This study conducted an investigation and analysis of plant composition and diversity in three different water-level-fluctuating zones(WLFZs)of Hunan Province to explore the plant variety and succession trend in diffe...This study conducted an investigation and analysis of plant composition and diversity in three different water-level-fluctuating zones(WLFZs)of Hunan Province to explore the plant variety and succession trend in different WLFZs.The results revealed that the three WLFZs had a total of 32 families,75 genera,and 94 species of plants,dominated by Gramineae and Compositae.In terms of importance value(IV),Gramineae was the highest,followed by Polygonaceae,and perennial herbaceous plants were much higher than annual and biennial herbaceous plants.Dominant species included Roegneria kamoji,Cynodon dactylon,Paspalum distichum,Rumex acetosa,Polygonum hydropiper,Rorippa indica,Brassica juncea,Carex viridis,Alternanthera sessilis,and Daucus carota L..The plant richness,diversity,and evenness in WLFZs of Laodao River were higher than those of Dongting Lake and Quzi Wetland.During low water level periods,the plant richness in WLFZs was the highest in autumn,and the diversity was the highest in spring,both of which were lower in winter.This study revealed the plant variety and succession trend in different types of WLFZs of Hunan Province and provided a theoretical basis for the construction of plant communities in WLFZs.展开更多
