It is carried through first with the interviews with producers, directors, title designers, and an extensive use of iconography and textual analysis has been made first between the title and the poster of the same film, and then the titles of the same period. The study focuses on the early period of Turkish cinema during a unique time of political, economical, and social change. In these years, the new Turkish Republic is born with very significant reforms such as the new alphabet. This has also been the time of the first fictional film, first sound film, and the first advertising agency and commercial poster in Turkish. The earliest title sequence that could be reached date back to 1932. From this year on, until the 1950s, which is named here as the early years of Turkish cinema, we see the kingdom of lettering where the typographic elements dominate the titles. During the kingdom of lettering, early Turkish film titles reflect the conditions of the time in terms of film production and the changing society. The paths of Turkish cinema and graphic design seem not to be fully crossed yet; nevertheless we witness the birth of a new visual form and a new nation in these titles展开更多

Together with the 2003 Mass Housing Act, 14 legal regulations were enacted between 2002 and 2008 to expand the field of activity and increase the funds of TOKI (Governmental Mass Housing Administration) which was already established during ANAP (the Motherland Party) Government in 1980s. As a result of those regulations, TOKI, as the "latest goddess of the construction myth", became the only authorized organization in the field of housing and land production in AKP's cities. It acquired new duties from generating profit-oriented projects to protecting historical texture, and it was authorized to make and approve zoning plans for the lands and plots handed over to TOKI of the last government (the Justice and Welfare Party) created as an investor-entrepreneur-contractor-performer group. This paper's aim is to indicate the transformation of TOKI foundation during the last twenty years, and also to prove that TOKI, as a governmental profit-oriented design tool, has demolished the unique DNA/morphological textures of the contemporary Turkish big cities by producing low profiled similar architecture and urbanity in the recent past.展开更多

Still the city is a focus point of social (economical, cultural, and ethnical) and spatial dualisms and their genuine contradictions--polarizations particularly in the last 30 years. Istanbul's natural characteristics such as geographical conditions (slope topography and the physical relationship with the sea), and also the artificial urban properties that include the historical architectural monuments, the industrial heritage, the contemporary urban transformation applications, the harbours and docklands as borderlines or in-between zones also identify this fragmented, hybrid, and divided urban structure. The Haydarpasa Harbour as an artificial urban borderline between the ruined and peak zones lJskudar and Kadikoy on the Asian side of the city is a kind of representative in-between area, an isolate city in city, which triggers the social and physical collage and "deconstructs" the development process of lstanbul's morphology. This paper aims to analyze these social and spatial aspects, which endure urban polarization in Istanbul. The underlying reasons of these contradictions and eventual outcome of the peak and the ruined zones in lstanbul and their border districts typologies will be analyzed. This paper will also make a compared evaluation of Haydarpasa Harbour (intersection point of two adjacent districts in Istanbul) and the completed urban design transformation projects/scenarios on the harbor area regarding the creation of a sustainable urban development for the city by enabling a new productive public space in-between [Jskudar ("ruined" zone) and Kadikoy ("peak" zone) in Istanbul.展开更多

The obtained nanoparticles were characterized by XRD and UV-vis reflectance spectroscopy. The results indicated that metal-doped CdS catalysts were successfully obtained with cubic structure and 4.0 - 4.5 nm crystallite size. The band gap energies of metal-doped CdS catalysts were estimated using UV-visible reflectance spectra to be about the range of 2.25 - 2.55 eV. Methylene blue was degraded by using metal doped CdS nanoparticles under a 400 W medium-pressure mercury lamp of visible light irradiation (λ > 420 nm). Higher degradation efficiency was achieved by adding metals to the photocatalyst compared with the single CdS catalyst. In this case, the degradation efficiency of Co-CdS catalyst after 4h irradiation time was about 87%.展开更多

The proposed circuit is based on the bulk-driven technique and use of cross-coupled self-cascode pairs that boosts the differential DC gain. The stability condition of this structure for the DC gain is considered by definition of two coefficients to cancel out a controllable percentage of the denominator. This expression for stability condition yield optimized value for the DC gain. Also, as the principle of operation of the proposed technique relies on matching conditions, Monte Carlo analyzes are considered to study of the behavior of the proposed circuit against mismatches. The designed P-OTA have a DC gain of 64 dB, 212 KHz unity gain bandwidth, 57phase margin that is loaded by 10 pF differential capacitive loads, while consume only 16 μW. Eventually, from the proposed P-OTA, a low-power Sample and Hold (S/H) circuit with sampling frequency of 10 KS/s has been designed and simulated. The correct functionality for this configuration is verified from –30℃ to 70℃. The simulated data presented is obtained using the HSPICE Environment and is valid for the 90 nm triple-well CMOS process.展开更多

文摘AIM:To detect the impact of insulin-like growth factor-1(IGF-1)and other risk factors for the early prediction of retinopathy of prematurity(ROP)and to establish a scoring system for ROP prediction by using clinical criteria and serum IGF-1 levels.METHODS:The study was conducted with 127 preterm infants.IGF-1 levels in the 1st day of life,1st,2nd,3rd and4th week of life was analyzed. The score was established after logistic regression analysis, considering the impact of each variable on the occurrences of any stage ROP.A validation cohort containing 107 preterm infants was included in the study and the predictive ability of ROP score was calculated.RESULTS:Birth weights(BW),gestational weeks(GW)and the prevalence of breast milk consumption were lower, respiratory distress syndrome(RDS),bronchopulmonarydysplasia(BPD)and necrotizing enterocolitis(NEC)were more frequent, the duration of mechanical ventilation and oxygen supplementation was longer in patients with ROP(P〈0.05).Initial serum IGF-1 levels tended to be lower in newborns who developed ROP.Logistic regression analysis revealed that low BW(〈1250 g),presence of intraventricular hemorrhage(IVH)and formula feeding increased the risk of ROP.Afterwards, the scoring system was validated on 107 infants. The negative predictive values of a score less than 4 were 84.3%,74.7%and 79.8%while positive predictive values were 76.3%,65.5%and71.6%respectively.CONCLUSION:In addition to BW〈1250 g and IVH,formula consumption was detected as a risk factor for the development of ROP.Breastfeeding is important for prevention of ROP in preterm infants.
文摘Date palm fiber(DPF)derived from agrowaste was utilized as a new precursor for the optimized synthesis of a costeffective, nanostructured, powderactivated carbon(nPAC)for aluminum(Al3+)removal from aqueous solutions using carbonization,KOH activation, response surface methodology(RSM)and central composite design(CCD).The optimum synthesis condition, activation temperature, time and impregnation ratio were found to be 650℃,1.09 hour and 1:1,respectively.Furthermore,the optimum conditions for removal were 99.5%and 9.958 mgg 1 in regard to uptake capacity. The optimum conditions of nPAC was analyzed and characterized using XRD,FTIR,FESEM,BET,TGA and Zeta potential. Moreover, the adsorption of the Al3+conditions was optimized with an integrated RSMCCD experimental design.Regression results revealed that the adsorption kinetics data was well fitted by the pseudosecond order model, whereas the adsorption isotherm data was best represented by the Freundlich isotherm model.Optimum activated carbon indicated that DPF can serve as a costeffective precursor adsorbent for Al^(3+)removal.
文摘This study examines emerging market(EM)local bonds from a portfolio risk perspective and suggests methodologies for risk evaluation,on which the literature is limited.Despite the growth of EM bond funds in recent years, comprehensive studies regarding this industry have been scarce. In light of this,203 different local bonds of EM countries—Indonesia,Brazil,India,South Africa,Mexico, and Turkey—are elaborated in terms of return, volatility, and cross-correlation features. This study focuses on an untouched field—long memory properties—and the application of fractional models to EM bond portfolios.Based on the outcomes of a dynamic conditional correlation and fractionally integrated generalized autoregressive conditional heteroscedasticity approach and related value at risk analysis, the study finds that fractional models are useful tools for risk management,as they deliver satisfactory empirical results for several static and dynamic versions of EM bond portfolios.
文摘The present letter to the editor is related to the study entitled“Multidrug-resistant organisms in intensive care units and logistic analysis of risk factors.”Not every microorganism grown in samples taken from critically ill patients can be considered as an infectious agent.Accurate and adequate information about nosocomial infections is essential in introducing effective prevention programs in hospitals. Therefore, the development and implementation of care bundles for frequently used medical devices and invasive treatment devices(e.g.,intravenous catheters and invasive ventilation),adequate staffing not only for physicians, nurses, and other medical staff but also for housekeeping staff, and infection surveillance and motivational feedback are key points of infection prevention in the intensive care unit.
文摘Although the detection of viral particles by reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction(RT-PCR)is the gold standard diagnostic test for coronavirus disease 2019(COVID-19),the false-negative results constitute a big challenge.AIM To examine a group of patients diagnosed and treated as possible COVID-19 pneumonia whose multiple nasopharyngeal swab samples were negative for severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2(SARS-CoV-2)by RT-PCR but then serological immunoglobulin M/immunoglobulin G(IgM/IgG)antibody against SARS-CoV-2 were detected by rapid antibody test.METHODS Eighty possible COVID-19 patients who had at least two negative consecutive COVID-19 RT-PCR test and were subjected to serological rapid antibody test were evaluated in this study.RESULTS The specific serological total IgM/IgG antibody against SARS-CoV-2 was detected in twenty-two patients. The mean age of this patient group was 63.2±13.1-yearsold with a male/female ratio of 11/11.Cough was the most common symptom(90.9%).The most common presenting chest computed tomography findings were bilateral ground glass opacities(77.2%)and alveolar consolidations(50.1%).The mean duration of time from appearance of first symptoms to hospital admission,to hospital admission,to treatment duration and to serological positivity were 8.6 d,11.2 d,7.9 d,and 24 d,respectively.Compared with reference laboratory values, serologically positive patients have shown increased levels of acute phase reactants, such as C-reactive protein, ferritin, and procalcitonin and higher inflammatory markers, such as erythrocyte sedimentation rate, lactate dehydrogenase enzyme, and fibrin end-products,such as D-dimer.A left shift on white blood cell differential was observed with increased neutrophil counts and decreased lymphocytes.CONCLUSION Our study demonstrated the feasibility of a COVID-19 diagnosis based on rapid antibody test in the cases of patients whose RT-PCR samples were negative.Detection of antibodies against SARS-CoV-2 with rapid antibody test should be included in the diagnostic algorithm in patients with possible COVID-19 pneumonia.
文摘Regulatory authorities create a lot of legislation that must be followed. These create complex compliance requirements and time-consuming processes to find regulatory non-compliance.While the regulations establish rules in the relevant areas, recommendations and best practices for compliance are not generally mentioned.Best practices are often used to find a solution to this problem. There are numerous governance, management, and security frameworks in Information Technology(IT)area to guide businesses to run their processes at a much more mature level.Best practice maps can used to map another best practice, and users can adapt themselves by the help of this relation maps. These maps are created generally by an expert judgment or topdown relationship analysis. These methods are subjective and easily creates inconsistencies. In order to have an objective and statistical relationships map,we propose a Latent Semantic Analysis(LSA)based modal to generate a specific relatedness correlation map.We created a relatedness map of a banking regulation to a best practice. We analyzed 224 statements of this regulation in relation to Control Objectives for Information Technologies(Cobit)2019’s 1202 activities.Furthermore,we support our LSA results with MCDM analysis methods;Fuzzy Analytics Hierarchy Process(FAHP)to prioritize our criteria and,WASPAS(Weighted Aggregated Sum Product Assessment Method)to compare similarity results of regulation and Cobit activity pairs.Instead of the subjective methods for mapping best practices and regulations, this study suggests creating relatedness maps supported by the objectivity of LSA.

文摘The present study is related to design a stochastic framework for the numerical treatment of the Van der Pol heartbeat model(VP-HBM)using the feedforward artificial neural networks(ANNs)under the optimization of particle swarm optimization(PSO)hybridized with the active-set algorithm(ASA),i.e.,ANNs-PSO-ASA.The global search PSO scheme and local refinement of ASA are used as an optimization procedure in this study. An error-based merit function is defined using the differential VP-HBM form as well as the initial conditions. The optimization of the merit function is accomplished using the hybrid computing performances of PSO-ASA.The designed performance of ANNs-PSO-ASA is implemented for the numerical treatment of the VP-HBM dynamics by fluctuating the pulse shape adjustment terms, external forcing factor and damping coefficient with fixed ventricular contraction period. To perform the correctness of the present scheme, the obtained numerical results through the designed ANN-PSO-ASA will be compared with the Adams numerical method. The statistical investigations with larger dataset are provided using the“mean absolute deviation”,“Theil’s inequality coefficient”and“variance account for”operators to perform the applicability, reliability, and effectiveness of the designed ANNs-PSO-ASA scheme for solving the VP-HBM.
文摘This paper explores the film title design in Turkish cinema with the aim of understanding the link between Turkish cinema and Turkish graphic design. The paths of Turkish cinema and graphic design seem not to be fully crossed yet; nevertheless we witness the birth of a new visual form and a new nation in these titles
文摘This study presents a case study on the heavy metal analysis of soil and plant samples around the Murgul copper mine, one of the first and most important mining areas in Turkey. An attempt has been made to investigate the status of trace elements like Al^(3+),Fe^(2+),Cu^(2+),Zn^(2+),Pb^(2+),Ni^(2+),Co^(2+)and Cd^(2+)in soils and plants. The sampling localities were taken from 500 m,600 m,and 1000 m altitudes around the factory and at 1400 m in the forest zone. The aboveground parts and foliage ash of Silene compacta,Tussilago farfara,Smilax excelsa,Rhododendron ponticum,R.luteum, and herbal mix were analysed. The results of analysis have revealed the minimum and maximum concentrations measured in the plants as follows;aluminium(20-8985 mg kg^(-1)),cadmium(0.0-0.5 mg kg^(-1)),cobalt(0.0-5.5 mg kg^(-1)),copper(0.0-347.5 mg kg^(-1)),iron(25-9320 mg kg^(-1)),lead(2-51 mg kg^(-1)),nickel(1.5-16.5 mg kg^(-1)),and zinc(13.0-221.0 mg kg^(-1)).In the soil the concentrations of aluminium, cadmium, cobalt, copper, iron, lead, nickel, and zinc vary between 33-457,0.0-0.0,0.0-0.4,0.1-88.7,14-50,0.3-4.1,0.2-0.8,and 4.0-20.3 mg kg^(-1) respectively. These findings enlighten the fact that copper is generally toxic in the soils as well as plants.Silene compacta has been recorded as a high copper accumulator, behaving as a healthy plant on the polluted sites of the area alongside the Murgul creek(especially at 600 m).This study stresses the fact that it is imperative to assess and monitor the levels of heavy metals in the environment due to anthropogenic activities, including mining, for evaluation of human exposure and for sustainable environment.

文摘The aim of these investigations is to find the numerical performances of the delay differential two-prey and one-predator system. The delay differential models are very significant and always difficult to solve the dynamical kind of ecological nonlinear two-prey and one-predator system. Therefore,a stochastic numerical paradigm based artificial neural network(ANN)along with the Levenberg-Marquardt backpropagation(L-MB)neural networks(NNs),i.e.,L-MBNNs is proposed to solve the dynamical twoprey and one-predator model.Three different cases based on the dynamical two-prey and one-predator system have been discussed to check the correctness of the L-MBNNs.The statistic measures of these outcomes of the dynamical two-prey and one-predator model are chosen as 13%for testing,12%for authorization and 75%for training. The exactness of the proposed results of L-MBNNs approach for solving the dynamical two-prey and onepredator model is observed with the comparison of the Runge-Kutta method with absolute error ranges between 10−05 to 10−07.To check the validation, constancy, validity, exactness, competence of the L-MBNNs,the obtained state transitions(STs),regression actions, correlation presentations,MSE and error histograms(EHs)are also provided.
文摘With the mission of absorption of the capital through urban renovation, AKP (the Justice and Welfare Party) took over the metropolitan municipality administrations in big cities in 1995, and the Government of the Republic of Turkey in 2002. This paper's aim is to indicate the transformation of TOKI foundation during the last twenty years, and also to prove that TOKI, as a governmental profit-oriented design tool, has demolished the unique DNA/morphological textures of the contemporary Turkish big cities by producing low profiled similar architecture and urbanity in the recent past.

文摘A novel design of the computational intelligent framework is presented to solve a class of host-vector-predator nonlinear model governed with set of ordinary differential equations. The host-vector-predator nonlinear model depends upon five groups or classes, host plant susceptible and infected populations, vectors population of susceptible and infected individuals and the predator population. An unsupervised artificial neural network is designed using the computational framework of local and global search competencies of interior-point algorithm and genetic algorithms. For solving the hostvector-predator nonlinear model,a merit function is constructed using the differential model and its associated boundary conditions. The optimization of this merit function is performed using the computational strength of designed integrated heuristics based on interior point method and genetic algorithms. For the comparison, the obtained numerical solutions of networks models optimized with efficacy of global search of genetic algorithm and local search with interior point method have been compared with the Adams numerical solver based results or outcomes. Moreover, the statistical analysis will be performed to check the reliability, robustness, viability, correctness and competency of the designed integrated heuristics of unsupervised networks trained with genetic algorithm aid with interior point algorithm for solving the biological based host-vector-predator nonlinear model for sundry scenarios of paramount interest.
文摘Istanbul as a "third world" metropolis is a dynamic open system, where complex and multiple economical, social and physical conditions are overlapped. This paper will also make a compared evaluation of Haydarpasa Harbour (intersection point of two adjacent districts in Istanbul) and the completed urban design transformation projects/scenarios on the harbor area regarding the creation of a sustainable urban development for the city by enabling a new productive public space in-between [Jskudar ("ruined" zone) and Kadikoy ("peak" zone) in Istanbul.
文摘Metal doped CdS nanoparticles were synthesized by a simple chemical precipitation route with different metals. In this case, the degradation efficiency of Co-CdS catalyst after 4h irradiation time was about 87%.
文摘This paper presents the design of an ultra low-voltage (ULV) pseudo operational transconductance amplifier (P-OTA) that is able to operate with a single supply voltage as low as 0.4 V. The simulated data presented is obtained using the HSPICE Environment and is valid for the 90 nm triple-well CMOS process.
