Cognitive radio sensor network is applied to facilitate network monitoring and management, and achieves high spectrum efficiencies in smart grid. However, the conventional traffic scheduling mechanisms are hard to provide guaranteed quality of service for the secondary users. It is because that they ignore the influence of diverse transition requirements in heterogeneous traffi c. Therefore, a novel Qo S-aware packet scheduling mechanism is proposed to improve transmission quality for secondary users. In this mechanism, a Qo S-based prioritization model is established to address data classification firstly. And then, channel quality and the effect of channel switch are integrated into priority-based packet scheduling mechanism. At last, the simulation is implemented with MATLAB and OPNET. The results show that the proposed scheduling mechanism improves the transmission quality of high-priority secondary users and increase the whole system utilization by 10%. 展开更多

Wireless sensor network(WSN) is a typical kind of low-power and lossy network,in where ARQ(Automatic Repeat reQuest)schemes are often used to improve packets reliability.However,the ARQ related packets may incur significant load and consume more energy.This paper proposes a novel energy efficient ARQ protocol called ARQ+,which uses the nearest-first scheme and NAK aggregation scheme to reduce the amount and transmission hops of the ARQ related packets.Consequently,the energy consumption is significantly decreased.Theoretical analyses of ARQ+ on energy consumption,packet arrive ratio and latency are provided.Performance improvement of ARQ+ is validated by extensive simulations.They both show that ARQ+ has satisfactory energy efficiency,good packets arriving ratio and reasonable average packet delay comparing to traditional ARQ schemes. 展开更多

The smart grid has caught great attentions in recent years, which is poised to transform a centralized, producer-controlled network to a decentralized, consumer- interactive network that's supported by fine-grained monitoring. Large-scale WSNs (Wireless Sensor Networks) have been considered one of the very promising technologies to support the implementation of smart grid. WSNs are applied in almost every aspect of smart grid, including power generation, power transmission, power distribution, power utilization and power dispatch, and the data query processing of 'WSNs in power grid' become an hotspot issue due to the amount of data of power grid is very large and the requirement of response time is very high. To meet the demands, top-k query processing is a good choice, which performs the cooperative query by aggregating the database objects' degree of match for each different query predicate and returning the best k matching objects. In this paper, a framework that can effectively apply top-k query to wireless sensor network in smart grid is proposed, which is based on the cluster-topology sensor network. In the new method, local indices are used to optimize the necessary query routing and process intermediate results inside the cluster to cut down the data traffic, and the hierarchical join query is executed based on the local results.Besides, top-k query results are verified by the clean-up process, and two schemes are taken to deal with the problem of node's dynamicity, which further reduce communication cost. Case studies and experimental results show that our algorithm has outperformed the current existing one with higher quality results and better efficiently. 展开更多

So the corresponding fusion algorithm results in bad performance. A new error analysis method for two passive sensor tracking system is presented and the error equations are deduced in detail. Based on the equations, we carry out theoretical computation and Monte Carlo computer simulation. The results show the correctness of our error computation equations. With the error equations, we present multiple 'two station'fusion algorithm using adaptive pseudo measurement equations. This greatly enhances the tracking performance and makes the algorithm convergent very fast and not sensitive to initial conditions.Simulation results prove the correctness of our new algorithm. 展开更多

To improve the frequency utilization rate in WSN, a spectrum management system for WSN combined with cloud computing technology should be considered. From the optimization point of view, the study of dynamic spectrum management can be divided into three kinds of methods, including Nash equilibrium, social utility maximization, and competitive economy equilibrium. In this paper, we propose a genetic algorithm based approach to allocate the power spectrum dynamically. The objective is to maximize the sum of individual Shannon utilities with the background interference and crosstalk consideration. Compared to the approach in [1], the experimental result shows better balance between efficiency and effectiveness of our approach. 展开更多

At any time, each agent updates its estimate using the local observation and the information derived from its neighboring agents. The algorithms are based on the truncated stochastic approximation and their convergence is proved. Using supernetworks theory, the optimal node deployment model is proposed and illustrated. In order to find the equilibrium performance of our model, all optimal performance functions are changed into variational inequalities so that this optimization problem can be solved.
