The primary water source is the Quaternary coastal alluvial aquifer. The groundwater salinity varies from 890to 8213 mg/L, with a mean value of 3417 mg/L. The dissolved major ions have been used to calculate the seawater mixing index(SWMI) using a linear equation that discriminates the groundwater mostly affected by water–rock interaction(SWMI 1>) and other samples mixed with Seawater(SWMI < 1). The isotopic composition of groundwater for specifically chosen groundwater samples ranges from-0.645‰ to +5.212‰ for δ^(18)O and from-9.582‰ to + 22.778‰ for δ^(2)H, where the seawater represented by a Red Sea water sample(δ^(18)O + 1.64‰-δ^(2)H + 9.80‰) and reject brine water are considerably enriched the isotopic groundwater values. Using a tight-binding lattice model, we show that the longitudinal and transverse conductances exhibit significant valley polarization in the low energy regime for small twist angles. As the twist angle increases, the valley polarization shifts to the high energy regime. This arises from the regrouping effect of the electron band in the twisted bilayer graphene region. But for relatively large twist angles, no significant valley polarization is observed. These results are consistent with the spectral densities of the twisted bilayer graphene.展开更多

The hysteresis was reversed by reversing the current direction, which illustrates the spin–momentum locking feature of Cd_(3)As_(2). Furthermore, we realized the on–off states of the spin signals through electric modulation of the Fermi arc via the three-terminal configuration, which enables the great potential of Cd_(3)As_(2) in spin field-effect transistors.展开更多

This study develops a regular latitude–longitude grid-based global three-dimensional tracer transport model that is computationally stable at large time-step sizes. The tracer model employs a finite-volume flux-form semiLagrangian transport scheme in the horizontal and an adaptively implicit algorithm in the vertical. The horizontal and vertical solvers are coupled via a straightforward operator-splitting technique. Both the finite-volume scheme's onedimensional slope-limiter and the adaptively implicit vertical solver's first-order upwind scheme enforce monotonicity. The tracer model permits a large time-step size and is inherently conservative and monotonic. Idealized advection test cases demonstrate that the three-dimensional transport model performs very well in terms of accuracy, stability, and efficiency. It is possible to use this robust transport model in a global atmospheric dynamical core.展开更多

文摘Leaf color mutants in higher plants are considered to be ideal materials for studying the chlorophyll biosynthesis, photosynthesis mechanism and chloroplast development.Herein,we identified a spontaneous mutant,yc412,in cultivated cucumber that exhibited yellow cotyledons. The yellow-lethal mutant was diagnosed with an abnormal chloroplast ultrastructure, and reduced photosynthetic capacity and pigment content.Through bulked segregant analysis-based whole-genome sequencing and fine genetic mapping,we narrowed the yellow cotyledons (yc) locus to a 96.8 kb interval on chromosome 3.By resequencing and molecular cloning,we showed that Csyc is a potential candidate gene, which encodes a yellow stripe-like (YSL) transporter. The T to C mutation in the promoter region of Csyc caused the yellow cotyledon phenotype in yc412.Compared to YZU027A (WT),the expression of Csyc was significantly downregulated in the cotyledons of yc412.Silencing of Csyc in cucumber via virus-induced gene silencing resulted in chlorotic leaves, mainly by suppressing the chlorophyll content.Furthermore,a comparative transcriptome analysis revealed that chloroplast-related genes and chlorophyll biosynthesis genes were significantly downregulated in yc412 cotyledons. Our results provide new insights into the molecular function of the YSL transporter in plant chloroplast development and chlorophyll synthesis.

文摘We study the valley-dependent electron transport in a four-terminal mesoscopic device of the two monolayer graphene nanoribbons vertically stacked together, where the intersection forms a bilayer graphene lattice with a controllable twist angle. These results are consistent with the spectral densities of the twisted bilayer graphene.

文摘The Sichuan-Tibet transportation corridor is prone to numerous active faults and frequent strong earthquakes. While extensive studies have individually explored the effect of active faults and strong earthquakes on different engineering structures, their combined effect remains unclear. This research employed multiple physical model tests to investigate the dynamic response of various engineering structures, including tunnels, bridges, and embankments, under the simultaneous influence of cumulative earthquakes and stick-slip misalignment of an active fault. The prototype selected for this study was the Kanding No.2 tunnel, which crosses the Yunongxi fault zone within the Sichuan-Tibet transportation corridor. The results demonstrated that the tunnel, bridge, and embankment exhibited amplification in response to the input seismic wave, with the amplification effect gradually decreasing as the input peak ground acceleration(PGA)increased. The PGAs of different engineering structures were weakened by the fault rupture zone.Nevertheless, the misalignment of the active fault may decrease the overall stiffness of the engineering structure, leading to more severe damage, with a small contribution from seismic vibration.Additionally, the seismic vibration effect might be enlarged with the height of the engineering structure, and the tunnel is supposed to have a smaller PGA and lower dynamic earth pressure compared to bridges and embankments in strong earthquake zones crossing active faults. The findings contribute valuable insights for evaluating the dynamic response of various engineering structures crossing an active fault and provide an experimental reference for secure engineering design in the challenging conditions of the Sichuan-Tibet transportation corridor.

文摘Deepsea mining has been proposed since the 1960s to alleviate the lack of resources on land.Vertical hydraulic transport of collected ores from the seabed to the sea surface is considered the most promising method for industrial applications. In the present study,an indoor model test of the vertical hydraulic transport of particles was conducted.A noncontact optical method has been proposed to measure the local characteristics of the particles inside a vertical pipe, including the local concentration and particle velocity. The hydraulic gradient of ore transport was evaluated with various particle size distributions, particle densities, feeding concentrations and mixture flow velocities.During transport, the local concentration is larger than the feeding concentration, whereas the particle velocity is less than the mixture velocity. The qualitative effects of the local concentration and local fluid velocity on the particle velocity and slip velocity were investigated. The local fluid velocity contributes significantly to particle velocity and slip velocity, whereas the effect of the local concentration is marginal.A higher feeding concentration and mixture flow velocity result in an increased hydraulic gradient. The effect of the particle size gradation is slight, whereas the particle density plays a crucial role in the transport.

文摘Earthquake-related hydrochemical changes in thermal springs have been widely observed;however, quantitative modeling of the reactive transport process is absent. In the present study,we apply reactive transport simulation to capture the hydrochemical responses in a thermal spring following the Wenchuan Ms 8.0 and Lushan Ms 7.0 earthquakes. We first constrain deep reservoir geothermal fluid compositions and temperature by multicomponent geothermometry, and then a reactive geochemical transport model is constructed to reproduce the hydrochemical evolution process. The results show that the recharge from the shallow aquifer increases gradually until it reaches a peak because of the permeability enhancement caused by the Lushan earthquake, which may be the mechanism to explain the earthquake-related hydrochemical responses. In contrast to the postseismic effect of the Wenchuan earthquake, the chemical evolution can be considered as hydrochemical anomalies related to the Lushan earthquake. This study proves that the efficient simulation of reactive transport processes is useful for investigating earthquake-related signals in hydrochemical time series.

文摘Bismuthene,an inherently hexagonal structure characterized by a huge bulk gap, offers a versatile platform for investigating the electronic transport of various topological quantum states.Using nonequilibrium Green's function method and Landauer-Büttiker formula,we thoroughly investigate the transport properties of various Hall-type quantum states, including quantum spin Hall(QSH)edge states, quantum valley Hall kink(QVHK)states, and quantum spin-valley Hall kink(QSVHK)states,in the presence of various disorders.Based on the exotic transport features,a spin-valley filter, capable of generating a highly spin-and valley-polarized current,is proposed. The valley index and the spin index of the filtered QSVHK state are determined by the staggered potential and the intrinsic spin-orbit coupling, respectively. The efficiency of the spin-valley filter is supported by the spacial current distribution, the valley-resolved conductance, and the spin-resolved conductance.Compared with a sandwich structure for QSVHK,our proposed spin-valley filter can work with a much smaller size and is more accessible in the experiment.

文摘Through equilibrium and non-equilibrium molecular dynamics simulations,we have demonstrated the inhibitory effect of composition graded interface on thermal transport behavior in lateral heterostructures.Specifically,we investigated the influence of composition gradient length and heterogeneous particles at the silicene/germanene(SIL/GER)heterostructure interface on heat conduction. Our results indicate that composition graded interface at the interface diminishes the thermal conductivity of the heterostructure, with a further reduction observed as the length increases, while the effect of the heterogeneous particles can be considered negligible. To unveil the influence of composition graded interface on thermal transport,we conducted phonon analysis and identified the presence of phonon localization within the interface composition graded region.Through these analyses,we have determined that the decrease in thermal conductivity is correlated with phonon localization within the heterostructure, where a stronger degree of phonon localization signifies poorer thermal conductivity in the material. Our research findings not only contribute to understanding the impact of interface gradient-induced phonon localization on thermal transport but also offer insights into the modulation of thermal conductivity in heterostructures.

文摘Appropriate drying process with optimized controlling of drying parameters plays a vital role in the improvement of the quality and performance of propellant products. However, few research on solvent transport dynamics within NC-based propellants was reported, and its effect on the evolution of mechanical properties was not interpreted yet. This study is conducted to gain a comprehensive understanding of hot-air drying for NC-based propellants and clarify the effect of temperature on solvent transport behavior and further the change of mechanical properties during drying. The drying kinetic curves show the drying time required is decreased but the steady solvent content is increased and the drying rate is obviously increased with the increase of hot-air temperatures, indicating hot-air temperatures have a significant effect on drying kinetics.A modified drying model was established, and results show it is more appropriate to describe solvent transport behavior within NC-based propellants. Moreover, two linear equations were established to exhibit the relationship between solvent content and its effect on the change of tensile properties, and the decrease of residual solvent content causes an obvious increase of tensile strength and tensile modulus of propellant products, indicating its mechanical properties can be partly improved by adjustment of residual solvent content. The outcomes can be used to clarify solvent transport mechanisms and optimize drying process parameters of double-based gun propellants.

文摘The study evaluated the stability of an oligopeptide(Lys-Arg-Gln-Lys-Tyr-Asp,KRQKYD)and its transport mechanism by simulating gastrointestinal digestion and a model of human intestinal Caco-2 monolayer cells in vitro. In this study, the effects of environmental factors(temperature,pH and NaCl concentration)and simulated gastrointestinal digestion on the stability of KRQKYD were evaluated by indicators of the levels of alanine transaminase(ALT),aspartate transaminase(AST)and malondialdehyde(MDA)in an alcoholinduced hepatocyte injury model. The results showed that KRQKYD still maintained satisfactory hepatocyteprotective activity after treatment with different temperatures(20-80℃),pH(3.0-9.0),NaCl concentration(1%-7%)and simulated gastrointestinal digestion, which indicated that KRQKYD showed good stability to environmental factors and simulated gastrointestinal digestion.Furthermore, the intact KRQKYD could be absorbed in a model of Caco-2 monolayer cells with a P_(app)value of(9.70±0.53)×10^(-7)cm/s.Pretreatment with an energy inhibitor(sodium azide),a competitive peptide transporter inhibitor(Gly-Pro)and a transcytosis inhibitor wortmannin did not decrease the level of transepithelial KRQKYD transport, indicating that the transport mechanism of KRQKYD was not associated with energy dependent, vector mediated and endocytosis. The tight junction disruptor cytochalasin D significantly increased the level of transepithelial KRQKYD transport(P<0.05),suggesting that intact KRQKYD was absorbed by paracellular transport.

文摘Spin–momentum locking is a key feature of the topological surface state, which plays an important role in spintronics. The electrical detection of current-induced spin polarization protected by the spin–momentum locking in nonmagnetic systems provides a new platform for developing spintronics, while previous studies were mostly based on magnetic materials. In this study, the spin transport measurement of Dirac semimetal Cd_(3)As_(2) was studied by three-terminal geometry, and a hysteresis loop signal with high resistance and low resistance state was observed. The hysteresis was reversed by reversing the current direction, which illustrates the spin–momentum locking feature of Cd_(3)As_(2). Furthermore, we realized the on–off states of the spin signals through electric modulation of the Fermi arc via the three-terminal configuration, which enables the great potential of Cd_(3)As_(2) in spin field-effect transistors.

文摘In this study,we put forward a radiative-convective-transportive energy balance model of a gray atmosphere to examine individual roles of the greenhouse effect of water vapor, vertical convection, and atmospheric poleward energy transport as well as their combined effects for a quasi-linear relationship between the outgoing longwave radiation(OLR)and surface temperature(T_(S)).The greenhouse effect of water vapor enhances the meridional gradient of surface temperature, thereby directly contributing to a quasi-linear OLR-T_(S) relationship. The atmospheric poleward energy transport decreases the meridional gradient of surface temperature. As a result of the poleward energy transport,tropical(high-latitude)atmosphere-surface columns emit less(more)OLR than the solar energy input at their respective locations, causing a substantial reduction of the meridional gradient of the OLR.The combined effect of reducing the meridional gradients of both OLR and surface temperature by the poleward energy transport also contributes to the quasi-linear OLR-T_(S) relationship.Vertical convective energy transport reduces the meridional gradient of surface temperature without affecting the meridional gradient of OLR,thereby suppressing part of the reduction to the increasing rate of OLR with surface temperature by the greenhouse effect of water vapor and poleward energy transport.Because of the nature of the energy balance in the climate system, such a quasi-linear relationship is also a good approximation for the relationship between the annual-mean net downward solar energy flux at the top of the atmosphere and surface temperature.

文摘If an explicit time scheme is used in a numerical model, the size of the integration time step is typically limited by the spatial resolution. It is possible to use this robust transport model in a global atmospheric dynamical core.

文摘The effects of impurities on ion temperature gradient(ITG)driven turbulence transport in tokamak core plasmas are investigated numerically via global simulations of microturbulence with carbon impurities and adiabatic electrons. The simulations use an extended fluid code(ExFC)based on a four-field gyro-Landau-fluid(GLF)model.The multispecies form of the normalized GLF equations is presented, which guarantees the self-consistent evolution of both bulk ions and impurities. With parametric profiles of the cyclone base case,well-benchmarked ExFC is employed to perform simulations focusing on different impurity density profiles. For a fixed temperature profile,it is found that the turbulent heat diffusivity of bulk ions in a quasi-steady state is usually lower than that without impurities, which is contrary to the linear and quasilinear predictions. The evolutions of the temperature gradient and heat diffusivity exhibit a fast relaxation process, indicating that the destabilization of the outwardly peaked impurity profile is a transient state response.Furthermore, the impurity effects from different profiles can obviously influence the nonlinear critical temperature gradient, which is likely to be dominated by linear effects. These results suggest that the improvement in plasma confinement could be attributed to the impurities, most likely through adjusting both heat diffusivity and the critical temperature gradient.

文摘Industry decarbonization requires the development of highly efficient and flexible technologies relying on renewable energy resources, especially biomass and solar/wind electricity. In the case of pure oxygen production, oxygen transport membranes(OTMs)appear as an alternative technology for the cryogenic distillation of air,the industrially-established process of producing oxygen. Moreover,OTMs could provide oxygen from different sources(air,water,CO_(2),etc.),and they are more flexible in adapting to current processes, producing oxygen at 700^(-1)000℃.Furthermore,OTMs can be integrated into catalytic membrane reactors, providing new pathways for different processes. The first part of this study was focused on electrification on a traditional OTM material(Ba_(0.5)Sr_(0.5)Co_(0.8)Fe_(0.2)O_(3-δ)),imposing different electric currents/voltages along a capillary membrane. Thanks to the emerging Joule effect, the membrane-surface temperature and the associated O_(2)permeation flux could be adjusted. Here, the OTM is electrically and locally heated and reaches 900℃on the surface, whereas the surrounding of the membrane was maintained at 650℃.The O_(2)permeation flux reached for the electrified membranes was~3.7 NmL min^(-1)cm^(-2),corresponding to the flux obtained with an OTM non-electrified at 900℃.The influence of depositing a porous Ce_(0.8)Tb_(0.2)O_(2)-δcatalytic/protective layer on the outer membrane surface revealed that lower surface temperatures(830℃)were detected at the same imposed electric power. Finally, the electrification concept was demonstrated in a catalytic membrane reactor(CMR)where the oxidative dehydrogenation of ethane(ODHE)was carried out.ODHE reaction is very sensitive to temperature, and here,we demonstrate an improvement of the ethylene yield by reaching moderate temperatures in the reaction chamber while the O_(2)injection into the reaction can be easily fine-tuned.
