In this work, a two-step electrodeposition method was employed to prepare BiPO4 nanorod/reduced graphene oxide/FTO composite electrodes(BiPO4/r GO/FTO). The BiPO4/r GO/FTO composite electrode showed the higher photoelectrocatalytic(PEC) activity for the removal of methyl orange than pure BiPO4, which was 2.8 times higher than that of BiPO4/FTO electrode. The effects of working voltage and BiPO4 deposition time on the degradation efficiency of methyl orange were investigated. The optimum BiPO4 deposition time was 45 min and the optimum working voltage was 1.2 V. The trapping experiments showed that hydroxyl radicals(·OH) and superoxide radicals(·O2-) were the major reactive species in PEC degradation process. The BiPO4/r GO/FTO composite electrode showed the high stability and its methyl orange removal efficiency remained unchanged after four testing cycles. The reasons for the enhanced PEC efficiency of the BiPO4/r GO/FTO composite electrode was ascribed to the broad visible-light absorption range, the rapid transmission of photogenerated charges, and the mixed BiPO4 phase by the introduction of r GO in the composite electrode films. 展开更多

The 5th generation mobile communications aims at connecting everything and future Internet of Things(IoT)will get everything smartly connected.To realize it,there exist many challenges.One key challenge is the battery problem for small devices,such as sensors or tags.Batteryless backscatter,also referred to as or battery-free backscatter,is a new potential technology to address this problem.One early and typical type of batteryless backscatter is ambient backscatter.Generally,batteryless backscatter utilizes environmental wireless signals to enable battery-free devices to communicate with each other.These devices first harvest energy from ambient wireless signals and then backscatter these signals so as to transmit their own information.This paper reviews the current studies about batteryless backscatter,including various backscatter schemes and theoretical works,and then introduces open problems for future research. 展开更多

The implementation of IoT generally faces the challenges from energy constraint and implementation cost. In this paper, we will introduce a new green communication paradigm, the ambient backscatter (AmBC), that could utilize the environmental wireless signals for both powering a tiny-cost device and backscattering the information symbols. In order to carry out numerical simulation using geologic structural data obtained from Landmark(seismic interpretation system), underground geological structures are abstracted into mechanical models which can reflect actual situations and facilitate their computation and analyses.Given the importance of model building, further processing methods about traditional seismic interpretation results from Landmark should be studied and the processed result can then be directly used in numerical simulation computations.Through this data conversion procedure, Landmark and FLAC(the international general stress software) are seamlessly connected.Thus, the format conversion between the two systems and the pre-and post-processing in simulation computation is realized.A practical application indicates that this method has many advantages such as simple operation, high accuracy of the element subdivision and high speed, which may definitely satisfy the actual needs of floor grid cutting. 展开更多

Ambient backscatter is a new green technology for Internet of Things(IoT)that utilizes surrounding wireless signals to enable batteryless devices to communicate with other devices.The battery-free devices first harvest energy from ambient wireless signals and then backscatter the signals for communications.Clearly,sensitivity and distance are two important parameters for system performance.However,most existing studies on ambient backscatter communication systems do not consider the impact of the sensitivity of the energy-harvesting nodes and the distances between these devices.In this paper,we first provide a literature review for ambient communication technology and then take sensitivity and distance as two key parameters and investigate the sensitivity and distance based performance for ambient backscatter communication systems.Specifically,we establish the mathematical model based on distances between transceivers and backscattering nodes,extract a parameter that can differentiate the direct path and the backscattering path,evaluate the effects of transmit beamforming,design an energy detector for the reader,and analyze the outage probability of energy harvesting at the tag and the bit error rate(BER)at the reader.Simulations are then provided to corroborate the proposed studies. 展开更多

In this study,2D and 3D soil arching phenomena associated with piled embankments were evaluated by performing a series of discrete numerical analyses using the particle flow code(PFC3D)software.After validating the micro-parameters with experimental results,we compared the stress-displacement distribution,force chain evolution,maximum vertical displacement of particles,and deformation characteristics induced by 2D and 3D arching effects.Additional analyses were carried out to understand the influence of the fill height,pile clear spacing,friction coefficient,and porosity on soil arching with respect to the stress concentration ratio(SCR)and settlement along the elevation at various sections.The numerical results indicated that a plane soil arch in a 2D embankment overestimates the degree of load transfer and underestimates the settlement at the crest and within the embankment along the elevation in a 3D embankment.A lower equal settlement plane can be found in a 2D embankment.Furthermore,an increase of fill height and friction angle,and a decrease of pile clear spacing and porosity can help to improve the degree of reduction in load transfer and settlement in both 2D and 3D embankments.However,for partially mobilized soil arching in the 3D condition,the increase of fill height reduces the settlement of soils mainly in the portion above the square subsoil area,but has less influence over the portion above the rectangular subsoil area. 展开更多
