The effect of hypertension in the elderly is higher than other age groups and it may lead to changes in their quality of life. By the increase of age, the amount of self-care behaviors of patients with hypertension decreased. Therefore, control and self-care behaviors are so important. This study has been conducted to study self-regulation behaviors and Associated Factors in elderly patients with hypertension. This study was a cross sectional, descriptive analytic study, which was conducted using multistage sampling on the elderly 60 years and above with hypertension. The sample size was calculated 365 and the final sample size of 380 people was considered by possible losses. The instruments include of demographic and self-regulatory behaviors questionnaire. The results showed that self-regulation of behavior was 42.3% of the total score. In terms of quality, only 7.4% of the elderly had good behavior, 46.6% of poor performance, and the rest were mediocre performance. Age (p = 0.03), gender (p = 0.02), education (p = 0.001), income level (p = 0.03) and marital status (p = 0.001) significantly associated with behaviors of self-regulation. The results generally indicate unfavorable self-regulation of elderly patients with hypertension. Some variables such as gender, age, marital status, education and income levels were associated with these behaviors. So paying attention to the education of the elderly in care centers is essential.展开更多

The temporal and spatial dynamics of the new neural network formation were studied in real and simulated (false) biofeedback game, and their qualitative characteristics were discussed. It has been shown that immersion into a virtual competitive game, controlled by physiological responses, causes a wide involvement of the cortices, characterized by a high volume of activation in the mid-temporal, occipital and frontal areas, the cuneus and the precuneus. In both forms of media training, high values of activation volume were identified in the cerebellar structures.展开更多

College students, especially freshmen, are facing a large workload and a relatively flexible learning atmosphere compared with their experience in high school. Self-regulation seems to be an important component in acquiring academic achievement for college students. In other words, students who can control their learning processes effectively are characterized as self-regulated learners(Schunk & Zimmerman 1994). Many people believe that everyone could be self-regulated learner, but what differentiates them most is the quality of their self-regulation( as cited in Cohen 2012). Therefore, understanding the role of self-regulation and how to manage students' learning experiences in order to improve their self-regulation ability are significant.展开更多

The activated carbons were prepared with the temperature rising rates of 5, 10, 15, 20 ℃/min and constant temperatures of 600, 700, 800, 900, 1 000, 1 100, 1 200, 1 300, 1 400, and 1 500 ℃ for 0.5, 1, 2, 3, and 6 h, respectively. And then their structures such as specific surface areas, volumes of pores from 3.7-7.1 nm and average pore diameters were tested. Various humidity conditions were simulated and their self-regulating humidity properties such as absorption/desorption contents, rates and stabilities were evaluated. The results show that the specific surface area, volume of pores from 3.7-7.1 nm and average pore diameter of activated carbon are closely nonlinearly related to the temperature rising rate, temperature and holding time. In general, the activated carbon prepared with the temperature rising rate of 5 ℃/min and kept at 1 100 ℃ for 2 h has the highest absorption/desorption content and rate, the lowest decay factor and then the best stability at all humidity for the fact that it is provided with proper average pore diameter, higher specific surface area and volume of pores from 3.7-7.1 nm. The activated carbons can be prepared with the temperature rising rate of 5 ℃/min and kept at 1000, 900,1 200, 1 300, 1 400, 1 500, 800, 700, and 600 ℃ respectively for 2 h. These resulted properties are attributed to their different average pore diameters and volumes of pores from 3.7-7.1 nm.展开更多

Replacing the branched low molecular weight PEI with polyamidoamine(PAMAM) dendrimer in the zeta potential regulated polymerization resulted in the similar network structured cationic polymer with electron microscopically visible crosslinking junctions. This visibility may offer a convenient way to characterize the molecular structure of the rationally designed networked siRNA-packing cationic polymer without altering its chemical properties and biologic functions. A series of physical-chemical characterizations and biological assays, comprising size, zeta potential, pre-phagocytic siRNA leaking and degradation, and silencing of functional genes, confirmed that the advanced properties of polywraplexes remained with the dendrimer junctions. Although sixth generation PAMAM dendrimer was used as the crosslinking junctions in the size-customizable polymerization for electron microscopic observation, lower generation dendrimer should also work in case more practical and structurally defined cationic polymer is needed.展开更多

Many of them expect to maintain a rich social life and to continue driving at an older age. Objective: The present study investigates the mechanisms behind self-regulation and driving cessation in order to suggest development of support systems to prolong older drivers’ safe mobility. Method: Three focus groups were conducted with 19 older active drivers aged 65+ who were divided according to annual mileage driven. Results: A content analysis revealed broad self-regulatory behaviour as already reported in the literature, e.g., avoiding driving at rush hour and at night. The participants also reported difficulty in finding the way to their final destination and an increasing need to plan their travelling. Co-piloting was a behaviour applied by couples to cope with difficulties encountered in traffic. A large part of the discussion was focused on emerging feelings of stress, anxiety and fear when driving in recent years, a feeling induced by external factors e.g., other road users’ behaviour, traffic density or high speed. Apart from health problems, high levels of stress could explain driving cessation, especially for women. An increased feeling of safety and comfort could be achieved by an increased use of support systems specifically designed to respond to older drivers’ needs. Conclusion: Support systems for older drivers should increase comfort and decrease their stress levels. New systems, such as co-pilot function and more developed Global Positioning System (GPS) supporting of the entire travel from door to door, should be developed to respond to the market needs.展开更多

These resulted properties are attributed to their different average pore diameters and volumes of pores from 3.7-7.1 nm.

文摘This study demonstrates that our previously reported polywraplex, a synthetic siRNA carrier consisting of a uni-molecular polyplex core of customizable size and a self-assembled triblock copolymer envelop, may be constructed using dendrimers as the crosslinking junctions. Although sixth generation PAMAM dendrimer was used as the crosslinking junctions in the size-customizable polymerization for electron microscopic observation, lower generation dendrimer should also work in case more practical and structurally defined cationic polymer is needed.
文摘Post-traumatic stress disorder is caused by a traumatic experience, for example rape,a natural disaster, war, serious accidents.Memories of the trauma often haunt the affected person in everyday life.Anyone who has to survive one or more such extreme situations can suffer from post-traumatic stress disorder, even witnesses of a traumatic event[1].If the disorder is not treated,it can become chronic and massively limit the quality of life. With timely and correct therapy, the chances of recovery are good.In the experience and psychological processing of those affected, there is a difference whether this catastrophe was a natural disaster or a“man made disaster”in a war or post-war area.It becomes very difficult when the two come together,as for example in Banda Aceh in 2004.The associated individual experience of fear of death, panic, helplessness, loss of control and powerlessness is the same for both types of disaster at the moment it happens. However, the processing of the traumatising experience is different.Traumas caused by people are more difficult for the individual to process than natural disasters. The article describes in detail what happens in the body and in the person during traumatisation. It also describes how the body can heal itself. The second part of the article presents the concrete exercise programme for practice.

文摘Purpose:The purpose of this study was to investigate the influence of fatigue upon kicking maximal ball velocity and the target-hitting accuracy of soccer players;and also to examine the effect of the knowledge of the exercise duration upon these 2 parameters.Methods:Twenty-four semi-professional soccer players participated in this study and performed maximal instep kicks before and after the implementation of an exercise protocol, either with or without knowledge of the duration of this protocol. Results:A mixed model of analysis of variance showed that kicking maximal ball velocity was significantly affected(F(5,85)=11.6,p<0.001,η^2=0.39) but only after just 1 circuit of the fatigue protocol and then remained similar.Accuracy did not change during the protocol(F(5,75)=0.23,p=0.76,η^2=0.03) and knowing the duration of exercitation did not affect accuracy and velocity development(F(1,23) ≤1.04,p≥0.32,η~2≤0.06).Conclusion:These findings demonstrated the potential negative effects of fatigue on kicking ball velocity in soccer but not in the kicking accuracy and that the effect of fatigue may not be progressive over time.Knowing or not knowing the duration of exercitation did not affect the results.

文摘Pine wilt disease(PWD)is one of the most devastating diseases of Pinu s spp.and is caused by the pine wood nematode(PWN),Bursaphelenchus xylophilus(Steiner&Buhrer)Nickle. To study adaptation of PWN to survive in hosts that differ in resistance,we examined the self-regulatory characteristics of PWN at the biological and molecular levels early in the interaction.Two-year-old susceptible Pinus thunbergii and resistant Pinus taeda were selected for this experiment, and changes in PWNs after inoculation were assessed.q RT-PCR was used to detect changes in genes related to PWN pathogenicity and detoxification. The results showed that the migration and reproductive abilities of PWNs in P.thunbergii were stronger than those of PWNs in P.taeda.After 7 d,the number of nematodes in P.thunbergii was approximately 3.2-fold higher than in P.taeda.After 15 d,the number of nematodes in P.thunbergii was approximately twofold higher than that in P.taeda.Because PWN can adjust its sex ratio after infection,we compared the sex ratio of uninoculated PWNs,to that in the two pine species. In P.thunbergii, the female to male ratio first decreased and then stabilized over time;in P.taeda first decreased and then increased.Relative fat accumulation in PWNs increased significantly after the PWNs entered the tree body;the accumulation rate in P.thunbergii was higher than in P.taeda at 7 d,but lower after 15 d.Scanning electron microscopy(SEM)showed significantly more bacteria on the surface of PWNs in P.taeda compared with PWNs in susceptible P.thunbergii.At 12 h after inoculation, the expression of genes related to cell-wall degradation(Bx Beta1-4 and Bxpel1),effectors(Bx CDP1,Bx Sap B1),and active oxygen metabolism(Bxy-ctl-1 and Bx GST3)was 2–6×higher in the resistant pine than in the susceptible one.In contrast,in PWNs,the expression of autophagy-related genes Bx ATG1 and Bx ATG16 was 1.5–2 times higher in P.thunbergii than in P.taeda.These results indicate that the interaction between PWNs and pine trees with different resistance levels elicits a series of physiological and molecular adaptations that affect nematode reproduction and virulence. This study will help elucidate the adaptive mechanisms of PWN in different pine trees.

文摘Background: The number of older people is increasing. New systems, such as co-pilot function and more developed Global Positioning System (GPS) supporting of the entire travel from door to door, should be developed to respond to the market needs.

文摘This article proposes an exponential adjustment inertia weight immune particle swarm optimization(EAIW-IPSO)to enhance the accuracy and reliability regarding the selection of shield tunneling parameter values.According to the iteration changes and the range of inertia weight in particle swarm optimization algorithm(PSO),the inertia weight is adjusted by the form of exponential function.Meanwhile, the self-regulation mechanism of the immune system is combined with the PSO.12 benchmark functions and the realistic cases of shield tunneling parameter value selection are utilized to demonstrate the feasibility and accuracy of the proposed EAIW-IPSO algorithm.Comparison with other improved PSO indicates that EAIW-IPSO has better performance to solve unimodal and multimodal optimization problems. When solving the selection of shield tunneling parameter values,EAIW-IPSO can provide more accurate and reliable references for the realistic engineering.
文摘A wheat breeding model for high yield in the middle and south of Hebei Province was developed. Wheat variety Ji 84-5418 has been bred on this model. The analysis results of high-yield and stability indicated that Ji 84-5418 was not only an aggregate of varied excellent characters, but a recombined biotype which could early differentiate spike and develop coordi-nately,and had better self-regulation ability and potential high productivity. Its yield is stable at 6000-8250 kg/ha.
文摘Counterfactual thinking is helpful to comprehend the mistakes made previously and to move toward by proposing future actions to facilitate the success of self-regulation.The sunk cost effect rationalizes a strategy, which is the aim of studies on decision-making.However,few of them have discussed the influence of counterfactual thinking to the sunk cost effect. This study assumes that downward counterfactual thinking can regulate the unhappy mood at the moment for relief, which may reduce the sunk cost fallacy;upward counterfactual thinking,on the contrary, emphasizes the improvement of future behaviors, which may increase the sunk cost fallacy.
