centrifugal forces are setup which is counter balanced by pressure forces acting in the radial direction. The vortex motion has two types of curved motion. The first type called free vortex type, the fluid moves due to its own natural effect but energy is not added to fluid when moving in curved path. The second type called forced vortex, in which energy is added to fluid. A two dimensional steady laminar free convective flow of viscous incompressible flow in porous media voids is considered. In this paper the motion of fluid is studied while moving in the porous media. It is studied that the motion of the fluid in the porous media is vortex motion at the low Reynolds’s number, where the motion is laminar motion and the fluid obeys the laws of vortex motion.展开更多

From the derived results, the solutions for problems with impermeable ocean bed can be obtained as particular cases.

文摘Developing host materials with high specific surface area, good electron conductivity, and fast ion transportation channel is critical for high performance lithium-selenium(Li-Se) batteries. This work, for the first time, established the clear relationship between textural properties of cathode materials and their performance and demonstrates that the concept of the generalized Murray’s law can be used as efficient guidance for the rational design and synthesis of advanced hierarchically porous materials and the great potential of 3D OHPC materials as a practical high performance cathode material for Li-Se batteries.
文摘The numerical determination of static characteristics of bearings allows a cost-efficient and fast pre-design.In this study, two flow models for aerostatic thrust bearings with pressurized porous material are presented and analyzed. The models are based on the coupling of the Reynolds equation for lubricants(REL)and the determination of pressure drop through porous material by Darcy’s law.The simplified model is based on the assumption of a one-dimensional axial flow through porous media. The extended model considers the three-dimensional flow in the porous body. The analysis includes pressurized air from 4 to 9 bar(a)with nominal clearance of 5 to 60μm,Commercial CFD(computational fluid dynamics)software was used to verify the results. The extended model allows a more accurate prediction about the performance in the critical gap range. In total, the results show good agreement with CFD within a short computation time.

文摘A new microzone-combustion synthesis is proposed for preparing S, N-doped hierarchically porous carbons(CAC-CN) with a novel mixed microstructure of sp~2 short-range order area and sp~3 defective area, achieving a coexistence of high conductivity and high capacitance as well as good access for electrolyte.By engineering ‘‘water in salts" into a polymer matrix, a high-voltage(2.5 V) aqueous gel electrolyte(HGWIS) is prepared and used to construct an aqueous solid-state SCs by in situ polymerization between the electrodes. The good match of CAC-CN electrode and HG-WIS electrolyte endows the assembled devices with superior high energy density and excellent capacitance retention, also a good temperature robustness, as well a high flexibility in 0-180° bending cycles. This study indicates that the collaborative design strategy of electrode materials and electrolyte would be great potential in exploring advanced aqueous solid-state SCs.

文摘It becomes increasingly clear that non-uniform distribution of immiscible fluids in porous rock is particularly relevant to seismic wave dispersion. The improvements of the P-wave velocity predictions are illustrated with two examples taken from experiments, i.e., the P-wave velocity in the sandstone saturated by oil and brine and the P-wave velocity for heavy oils and stones at different temperatures.

文摘Based on the solutions of the Green's function for a saturated porous medium obtained by the authors, and using transformation of axisymmetric coordinates, Sommerfeld integrals and superposition of the influence field on a free surface, the authors have obtained displacement solutions of a saturated porous medium subjected to a torsional force in a half-space. The relationship curves of the displacement solutions and various parameters (permeability, frequency, etc.) under action of a unit of torque are also given in this paper. The results are consistent with previous Reissner's solutions, where a two-phase medium decays to a single-phase medium. The solution is useful in solving relevant dynamic problems of a two- phase saturated medium in engineering.

文摘The problem of the creeping flow through a spherical droplet with a non-homogenous porous layer in a spherical container has been studied analytically.Darcy’s model for the flow inside the porous annular region and the Stokes equation for the flow inside the spherical cavity and container are used to analyze the flow. The drag force is exerted on the porous spherical particles enclosing a cavity, and the hydrodynamic permeability of the spherical droplet with a non-homogeneous porous layer is calculated.Emphasis is placed on the spatially varying permeability of a porous medium, which is not covered in all the previous works related to spherical containers. The variation of hydrodynamic permeability and the wall effect with respect to various flow parameters are presented and discussed graphically. The streamlines are presented to discuss the kinematics of the flow. Some previous results for hydrodynamic permeability and drag forces have been verified as special limiting cases.
文摘The present paper aims at giving some general ideas concerning the micromechanical approach of the strength of a porous material. The last part of the paper gives some ideas concerning poromechanical couplings.
文摘Based on governing equations of saturated porous media and Liapunov' s stability here, onset conditions matrix of porous media used by solid stress and Terzaghi's effective stress constitutive description under seepage flow state, are presented, which have different forms with different representation of the solid phase, matrix or skeleton, constitutive model of porous media. Examples here illuminate the onset condition of how to work.
文摘In vortex motion fluid moves in curve path and the stream lines are curved. It is studied that the motion of the fluid in the porous media is vortex motion at the low Reynolds’s number, where the motion is laminar motion and the fluid obeys the laws of vortex motion.
