Vector control schemes have recently been used to drive linear induction motors(LIM)in high-performance applications.This trend promotes the development of precise and efficient control schemes for individual motors.This research aims to present a novel framework for speed and thrust force control of LIM using space vector pulse width modulation(SVPWM)inverters.The framework under consideration is developed in four stages.To begin,MATLAB Simulink was used to develop a detailed mathematical and electromechanical dynamicmodel.The research presents a modified SVPWM inverter control scheme.By tuning the proportional-integral(PI)controller with a transfer function,optimized values for the PI controller are derived.All the subsystems mentioned above are integrated to create a robust simulation of the LIM’s precise speed and thrust force control scheme.The reference speed values were chosen to evaluate the performance of the respective system,and the developed system’s response was verified using various data sets.For the low-speed range,a reference value of 10m/s is used,while a reference value of 100 m/s is used for the high-speed range.The speed output response indicates that themotor reached reference speed in amatter of seconds,as the delay time is between 8 and 10 s.The maximum amplitude of thrust achieved is less than 400N,demonstrating the controller’s capability to control a high-speed LIM with minimal thrust ripple.Due to the controlled speed range,the developed system is highly recommended for low-speed and high-speed and heavy-duty traction applications. 展开更多

Human Habitats and Malaria Vector Control in Benin: Current Situation and Implications for Effective Control

Long-lasting insecticide-treated nets (LLINs) and indoor residual spraying (IRS) are the main indoor malaria vector tools control tools. The study examined housing characteristics and investigated the relationship between the total volume of household possessions, the volume of the sleeping room, and the hanging of LLINs. A total of 831 bedrooms were randomly selected in Benin in 2015. The findings showed that mud walls were predominant in rural areas (more than 75%), while metal roofs were common (77.3% - 97.9%). Battery-powered lighting was prevalent in rural areas in Northern (97%), while open-flame oil lamps were commonly used in rural areas in Southern (86%). The availability of correct bedding was low, ranging from 1% to 10% in all households. 20% of the bedrooms had at least 50% of their volume occupied by household possessions in urban areas. In rural areas, bedrooms without LLINs had a lower mean rate ratio of the volume occupied by possessions per the total volume of the room compared to bedrooms with at least one LLIN installed (p < 0.0001). The characteristics of human habitats are not favourable to the correct use of vector control intervention indoors. It is therefore important to improve people’s living conditions as the next step for malaria elimination. 展开更多

It is, therefore, with th... The anarchic urbanization of certain African cities favors the multiplication of the malaria parasite. Thus, the urgent mobilization of African cities is essential to combat this health risk. It is, therefore, with the objective of contributing to the investigation of problem areas that the present study evaluates malaria transmission and vector control strategies in the Cotonou V health zone in particular. This is a cross-sectional study taking into account four neighborhoods, including Wologuèdè, Sainte Rita, Gbèdjromèdé and the area around Etoile Rouge. Two nocturnal captures on voluntary humans and the method of spray were carried out in the dry season from December 2021 to February 2022. On the captured Anopheles, the ELISA Circum-Sporozoite Protein test was performed to determine the infectivity and calculate some transmission parameters. Finally, we conducted a survey using the second stage sampling method with one step to ask selected households about their knowledge of vector control methods, their use and the physical integrity of LLINs. We collected 2386 culicidae of which the majority was Culex quinquefasciatus. After the ELISA test, the 29 Anopheles tested, showed no infectivity, i.e. an EIR of 0 pi/h/n. In addition, 99% of the populations in the Cotonou V area use LLINs to protect themselves. However, coils, door and window screens, aerosol sprays, skin and household repellents, and periodic indoor spraying were used. Finally, the majority of nets observed had T1 tears, but there were also T2, T3 and T4 nets (P-value = 0.0). This study confirms that malaria transmission during the dry season in the Cotonou V health zone is almost negligible but not non-existent. Also, populations are exposed to the nuisance of Culex quinquefasciatus mosquitoes continuously throughout the year. 展开更多

With this method, two rotor flux components are selected as the state variables, and the rotor speed as an estimated parameter is regarded as an augmented state variable. The algorithm with reduced order decreases the computational complexity and makes the proposed estimator feasible to be implemented in real time. The simulation results show high accuracy of the estimation algorithm and good performance of speed control, and verify the usefulness of the proposed algorithm. 展开更多

Simplified vector control, which has simple control structure, is utilized as the permanent magnet synchronous motor control algorithm and genetic algorithm is used to tune three PI controllers used in simplified vector control. The control performance is obtained from simulation and investigated to verify the feasibility of the algorithm to be applied in the real application. Simulation results show that the speed and torque responses of the system in both continuous time and discrete time can achieve good performances. Furthermore, simplified vector control combined with genetic algorithm has a similar perfofmance with conventional field oriented control algorithm and possible to be realized into the real simple application in the future. 展开更多

A speed-sensorless vector control system for induction machines (IMs)is presented, According to the vector control theory of IMs, the rotor flux is estimated based on a flux observer,and the speed is estimated through the method of q-axis rotor flux converging on zero with proportional integral regulator, A 0.75 kW,50 Hz,two-pole induction machine was used in the simulation and experimental verification, The simulation model was constructed in Matlab. A series of tests were performed in the field weakening region, for both no-load and loaded operation. The estimated speed tracks the actual speed well in the based speed region and field weakening region ( 1 per unit value to 4 per unit value). In some field-oriented algorithms, the integrator of observers and the dead-time effect bring in system errors during the estimation of field position. In this paper, a saturated feedback integrator is used, and the dead-time effect is compen- sated by current positive feedback. Experiments were carried out on the hardware platform of MCK2407, with chip TMS320LF2407 from TI Company. The results show that the prooosed method is simole and effective, and the accuracy of field position is improved. 展开更多

A vector control system for electric vehicle (EV) induction motor drive system is designed and developed. Its hardware system based on dual CPU(microcomputer 80C196KC and DSP TMS320F2407) is implemented. The fundamental mathematics equations of induction motor in the general synchronously rotating reference frame ( M T frame) used for vector control are achieved by coordinate transformation. Rotor flux equation and torque equation are deduced. According to these equations, an induction motor mathematical model and rotor flux observer model are built separately. The rotor flux field oriented vector control method is implemented based on these models in system software, some of the simulation results with Matab/Simulink are given. The simulation results show that the vector control system for EV induction motor drive system has better static and dynamic performance, and the rotor flux field oriented vector control method was practically verified. 展开更多

The transition from empirical and applied approach toward a scientific approach in modem medical disinsection is a result of the discoveries of the organic chemistry. The most intensive used substance in this fteld-DDT (dichlorodiphenyltrichloroethane) is introduced during World War II and contributes to world practical epidemiology just as antibiotics in clinical medicine. However, after the 70s, this substance was placed under a ban, because of the accumulated evidence of many adverse health and environmental impacts globally. Improvement of the insecticides after "DDT-era" is represented by the introduction of organophosphate and carbamate insecticides in the 1960s. Their broad application is determined by better ecotoxicological characteristics. The advance in biotechnology after the 1980s establishes the new class of insecticides-synthetic pyrethroids. Nowadays they are basic for the insect control. Pyrethroids are characterized by selective impact on insects with much less impact on warm-blooded animals and the environment. Insecticides from the newest class insect growth regulators realize their mode of activity by interfering with chitin metabolism and thus prevent an insect from reaching maturity. These substances have extremely low toxicity, which makes them very promising for the treatment of civilian and military facilities. 展开更多

In this paper,a new method for adjusting the current of three-phase voltage source DC-AC converter in orthogonal(DQ)reference frame is presented.In the DQ reference system,AC variable appears in the constant form of DC,making the controller design the same as the DC-DC converter[1].It provides controllable gain benefits at the steady-state operating point,and finally realizes zero steady-state error[2].In addition,the creative analytical model is dedicated to building up a series of virtual quantities orthogonal to the actual single-phase system.In general,orthogonal imaginary numbers get the reference signal by delaying the real quantity by a quarter period.However,the introduction of such time delay makes the dynamic response of the system worse.In this paper,orthogonal quantities are generated from a virtual axis system parallel to the real axis,which can effectively improve the dynamic performance of traditional methods without increasing the complexity of controller structure.Through PSCAD simulation,the ideal experimental results are obtained. 展开更多

A vector control based on the extended equivalent circuit and virtual circuits is proposed for the single-phase inverter.By the extended circuit,the other two phase voltages can be extended by the output voltage of the single-phase inverter so as to construct the voltage vector.The voltage outer-loop is to control the voltage vector in dq coordinate system,and the output voltage can track the target value without deviation in steady state.By designing the virtual circuit,the voltage inner-loop can achieve approximate decoupling and improve the dynamic response under the changeable load.Compared with the traditional dual closed-loop control,the proposed dual closed-loop control scheme only needs to detect and control the voltage without the current.It not only can achieve good control effect,but also reduce the complexity of the hardware.Finally,the simulation and experimental results show that the single-phase inverter has good static and dynamic characteristics regardless of stable load or changeable load. 展开更多

Under phase(s) loss, the machine currents can be optimally controlled to satisfy certain optimization criteria. In this paper, a vector control scheme to a five-phase induction machine is introduced to ensure equal phase currents and minimum torque ripples under a phase open circuit. The controller idea can be extended to any number of phases with any number of open phases. The fundamental dq components of the stator voltage are obtained using only two PI controllers for the fundamental sequence plane, as in conventional vector control of three-phase machines. Based on steady state model, a simple expression is derived to estimate the required dq voltage components of other sequence planes to ensure equal stator phase currents and minimum torque ripple. A five-phase machine is simulated using MATLAB/Simulink to ensure controller validity. 展开更多

Reprogrammable metasurfaces,which establish a fascinating bridge between physical and information domains,can dynamically control electromagnetic(EM)waves in real time and thus have attracted great attentions from researchers around the world.To control EM waves with an arbitrary polarization state,it is desirable that a complete set of basis states be controlled independently since incident EM waves with an arbitrary polarization state can be decomposed as a linear sum of these basis states.In this work,we present the concept of complete-basis-reprogrammable coding metasurface(CBR-CM)in reflective manners,which can achieve independently dynamic controls over the reflection phases while maintaining the same amplitude for left-handed circularly polarized(LCP)waves and right-handed circularly polarized(RCP)waves.Since LCP and RCP waves together constitute a complete basis set of planar EM waves,dynamicallycontrolled holograms can be generated under arbitrarily polarized wave incidence.The dynamically reconfigurable metaparticle is implemented to demonstrate the CBR-CM’s robust capability of controlling the longitudinal and transverse positions of holograms under LCP and RCP waves independently.It’s expected that the proposed CBR-CM opens up ways of realizing more sophisticated and advanced devices with multiple independent information channels,which may provide technical assistance for digital EM environment reproduction. 展开更多

The error caused by irreversible demagnetization damages the accurate velocity tracking of an in-wheel motor in a mobile robot.A current feedforward vector control system based on ESO is proposed to compensate it for the demagnetization motor.A demagnetization mathematical model is established to describe a permanent magnet synchronous motor,which took the change of permanent magnet flux linkage parameters as a factor to count the demagnetization error in velocity tracking.The uncertain disturbance estimation model of the control system is built based on ESO,which eliminates the system error by the feedforward current compensation.It is compared with the vector control method in terms of control accuracy.The simulation results show that the current feedforward vector control method based on ESO reduces the velocity tracking error greatly in conditions of motor demagnetization less than 30%.It is effective to improve the operation accuracy of the mobile robot. 展开更多
