In the course of braking, all parameters of the pro cesses (velocity, load, temperature, physicomechanical and tribological characte ristics of materials of the couple, and conditions of contacts) vary with the ti me. Considerable evidence has show that the contact temperature is an integral f actor reflecting the specific power friction influence at the combined effect of load, speed, friction coefficient, thermo physical and durability properties of materials of a frictional couple. Furthermore, the physic mechanical state of t he interface of the disk and pads is determined not only by the contact temperat ure but also by the nonstationary temperature field. Using the two-dimensional model for thermal analysis implies that the contact conditions and frictiona l heat flux transfer are independent of θ. This may lead to false thermal elast ic distortions and unrealistic contact conditions. An analytical model is presen ted in this paper for the determination of contact temperature distribution on t he working surface of a brake. To consider the effects of the moving heat source (the pad) with relative sliding speed variation, a transient finite element tec hnique is used to characterize the temperature fields of the solid rotor with ap propriate thermal boundary conditions. And the transient heat conduction problem can be solved as a nominal 3-D transient heat transfer problem with an immovab le heat source. Numerical results shows that the operating characteristics of th e brake exert an essentially influence on the surface temperature distribution a nd the maximal contact temperature. The temperature field presents a noaxisymmet ric characteristic (a function of θ) and proves to be strongly localized and po ssesses a sharp gradient in both axial and radial directions.展开更多

This theoretical model was solved using a finite element method. The results show that the surface temperature of the steel disk does not increase consistently as a function of the radius; the highest temperature appears short of the maximum radius. The relationship between the surface temperature and the mixed friction time is exponential. With a friction time of 15 s, the tem-perature reached 465.9 °C. Simultaneously, the internal thermal stress is larger than the yield stress of the material, causing a warping deformation of the steel disk. The largest axial deformation is 0.32 mm. The results of the experiment suggest that the de-formation is the same as that obtained from numerical simulation. Therefore, deformation of the steel disk must be considered dur-ing the study of the characteristics of a HVD.展开更多

The transient temperature field, system temperature rise and the thermo-equilibrium state during the rotor starting-up are calculated considering only the copper loss and the eddy-current loss. The numerical results indicate that the temperatures in coils and in magnets rise rapidly, their thermo-equilibrium states are formed within a short time. Further analysis also indicates that if the surface temperature in the last five months of 2023 approaches the average level of the past five years, the annual average surface temperature anomaly in 2023 of approximately 1.26°C will break the previous highest surface temperature, which was recorded in 2016of approximately 1.25°C(both values relative to the global pre-industrialization period, i.e., the average value from 1850 to1900). With El Ni?o triggering a record-breaking hottest July, record-breaking average annual temperatures will most likely become a reality in 2023.展开更多

文摘We experimentally demonstrate that the dominant mechanism of single-event transients in silicon-germanium heterojunction bipolar transistors(SiGe HBTs)can change with decreasing temperature from+20℃to-180℃.This is accomplished by using a new well-designed cryogenic experimental system suitable for a pulsed-laser platform.Firstly, when the temperature drops from+20℃to-140℃,the increased carrier mobility drives a slight increase in transient amplitude. However,as the temperature decreases further below-140℃,the carrier freeze-out brings about an inflection point, which means the transient amplitude will decrease at cryogenic temperatures. To better understand this result,we analytically calculate the ionization rates of various dopants at different temperatures based on Altermatt's new incomplete ionization model. The parasitic resistivities with temperature on the charge-collection pathway are extracted by a two-dimensional(2D)TCAD process simulation. In addition,we investigate the impact of temperature on the novel electron-injection process from emitter to base under different bias conditions. The increase of the emitter-base junction's barrier height at low temperatures could suppress this electron-injection phenomenon. We have also optimized the built-in voltage equations of a high current compact model(HICUM)by introducing the impact of incomplete ionization. The present results and methods could provide a new reference for effective evaluation of single-event effects in bipolar transistors and circuits at cryogenic temperatures, and could provide a new evidence of the potential of SiGe technology in applications in extreme cryogenic environments.

文摘The variations of single event transient(SET)pulse width of high-LET heavy ion irradiation in 16-nm-thick bulk silicon fin field-effect transistor(Fin FET)inverter chains with different driven strengths are measured at different temperatures.Three-dimensional(3D)technology computer-aided design simulations are carried out to study the SET pulse width and saturation current varying with temperature.Experimental and simulation results indicate that the increase in temperature will enhance the parasitic bipolar effect of bulk Fin FET technology, resulting in the increase of SET pulse width. On the other hand, the increase of inverter driven strength will change the layout topology, which has a complex influence on the SET temperature effects of Fin FET inverter chains. The experimental and simulation results show that the device with the strongest driven strength has the least dependence on temperature.

文摘High temperatures are generated due to the sliding contacts between the rubbing surfaces of the friction clutch system. In this work,by considering the effective thermal contact conductance under sliding conditions,a simulation model of a two-dimensional transient temperature field of the clutch disc was developed.A numerical solution to obtain the surface temperature at different radii was presented based on the finite difference method.Compared with the experimental data, the proposed model for estimating the surface temperature is more accurate than the conventional prediction method. The results showed that the errors of the calculated temperatures at radii of 114 and 106 mm have obviously reduced by 12.98%and 12.60%,respectively.In addition, the influences of pressure and relative speed on the surface temperature were investigated. The temperature increases with the increase of the relative speed and pressure during the sliding period, and there is an interaction effect between pressure and speed on the surface temperature rise.

文摘A transient multi-physics model incorporated with an electromagneto-thermomechanical coupling is developed to capture the multi-field behavior of a single-pancake(SP)insert no-insulation(NI)coil in a hybrid magnet during the charging and discharging processes. The coupled problem is resolved by means of the finite element method(FEM)for the magneto-thermo-elastic behaviors and the Runge-Kutta method for the transient responses of the electrical circuits of the hybrid superconducting magnet system. The results reveal that the transient multi-physics responses of the insert NI coil primarily depend on the charging/discharging procedure of the hybrid magnet. Moreover,a reverse azimuthal current and a compressive hoop stress are induced in the insert NI coil during the charging process, while a forward azimuthal current and a tensile hoop stress are observed during the discharging process. The induced voltages in the insert NI coil can drive the currents flowing across the radial turns where the contact resistance exists. Therefore,it brings forth significant Joule heat, causing a temperature rise and a uniform distribution of this heat in the coil turns.Accordingly,a thermally/mechanically unstable or quenching event may be encountered when a high operating current is flowing in the insert NI coil.It is numerically predicted that a quick charging will induce a compressive hoop stress which may bring a risk of buckling instability in the coil, while a discharging will not.The simulations provide an insight of hybrid superconducting magnets under transient start-up or shutdown phases which are inevitably encountered in practical applications.

文摘According to the latest version(version 2.0) of the China global Merged Surface Temperature(CMST2.0) dataset, the global mean surface temperature(GMST) in the first half of 2023 reached its third warmest value since the period of instrumental observation began, being only slightly lower than the values recorded in 2016 and 2020, and historically record-breaking GMST emerged from May to July 2023. With El Ni?o triggering a record-breaking hottest July, record-breaking average annual temperatures will most likely become a reality in 2023.

文摘This article investigates a multi-circular path-following formation control with reinforced transient profiles for nonholonomic vehicles connected by a digraph.A multi-circular formation controller endowed with the feature of spatial-temporal decoupling is devised for a group of vehicles guided by a virtual leader evolving along an implicit path, which allows for a circumnavigation on multiple circles with an anticipant angular spacing. In addition, notice that it typically imposes a stringent time constraint on time-sensitive enclosing scenarios, hence an improved prescribed performance control(IPPC)using novel tighter behavior boundaries is presented to enhance transient capabilities with an ensured appointed-time convergence free from any overshoots. The significant merits are that coordinated circumnavigation along different circles can be realized via executing geometric and dynamic assignments independently with modified transient profiles.Furthermore, all variables existing in the entire system are analyzed to be convergent.Simulation and experimental results are provided to validate the utility of suggested solution.
