The study of non-axisymmetric fuel dispersal and detonation can provide reference for the prevention of industrial cloud explosion accidents and the design of fuel air explosive(FAE).The concentration and detonation fields of 85 kg cylindrical and fan-shaped fuel are investigated by experiments and numerical simulations.A dynamic model of the whole process for fuel dispersal and detonation is built. The concentration distribution of fuel is used as the initial condition to calculate the detonation stage, thus solving the initial value problem of detonation field. The phase and component changes of fuel cloud at different locations are compared. The fuel cloud is divided into directions of 0°,90°,135°and 180°.The results show that the maximum cloud radius is 20.94 m in 135°and the minimum is 12.04 m in 0°.The diameter of the detonation fireball is 53.6 m,and the peak temperature is 3455 K.The highest peak overpressure is 3.44 MPa in 0°and the lowest is 2.97 MPa in 135°.The proportion of liquid phase in 0°is22.90%,and the fuel loss is 11.8% and 9% higher than that in 135°and cylindrical charge, respectively. The stable propagation distance of blast wave in 135°is 42.50% longer than 0°and 28.37% longer than cylindrical charge. 展开更多

The cloud type product 2B-CLDCLASS-LIDAR based on CloudSat and CALIPSO from June 2006 to May 2017 is used to examine the temporal and spatial distribution characteristics and interannual variability of eight cloud types(high cloud, altostratus, altocumulus, stratus, stratocumulus, cumulus, nimbostratus, and deep convection) and three phases(ice, mixed, and water) in the Arctic. Possible reasons for the observed interannual variability are also discussed. The main conclusions are as follows:(1) More water clouds occur on the Atlantic side, and more ice clouds occur over continents.(2)The average spatial and seasonal distributions of cloud types show three patterns: high clouds and most cumuliform clouds are concentrated in low-latitude locations and peak in summer;altostratus and nimbostratus are concentrated over and around continents and are less abundant in summer;stratocumulus and stratus are concentrated near the inner Arctic and peak during spring and autumn.(3) Regional averaged interannual frequencies of ice clouds and altostratus clouds significantly decrease, while those of water clouds, altocumulus, and cumulus clouds increase significantly.(4) Significant features of the linear trends of cloud frequencies are mainly located over ocean areas.(5) The monthly water cloud frequency anomalies are positively correlated with air temperature in most of the troposphere, while those for ice clouds are negatively correlated.(6) The decrease in altostratus clouds is associated with the weakening of the Arctic front due to Arctic warming, while increased water vapor transport into the Arctic and higher atmospheric instability lead to more cumulus and altocumulus clouds. 展开更多

In continuous casting production, droplet characteristics are important parameters for evaluating the nozzle atomization quality, and have a significant impact on the secondary cooling effect and the slab quality. In order to study the behavior of atomized droplets after reaching the slab surface and to optimize the spray cooling effect, the influence of droplet diameter and droplet velocity on the migration behavior of droplets in the secondary cooling zone was analyzed by FLUENT software. Results show that the droplets in the spray zone and on the slab surface are mainly concentrated in the center, thus, the liquid volume fraction in the center is higher than that of either side.As the droplet diameter increases, the region of high liquid volume fraction on the slab surface becomes wider, and the liquid phase distribution in the slab width direction becomes uneven.Although increasing the droplet velocity at the nozzle exit has little effect on droplet diffusion in the spray zone, the distribution becomes more uneven due to more liquid reaches the slab surface per unit time.A prediction formula of the maximum water flow rate on the slab surface for specific droplet characteristics was proposed based on dimensionless analysis and validated by simulated data.A nozzle spacing of 210 mm was recommended under the working conditions in this study, which ensures effective coverage of the spray water over the slab surface and enhances the distribution uniformity of water flow rate in the transverse direction. 展开更多

The population spatial distribution pattern and its evolving pattern play an important role in regional allocation of social resources and production factors, formulation of regional development plans, construction of a better life society, and promotion of regional economic development. Based on the resident population statistics data of Henan province from 2006 to 2021, with county as the basic study unit, the paper studies the spatial morphology characteristics and its evolution patterns of resident population distribution, by using spatial analysis methods such as population distribution center, standard deviation ellipse, and spatial auto correlation analysis. The results show that: the resident population spatial distribution shows unbalanced state, the population agglomeration areas mainly distribute in the northeast part and north part, where the resident population growth rate is significantly higher than other regions, over time, this trend is gradually becoming significant. The resident population distribution has a trend of centripetal concentration, with the degree and trend of centripetal gradually strengthening. The resident population distribution has obvious directional characteristics, but the significance is not high, the weighted resident population average center is approximately located at (4.13740˚N, 113.8935˚E), and the azimuth of the distribution axis is approximately 11.19˚. The population distribution has obvious agglomeration characteristics, with the built-up areas of Zhengzhou and Luoyang as their centers, where have a significant siphon effect on the surrounding population. The southern and southwestern regions in the province form a relatively stable belt area of Low-Low agglomeration areas. 展开更多

Meteorological disasters are some of the most serious and costly natural disasters, which have larger effects on economic and social activity. Liuchun Lake is an ecotourism area in the southwest region of Zhejiang province, where also has experienced meteorological disasters including rainstorm and cold wave. Understanding the temporal-spatial characteristics of meteorological disasters is important for the local tourism and economic development. Based on the daily temperature and precipitation from 18 meteorological stations in the southwest of Zhejiang province during 1953-2022 and some statistical approaches, the temporal and spatial characteristics of meteorological disasters (Freezing, Rainstorm, Cold wave) are analyzed. The results indicate that 1) Rainstorm occurred frequently around the Liuchun lake, the frequency was about 8 times/a, it can also reach about 3 times/a in the other region. Freezing and cold wave (including strong cold wave and extremely cold wave) had the same spatial distribution as rainstorm, however, except for Liuchun lake, they occurred less than one time in the other regions;2) The trend of rainstorm had larger spatial difference, it increased in all the study area, but it increased more significantly around the study area than around Liuchun lake. Freezing was on the downtrend in the whole region, with 93.3% of the stations passed the 95% significant level. Cold wave also showed a declined trend, but it was insignificantly at most of the stations, only 33% of the stations passed the 90% significant level. Compared with cold wave, strong cold wave and extremely strong cold wave had weaker decline in all the regions. In general, from 1953 to 2022 rainstorm showed an increasing trend, it was the main meteorological disaster in the study area, cold wave displayed a decreasing trend, but it still occurred about 2 - 3 times/a in most regions. 展开更多

In this paper, a low-dimensional multiple-input and multiple-output (MIMO) model predictive control (MPC) configuration is presented for partial differential equation (PDE) unknown spatially-distributed systems (SDSs). First, the dimension reduction with principal component analysis (PCA) is used to transform the high-dimensional spatio-temporal data into a low-dimensional time domain. The MPC strategy is proposed based on the online correction low-dimensional models, where the state of the system at a previous time is used to correct the output of low-dimensional models. Sufficient conditions for closed-loop stability are presented and proven. Simulations demonstrate the accuracy and efficiency of the proposed methodologies. 展开更多

The latest research shows that the ions generated by the corona discharge of lightning rod have dual functions of attracting and shielding lightning discharge. After the lightning rod is installed at a certain height on the ground, the lightning rod tip reaches the corona threshold to ionize the surrounding air and generate positive and negative ions under the action of the electric field at the end of the lightning downward leader. Constrained by Coulomb’s Law,its positive ions( opposite charges attract each other) form an upward leader( streamer),which moves towards the end of the lightning downward leader and is connected to the downward leader, establishing a discharge channel to attract lightning to the needle tip and discharge the current to the ground, and playing a role in attracting lightning. Its negative ions are repelled by the electric field at the end of the lightning downward leader( repelled by isotropic charges) and influenced by the wind, and diffuse in the downwind area to form an ion cloud, inhibiting the growth of corona at the tip of ground objects, and playing a role in shielding lightning. In this paper,Franklin’s understanding of the role of lightning rod and Yang Shaojie’s new definition of the working principle of lightning rod are briefly introduced. The formation mechanism, distribution characteristics, shielding effect, and impact on lightning strike point distribution of ion clouds are analyzed. Additionally, the important role of shielding effects of ion clouds in regional lightning protection is introduced, which provides a theoretical basis for the correct understanding and use of lightning rod. 展开更多

This paper investigates the estimation problem for a spatially distributed process described by a partial differential equation with missing measurements. The randomly missing measurements are introduced in order to better reflect the reality in the sensor network. To improve the estimation performance for the spatially distributed process,a network of sensors which are allowed to move within the spatial domain is used.We aim to design an estimator which is used to approximate the distributed process and the mobile trajectories for sensors such that, for all possible missing measurements, the estimation error system is globally asymptotically stable in the mean square sense.By constructing Lyapunov functionals and using inequality analysis, the guidance scheme of every sensor and the convergence of the estimation error system are obtained. Finally,a numerical example is given to verify the effectiveness of the proposed estimator utilizing the proposed guidance scheme for sensors. 展开更多

The abandonment of cultivated land in southern China was gradually obvious. This research aims to provide a reference for solving the abandonment of cultivated land in hilly regions and promote rural development in China. We examined Longnan county located in the hilly regions of southern China as an example, where abandoned cultivated land is very common. We analyzed its land use data with a field survey to identify the abandoned cultivated land and geospatial characteristics. From the two aspects of social and natural factors,we analyzed the factors driving cultivated land abandonment with the help of Geodetector. The results showed that in 2019,the total area of the abandoned cultivated land in Longnan county was 4,962.35 hm^(2),covering 39.51% of this region.Among the topographic factors, the abandonment rate is positively correlated with elevation and slope gradient, but not with slope direction.Among the land parcel conditions, the abandonment rate is positively correlated with the access to road network and cultivation distance from settlement. At the county level, the abandonment of cultivated land in study area was affected by multiple factors, among which, the direct factor was the reduction in the labor force, such as the decrease of farming laborers and the increase of female population, which made farming unsustainable.Changes in production factors also promoted transformations in farmers’motivation to engage in production, such as the decrease of grain crops and the increase of cash crops, which was the indirect factor affecting cultivated land abandonment. The development of the rural nonagricultural industry affected farmers’enthusiasm, such as the decrease of farming households, which was the fundamental factor leading to cultivated land abandonment in this area. 展开更多

A gliding arc plasma fuel atomization actuator suitable for aeroengines was designed, and a gliding arc plasma fuel spray experimental platform was built to address the fuel atomization problem in aeroengine combustion chambers. The spray characteristics for different airflows, fuel flows, and discharge voltages were analyzed using laser particle size analysis. The research shows that the fuel atomization effect is improved from the increased airflow. The decreased fuel flow not only reduces the injection pressure of the fuel but also changes the discharge mode of the gliding arc, which affects reductions in the discharge power and inhibits fuel atomization.Gliding arc discharges accelerate the breaking, atomization, and evaporation of fuel droplets while reducing the particle size, which increases the proportion of small droplets.Compared with the working conditions of plasma-assisted atomization without the gliding arc,the D0.5,D0.9,and average particle size of the fuel droplets are reduced by 4.7%,6.5%,and 4.1%,respectively,when the modulation voltage of the gliding arc power supply is 200 V. 展开更多

Material distribution characteristics during sliding and depositing is particularly significative to investigate the internal structure and spatial variation of landslide dams, which are fundamentally determining the mechanical and hydraulic behavior and the susceptibility to cause dam failure. However, limited by longevity shortages and special geographic environments, the material distribution characteristics and their formation mechanisms are difficult to observe in the field. Therefore,an experimental apparatus modeling a landslide dam was developed in this paper, designing three sampling methods with two valley states. The internal deposit characteristics, void ratio variation and relative content of the particle size range(PSR)were analyzed, and the mechanics of deposit structure were also delicately ascertained. The results indicate that granular material deposited in valley shows a structure of inverse grain size accumulation in both vertical and horizontal directions, exhibiting spatial variability of particle gradation and void ratio. The characteristic PSR decreases from 22-30 mm in the two-dimensional state to 10-14 mm in the threedimensional state.Vibration excitation and vibration sieve are the intrinsic mechanisms of granular flow segregation, intrinsically inducing the formation of inverse grading deposit structures.Consequently, spatial variability in size is mainly trig gered by segregation, whereas coarse particle content and deposition boundaries merely exacerbate the difference degree. 展开更多

Vesicles can be of different sizes and shapes and can be randomly distributed within vesicular volcanic rocks. This study investigates the variation of engineering properties of vesicular rocks due to the changes in vesicle distribution characteristics for different cases of bulk porosity and vesicle diameter using a systematic numerical simulation program using the finite element method-based rock failure process analysis (RFPA) software. Models with uniform-size vesicles and combinations of different proportions of different-sized vesicles were considered to resemble natural vesicular rocks more closely, and ten different random vesicle distributions were tested for each case. Increasing bulk porosity decreased the uniaxial compressive strength (UCS) and elastic modulus of the specimens, and the specimens with the lowest bulk porosity showed the greatest range of UCS values in the case of uniform-size vesicles. The effect of vesicle diameter on UCS showed an unsystematic response which was understood to be a result of different vesicle distribution patterns, some of which facilitated a shear failure. Specimens with multiple-size vesicles in different proportions revealed that the variation of UCS due to vesicle distribution characteristics is minimum when the bulk porosity is equally shared by different size vesicles. In addition, when the proportion of smaller-sized vesicles is higher, UCS showed an increase compared to that of the equal proportion of different size vesicles case at low porosities, but a decrease at higher porosities. Variation of elastic modulus showed minor, unsystematic fluctuations as a function of vesicle diameter and different proportions of different-sized vesicles, and the range for different vesicle distribution patterns was narrow in general. Overall, the findings of this study recommend cautious use of the engineering properties determined through a limited number of laboratory tests on vesicular rocks. 展开更多

As significant evidence of permafrost degradation, thermokarst lakes play an important role in the permafrost regions by regulating hydrology, ecology, and biogeochemistry. In the Sources Area of the Yellow River(SAYR),permafrost degradation has accelerated since the 1980s,and numerous thermokarst lakes have been discovered. In this paper,we use Sentinel-2 images to extract thermokarst lake boundaries and perform a regional-scale study on their geometry across the permafrost region in the SAYR.We also explored the spatiotemporal variations and potential drivers from the perspectives of the permafrost, climate, terrain and vegetation conditions. The results showed that there were 47,518 thermokarst lakes in 2021 with a total area of 190.22×106 m^(2),with an average size of 4,003.3 m^(2).The 44,928 ponds(≤10,000 m^(2))predominated the whole lake number(94.1%)but contributed to a small portion of the total lake area(28.8%).With 2,590 features(5.9%),small-sized(10,000 to 100,000 m^(2))and large-sized lakes(>100,000 m^(2))constituted up to 71.2%of the total lake area.Thermokarst lakes developed more significantly in warm permafrost regions than in cold permafrost areas;74.1%of lakes with a total area of 119.6×106 m^(2)(62.9%),were distributed in warm permafrost regions. Most thermokarst lakes were likely to develop within the elevation range of 4,500~4,800 m,on flat terrain(slope<10°),on SE and S aspects and in alpine meadow areas. The thermokarst lakes in the study region experienced significant shrinkage between 1990 and 2021,characterized by obvious lake drainage;the lake numbers decreased by 5418(56.1%),with a decreasing area of 58.63×106 m^(2)(49.0%).This shrinkage of the thermokarst lake area was attributable mainly to the intensified degradation of rich-ice permafrost thawing arising from continued climate warming, despite the wetting climatic trend. 展开更多

A floating conductor exhibits a bipolar corona phenomenon with microscopic discharge characteristics that are still unclear. In this study,a plasma simulation model of the bipolar corona with 108 chemical reaction equations is established by combining hydrodynamics and plasma chemical reactions. The evolution characteristics of electrons, positive ions, negative ions and neutral particles,as well as the distribution characteristics of space charges are analyzed, and the evolutionary flow of microscopic particles is summarized. The results indicate that the positive end of the bipolar corona initiates discharge before the negative end,but the plasma chemistry at the negative end is more vigorous. The electron generation rate can reach 1240 mol(m^(3) s)^(-1),and the dissipation rate can reach 34 mol(m^(3) s)^(-1).The positive ion swarm is dominated by O_(4)^(+),and the maximum generation rate can reach 440 mol((m^(3) s)^(-1).The negative ion swarm is mainly O_(2) and O_(4).The O_(2) content is approximately 1.5-3 times that of O_(4),and the maximum reaction rate can reach 51 mol(m^(3) s)^(-1).The final destination of neutral particles is an accumulation in the form of O_(3) and NO,and the amount of O3 produced is approximately 4-6 times that of NO.The positive end of the bipolar corona is dominated by positive space charges, which continue to develop and spread outwards in the form of a pulse wave. The negative end exhibits a space charge distribution structure of concentrated positive charges and diffused negative charges. The validity of the microscopic simulation analysis is verified by the macroscopic discharge phenomenon. 展开更多

Successful breakthroughs have been made in shale oil exploration in several lacustrine basins in China, indicating a promising future for shale oil exploration and production.Current exploration results have revealed the following major conditions of lacustrine shale oil accumulation:(1)stable and widely distributed shale with a high organic abundance and appropriate thermal maturity acts as a fundamental basis for shale oil retention. This shale exhibits several critical parameters, such as total organic carbon content greater than 2%,with optimal values ranging from 3% to 4%,kerogen Ⅰ and Ⅱ_(1) as the dominant organic matter types, and vitrinite reflectance(R_(o))values greater than 0.9%(0.8% for brackish water environments).(2)Various types of reservoirs exhibiting brittleness and a certain volume of micro-nanoscale pores are critical conditions for shale oil accumulation, and these reservoirs have porosities greater than 3% to 6%.Moreover,when diagenesis is incipient, pure shales are not favorable for medium-to-high maturity shale oil enrichment, whereas tight sandstone and hybrid rocks with clay content less than 20% are favorable;however, for medium-to-late-stage diagenesis, pure shales with a clay content of 40% are favorable.(3)The retention of a large amount of high-quality hydrocarbons is the factor that best guarantees shale oil accumulation with good mobility.Free hydrocarbon content exceeding a threshold value of 2 mg/g is generally required, and the optimum value is 4 mg/g to 6 mg/g.Moreover,a gas-oil ratio exceeding a threshold value of 80 m^(3)/m^(3) is required, with the optimal value ranging from 150 m^(3)/m^(3) to 300 m^(3)/m^(3).(4)High-quality roof and floor sealing conditions are essential for the shale oil enrichment interval to maintain the overpressure and retain a sufficient amount of hydrocarbons with good quality.Lacustrine shale oil distributions exhibit the following characteristics:(1)major enrichment areas of shale oil are located in semi-deep to deep lacustrine depositional areas with external materials, such as volcanic ash fallout, hydrothermal solutions, and radioactive substances with catalytic action,as inputs;(2)intervals with“four high values and one preservation condition”govern the distribution of shale oil enrichment intervals;and(3)favorable assemblages of lithofacies/lithologies determine the distribution of enrichment area.According to preliminary estimates,China has 131×10^(8) to 163×10^(8) t of total shale oil resources with medium-to-high thermal maturity, among which 67×10^(8) to 84×10^(8) t is commercial. These resources are primarily located in the Chang 7^(1+2) interval in the Ordos Basin,Qing 1+2 members in Gulong sag in the Songliao Basin,Kongdian and Shahejie formations of Cangdong sag,Qikou sag and the Jiyang depression in the Bohai Bay Basin, and Lucaogou Formation in the Junggar Basin. 展开更多

The occurrence of landslides in Heifangtai plateau is primarily caused by the rise in water levels due to irrigation. To accurately understand the distribution of groundwater and its impact on the landslide hazard, a combination of Electrical Resistivity Tomography(ERT), Induced Polarization(IP) and Surface Nuclear Magnetic Resonance(SNMR) methods were used in this study. By conducting a comprehensive analysis, the characteristics of water-bearing structure in vertical and groundwater distribution in horizontal were detected;and the influence of the groundwater on plateau and landslides was also identified. The results indicate that the groundwater occurs in the loess aquifer with a three-layer structure in vertical.Horizontally, the aquifer has a unified water table over the plateau, with a low water level in the north and high one in the south. The high resistivity bedrock uplift belt in the middle of the plateau forms a watershed, with the north side of the uplift belt being a relatively stable slope area with stable water content and fewer geological disasters. In contrast, the south side of the uplift belt is a disaster-prone region with vertical fissures well developed in the loess aquifers. The southern landslides are characterized by the interphase distribution of high and low electrical resistivity. The infiltration and discharge of groundwater result in the formation of a collapse belt in the low resistivity water-bearing structure of landslide, which causes the entire block with high resistivity and stable bedrock to slide. There was a newly formed landslide in a larger range at the landslide' s trailing edge. This study provides a scientific basis for the study of landslides mechanisms and disaster prevention by identifying the distribution characteristics of groundwater and analyzing its influence from a geophysical perspective in Heifangtai. 展开更多

The soil fluorine contents of various forms varied greatly, and the distribution law was as follows: residual state>water soluble state>organically bound state>exchangeable state>Fe/Mn-F state. The residual fluorine content was the highest, accounting for more than 99% of total fluorine content, while the sum of other four forms was less than 1%, with their respective proportions ranging from 0.10% to 0.30%. The content and proportion of available fluorine in water-soluble and exchangeable states were relatively low, which had limited influence on the surrounding water environment and crop safety. The physicochemical properties of soil, such as pH, organic matter, cation exchange capacity and clay particles had a certain influence on the occurrence forms of soil fluorine, thus changing the availability and migration of soil fluorine, which might endanger the ecological environment safety, food safety and human health. 展开更多

The load types in low-voltage distribution systems are diverse. Some loads have current signals that are similar to series fault arcs, making it difficult to effectively detect fault arcs during their occurrence and sustained combustion, which can easily lead to serious electrical fire accidents. To address this issue, this paper establishes a fault arc prototype experimental platform, selects multiple commonly used loads for fault arc experiments, and collects data in both normal and fault states.By analyzing waveform characteristics and selecting fault discrimination feature indicators, corresponding feature values are extracted for qualitative analysis to explore changes in timefrequency characteristics of current before and after faults.Multiple features are then selected to form a multidimensional feature vector space to effectively reduce arc misjudgments and construct a fault discrimination feature database.Based on this,a fault arc hazard prediction model is built using random forests. The model’s multiple hyperparameters are simultaneously optimized through grid search, aiming tominimize node information entropy and complete model training, thereby enhancing model robustness and generalization ability.Through experimental verification, the proposed method accurately predicts and classifies fault arcs of different load types, with an average accuracy at least 1%higher than that of the commonly used fault predictionmethods compared in the paper. 展开更多

[Objectives]The paper was to study the fine root distribution characteristics of Populus cathayana plantations at different ages in alpine sandy land.[Methods]With 5,10,15,20,and 25 years old P.cathayana plantation in the eastern margin of Gonghe Basin,Qinghai Province as the research objects, fine roots were collected by root core drilling method, and the differences of fine root biomass, root length density, average diameter and root tip number at the soil depths of 0-20,20-40,40-60,60-80 and 80-100 cm were analyzed.[Results]The total biomass density of P.cathayana plantation was mainly distributed in the soil layer of 0-60 cm,accounting for 76%of the entire soil layer, and its value increased with the increase in forest age. With the increase in different forest ages, the root length density, average diameter and root tip number of living fine roots in the soil layer of 0-60 cm accounted for 74%-81%of the entire soil layer, and the proportions in the soil layers of 60-80 and 80-100 cm were 9%-11%.The biomass density, root length density, average diameter and root tip number of living and dead fine roots of P.cathayana plantation increased with the increase of forest age.The root length density, average diameter and root tip number of P.cathayana fine roots showed a linear function change trend with the growth of forest age, which could be described by the linear function equation y=ax+b(a>0).The analysis results showed that the root length density, average diameter and root tip number of P.cathayana were significantly correlated with the total biomass density of fine roots, and the root length density and average diameter had an extremely positive correlation with the total biomass density.[Conclusions]In the future,P.cathayana plantation should be properly tended to promote the development of fine roots and maximize its ecological benefits. 展开更多
