A triangle of normalized layer thickness was created for describing thickness ratios of HDA/PEO coatings. Then, the effect of thickness ratio on stresses field of HDA/PEO coatings subjected to uniform normal contact load was investigated by finite element method. Results show that the surface tensile stress is mainly affected by the thickness ratio of Al layer when the total thickness of coating is unchanged. With the increase of Al layer thickness, the surface tensile stress rises quickly. When Al2O3 layer thickness increases, surface tensile stress is diminished. Meanwhile, the maximum shear stress moves rapidly towards internal part of HDA/PEO coatings. Shear stress at the Al2O3 /Al interface is minimal when Al2O3 layer and Al layer have the same thickness.展开更多

A feasible way to avoid the excessive storage demand is to reconstruct the source wavefield backward in time by storing the entire history of the wavefield in perfectly matched layers. In this paper, we make full use of the elementwise global property of the Laplace operator of the spectral element method (SEM) and propose an efficient source wavefield reconstruction method at the cost of storing the wavefield history only at single boundary layer nodes. Numerical experiments indicate that the accuracy of the proposed method is identical to that of the conventional method and is independent of the order of the Lagrange polynomials, the element type, and the temporal discretization method. In contrast, the memory-saving ratios of the conventional method versus our method is at least N when using either quadrilateral or hexahedron elements, respectively, where N is the order of the Lagrange polynomials used in the SEM. A higher memorysaving ratio is achieved with triangular elements versus quadrilaterals. The new method is applied to reverse time migration by considering the Marmousi model as a benchmark. Numerical results demonstrate that the method is able to provide the same result as the conventional method but with about 1/25 times lower storage demand. With the proposed wavefield reconstruction method, the storage demand is dramatically reduced;therefore, in-core memory storage is feasible even for large-scale three-dimensional adjoint inversion problems.展开更多

The experimental results show that increasing C and Cr content favors improving the erosion resistance of the layer, and the excessive C and Cr result in decreasing the erosion resistance at 90 deg. erosion. That Mo, Nb or Ti improves the erosion resistance of Fe-C-Cr weld surfacing layer is mainly attributed to increasing the amount of M7C3 and forming fine NbC or TiC in austenite matrix, but the excessive Mo, Nb or Ti is unfavorable. The addition of Mo, Nb and Ti in proper combination possesses stronger effect on improving the erosion resistance and the erosion resistance (εA) of Fe-C-Cr weld surfacing layer with fine NbC, TiC and M7C3 distributing uniformly in austenite matrix obviously increases to 2.81 at 15 deg. erosion and 2.88 at 90 deg. erosion when the layer composition is 3.05C, 20.58Cr, 1.88Mo, 2.00Nb and 1.05Ti (in wt pct).展开更多

The results show that microstructures of the layer mainly consist of carbides and austenite matrix. Increasing C and Cr contents impair the crack resistance of the layer due to increased amount of brittle carbides. The addition of Ni, Nb or Mo improves the crack resistance of Fe-C-Cr weld surfacing layer by increasing the amount of austenite and forming fine NbC or M 7C 3 carbides in the layer. But, the excessive Nb (>2.50wt%) or Mo (>1.88wt%) impairs the crack resistance of the layer, which has relation with increased carbides or carbide coarsening and austenite matrix solid solution strengthening. The proper combination of C, Cr, Ni, Nb and Mo can further improve not only the crack resistance of Fe-C-Cr weld surfacing layer but also the erosion resistance as a result of fine NbC and M 7C 3 carbides distributing uniformly in austenite matrix. The optimal layer compositions are 3.05wt%C, 20.58wt%Cr, 1.75wt%Ni, 2.00wt%Nb and 1.88wt%Mo.展开更多

By applying axisymmetric finite element method (FEM),an expression relating the surface settlement and the reaction of the layered soil can be obtained. Such a reaction can be treated as load acting on the applied external load. Having the plate modelled by four-node elements, the governing equation of the plate can be formed and solved. In this case, the fundamental solution can be introduced into the global soil stiffness matrix and five-node or nine-node element soil stiffness matrix. The existing commercial FEM software can be used to solve the fundamental solution of soil, which can bypass the complicated formula derivation and boasts high computational efficiency as well.展开更多

V-bending test was performed to understand better the fracture of coating layer of GA steel sheet during plastic deformation. Yield strength of the coating layer was calculated by using a relative difference between hardness of coating layer measured from the nano-indentation test and that of substrate. To measure shearing strength at the interface between substrate and coating layer, shearing test with two specimens attached by an adhesive was carried out. Using the mechanical properties measured, a series of finite element analyses coupled with a failure model was performed. Results reveal that the fracture of coating layer occurs in an irregular manner at the region where compressive deformation is dominant. Meanwhile, a series of vertical cracks perpendicular to material surface are observed at the tensile stressed-region. It is found that 0.26-0.28 of local equivalent plastic strain exists at the coating and substrate at the beginning of failure. The fracture of coating layer depends on ductility of the coating layer considerably as well.展开更多

文摘Effects of alloy elements on the microstructure and crack resistance of Fe-C-Cr weld surfacing layer were investigated. The optimal layer compositions are 3.05wt%C, 20.58wt%Cr, 1.75wt%Ni, 2.00wt%Nb and 1.88wt%Mo.
文摘To obtain the fundamental solution of soil has become the key problem for the semi-analytical and semi-numerical (SASN) method in analyzing plate on layered soil. The existing commercial FEM software can be used to solve the fundamental solution of soil, which can bypass the complicated formula derivation and boasts high computational efficiency as well.

文摘Many rock avalanches were triggered by the Wenchuan earthquake on May 12,2008 in southwest China.Protection galleries covered with a single soil layer are usually used to protect against rockfall.Since one-layer protection galleries do not have sufficient buffer capacity,a two-layered absorbing system has been designed. This study aims to find whether an expanded poly-styrol(EPS) cushion, which is used in the soil-covered protection galleries for shock absorption, could be positioned under dynamic loadings. The dynamic impacts of the two-layered absorbing system under the conditions ofrock avalanches are numerically simulated through a 2D discrete element method.By selecting reasonable parameters,a series of numerical experiments were conducted to find the best combination for the twolayered absorbing system. The values of the EPS layer area as a percentage of the total area were set as 0%(S1),22%(S2),and 70%(S3).22% of the area of the EPS layer was found to be a reasonable value, and experiments were conducted to find the best position of the EPS layer in the two-layered absorbing system. The numerical results yield useful conclusions regarding the interaction between the impacting avalanches and the two-layered absorbing system. The soil layer can absorb the shock energy effectively and S2(0.4-m thick EPS cushion covered with soillayer) is the most efficient combination, which can reduce the impact force, compared with the other combinations.

文摘Statistical analysis of turbulent and gusty characteristics in the atmospheric boundary layer under weak wind period has been carried out.The data used in the analysis were from the multilevel ultrasonic anemometer-thermometers at 47 m,120 m,and 280 m levels on Beijing 325 m meteorological tower. The time series of 3D atmospheric velocity were analyzed by using conventional Fourier spectral analysis and decompose into three parts:basic mean flow(period > 10 min),gusty disturbances(1 min < period < 10 min)and turbulence fluctuations(period < 1 min). The results show that under weak mean wind condition:1)the gusty disturbances are the most strong fluctuations, contribute about 60% kinetic energy of eddy kinetic energy and 80% downward flux of momentum, although both the eddy kinetic energy and momentum transport are small in comparison with those in strong mean wind condition;2)the gusty wind disturbances are anisotropic;3)the gusty wind disturbances have obviously coherent structure, and their horizontal and vertical component are negatively correlated and make downward transport of momentum more effectively;4)the friction velocities related to turbulence and gusty wind are approximately constant with height in the surface layer.

文摘China's continental crust (CCC)has an average thickness of 47km,with the uppercontinental crust (CUCC)being 31 km and the sedimentary layer(CSL)5 km in thickness. The CCC,CUCC and CSL measure 12.437×10^17,8.005×10^17 and 1.146×10^17 metric tons in mass, respectively. The mass ratio of the upper continental crust to the lower one is 1.8:1.The element abundances were calculated for the CCC,CUCC and CSL respectively in terms of the chemical compositions of 2246 samples of various types and some complementary trace element data. The total abundance of 13 major elements accounts for 99.6% of the CCC mass while the other minor elements only account for 0.4%.REE characteristics, the abundance ratios of element pairs and the amounts of ore-forming elements are also discussed in the present paper.

文摘In this paper, finite element method(FEM)is used to solve two-dimensional diffu-sion-reaction equations of boundary layer type. This kind of equations are usually too complicatedand diffcult to be solved by applying the traditional methods used in chemical engineering becauseof the steep gradients of concentration and temperature. But,these difficulties are easy to be over-comed when the FEM is used. The integraded steps of solving this kind of problems by the FEMare presented in this paper.By applying the FEM to the two actual examples, the conclusion can bereached that the FEM has the advantages of simplicity and good accuracy.

文摘Mechanical properties of galvannealed (GA) steel sheet used for automotive exposed panel and predicted failure phenomenon of its coating layer were evaluated using finite element method. The fracture of coating layer depends on ductility of the coating layer considerably as well.

文摘The behavior of the active layer of material bed within rotary kilns plays a key role in industrial applications. To obtain its influences on industrial process, different regimes of particle motion have been simulated by discrete element method(DEM) in three dimensions under variant rotation speeds, filling degree, based on the background of induration process of iron ore pellets. The influences of the mentioned factors on the maximum thickness of the active layer and the average velocity of particles have been investigated. The average velocity of particles increases with Froude number following the power function over a wide range, and the maximum thickness rises with increasing rotation speed in a way of logarithm. The influence of the filling degree f on the maximum thickness exhibits a good linearity under two classic regimes, but the increasing of the average velocity of the active layer is limited at f=0.4.This basic research highlights the impact of the active layer within rotary kilns, and lays a good foundation for the further investigation in mixing and heat transfer within the particle bed inside rotary kilns.
文摘The analytical layer-elements for a single poroelastic soil layer and the underlying half-space are established using an algebraic manipulation and Hankel transform. According to the boundary conditions and adjacent continuity conditions of general stresses and displacements, a global matrix equation in the transform domain for multilayered saturated soil media is assembled and solved. Solutions in the frequency domain can be further obtained with an inverse Hankel transform. Numerical examples are used to examine accuracy of the present method and demonstrate effects of soil parameters and load conditions on dynamic responses of the multilayered poroelastic saturated soils.
