We started with the...The purpose of this paper is to analyze today＇s construction of sports news, and to see the way that media present the live sports events and how do livc sports events become global breaking news. We started with the theoretical background and we analyzed the audiences of the TV channels dedicated to sports. Media and violence is a well-known subject, and many theorists have analysed it but little research has been conducted about the effects that violence in sport news may have on people or society. Therefore, the aim of this study is to provide insights into these effects, to try to demonstrate that today＇s sports news does not focus on pcrformancc any more, but they have become a spectacle of violence and gossip. After reviewing the literature in order to gain a perspective on this topic, we focused on the complex reconstructive and subjective nature of news rcception, the different ways the audience constructs meaningful intcrpretations from the news, exposure to news and the construction of violent images of reality.展开更多

How to talk about what to proceed from reality, according to the principle of gradual and orderly, according to the level of the students and the ability to accept. English newspapers as fresh language, popular novel, close to the life of a corpus source that is the college English teaching has always attached importance to the reference materials. According to the rhetorical characteristics of English newspapers, we set the course, it is best to learn some rhetorical knowledge after the students to open the course, English majors can learn after the rhetoric can also be extended as the rhetoric class and homework. This paper proposes the new idea of dealing with mentioned issues that will promote the development of reading teaching of sports news.展开更多

Since English is the universal lan...With the widespread development of international sports events, more and more people pay attention to the international sports games by reading sports news or watching sports videos. Since English is the universal language, the news of these sports events is mostly reported in English. However,English sports news could bring some reading difficulties for Chinese readers. In the author's view, words are the basic elements of the English sports news language. It is of significance to study English sports news lexis. Under the guidance of Functional Equivalence Theory,this study attempts to explore the lexical features of English sports news and to analyze some useful lexical translation strategies. The results of the study show that Nida's Functional Equivalence Theory is applicable to the lexical translation of English sports news. It is recommended that translators follow Nida's equivalence theory during the translation.展开更多
