This article investigates the characteristics of shock wave overpressure generated by multi-layer composite charge under different detonation modes.Combining dimensional analysis and the explosion mechanism of the charge,a peak overpressure prediction model for the composite charge under singlepoint detonation and simultaneous detonation was established.The effects of the charge structure and initiation method on the overpressure field characteristics were investigated in AUTODYN simulation.The accuracy of the prediction model and the reliability of the numerical simulation method were subsequently verified in a series of static explosion experiments.The results reveal that the mass of the inner charge was the key factor determining the peak overpressure of the composite charge under single-point detonation.The peak overpressure in the radial direction improved apparently with an increase in the aspect ratio of the charge.The overpressure curves in the axial direction exhibited a multi-peak phenomenon,and the secondary peak overpressure even exceeded the primary peak at distances of 30D and 40D(where D is the charge diameter).The difference in peak overpressure among azimuth angles of 0-90°gradually decreased with an increase in the propagation distance of the shock wave.The coupled effect of the detonation energy of the inner and outer charge under simultaneous detonation improved the overpressure in both radial and axial directions.The difference in peak overpressure obtained from model prediction and experimental measurements was less than 16.4%. 展开更多

With the development of the technology of the Internet of Things,more and more operational data can be collected from air conditioning systems.Unfortunately,the most of existing air conditioning controllers mainly provide controlling functions more than storing,processing or computing the measured data.This study develops an online fault detection configuration on the equipment side of air conditioning systems to realize these functions.Modbus communication is served to collect real-time operational data.The calculating programs are embedded to identify whether the measured signals exceed their limits or not,and to detect if sensor reading is frozen and other faults in relation to the operational performance are generated or not.The online fault detection configuration is tested on an actual variable-air-volume(VAV)air handling unit(AHU).The results show that the time ratio of fault detection exceeds 95.00%,which means that the configuration exhibits an acceptable fault detection effect. 展开更多

Al/Ni reactive multilayer foil(RMF)possesses excellent comprehensive properties as a promising substitute for traditional Cu bridge.A theoretical resistivity model of Al/Ni RMF was developed to guide the optimization of EFIs.Al/Ni RMF with different bilayer thicknesses and bridge dimensions were prepared by MEMS technology and electrical explosion tests were carried out.According to physical and chemical reactions in bridge,the electrical explosion process was divided into 5 stages:heating of condensed bridge,vaporization and diffusion of Al layers,intermetallic combination reaction,intrinsic explosion,ionization of metal gases,which are obviously shown in measured voltage curve.Effects of interface and grain boundary scattering on the resistivity of film metal were considered.Focusing on variations of substance and state,the resistivity was developed as a function of temperature at each stage.Electrical explosion curves were calculated by this model at different bilayer thicknesses,bridge dimensions and capacitor voltages,which showed an excellent agreement with experimental ones. 展开更多

Plenty of dams in China are in danger while there are few effective methods for underwater dam inspections of hidden problems such as conduits,cracks and inanitions.The dam safety inspection remotely operated vehicle(DSIROV) is designed to solve these problems which can be equipped with many advanced sensors such as acoustical,optical and electrical sensors for underwater dam inspection.A least-square parameter estimation method is utilized to estimate the hydrodynamic coefficients of DSIROV,and a four degree-of-freedom(DOF) simulation system is constructed.The architecture of DSIROV's motion control system is introduced,which includes hardware and software structures.The hardware based on PC104 BUS,uses AMD ELAN520 as the controller's embedded CPU and all control modules work in VxWorks real-time operating system.Information flow of the motion system of DSIROV,automatic control of dam scanning and dead-reckoning algorithm for navigation are also discussed.The reliability of DSIROV's control system can be verified and the control system can fulfill the motion control mission because embankment checking can be demonstrated by the lake trials. 展开更多

Ship parametric roll resonance will lead to large amplitude roll motion and even wreck. Firstly, the equation describing the parametric roll resonance in irregular waves is derived according to Grim's effective theory and the corresponding Ince-Strutt stability charts are obtained.Secondly, the differences of stability charts for the parametric roll resonance in irregular and regular waves are compared. Thirdly, wave phases and peak periods are taken into consideration to obtain a more realistic sea condition. The influence of random wave phases should be taken into consideration when the analyzed points are located near the instability boundary. Stability charts for different wave peak periods are various. Stability charts are helpful for the parameter determination in design stage to better adapt to sailing condition. Last, ship variables are analyzed according to stability charts by a statistical approach. The increase of the metacentric height will help improve ship stability. 展开更多

The Multiple Column Platform(MCP) semi-submersible is a newly proposed concept, which differs from the conventional semi-submersibles, featuring centre column and middle pontoon. It is paramount to ensure its structural reliability and safe operation at sea, and a rigorous investigation is conducted to examine the hydrodynamic and structural performance for the novel structure concept. In this paper, the numerical and experimental studies on the hydrodynamic performance of MCP are performed. Numerical simulations are conducted in both the frequency and time domains based on 3D potential theory. The numerical models are validated by experimental measurements obtained from extensive sets of model tests under both regular wave and irregular wave conditions. Moreover, a comparative study on MCP and two conventional semi-submersibles are carried out using numerical simulation.Specifically, the hydrodynamic characteristics, including hydrodynamic coefficients, natural periods and motion response amplitude operators(RAOs), mooring line tension are fully examined. The present study proves the feasibility of the novel MCP and demonstrates the potential possibility of optimization in the future study. 展开更多

Although Morison equation is often applied for simulating hydrodynamic force of marine structure, it may give poor results when non-linear behavior is severe or random wave is encountered. This leads to some modifications of Morison equation or other methods for predicting hydrodynamic force. One of them is the system identification technique. In this paper, NARMAX model theory is firstly used to identify the hydrodynamic system of heave damping plates, which are commonly installed on spar platform. Both linear and non-linear models are obtained. The comparisons between the predicted results and measured data indicate that NARMAX model can predict hydrodynamic force of a heave damping plate very well. The measured data for identification originate from forced oscillation tests, which are random records with given spectrum. The forced oscillation forms in experiment also contain simple harmonic, multi-frequency ones. 展开更多

This paper investigates channel allocation and power control schemes in OFDM-based multi-hop cognitive radio networks.The color-sensitive graph coloring(CSGC) model is viewed as an efficient solution to the spectrum assignment problem.The model is extended to combine with the power control strategy to avoid interference among secondary users and adapt dynamic topology.The optimization problem is formulated encompassing the channel allocation and power control with the interference constrained below a tolerable limit.Meanwhile,the proposed resource allocation scheme takes the fairness of secondary users into account in obtaining the solution of optimization.Numerical results show that the proposed strategy outperforms the existing spectrum assignment algorithms on the performance of both the network throughput and minimum route bandwidth of all routes,as well as the number of connected multi-hop routes which implies the fairness among secondary users. 展开更多

By using a 30-meter-long wave flume equipped with a double-plate wave maker,a series of depression ISWs were generated in a density stratified two-layer fluid and the forces exerted by oblique internal solitary waves(ISWs)on fixed FPSO model had been measured.According to the laboratory experiments,a numerical flume taken the applicability of KdV,eKdV and MCC ISWs theories in consideration was adopted to study the force components.Based on the experimental data and the force composition,the simplified prediction model was established.It was shown that the horizontal and transversal loads consisted of two parts:the Froude−Krylov force that could be calculated by integrating the dynamic pressure induced by ISW along the FPSO wetted surface,as well as the viscous force that could be obtained by multiplying the friction coefficient Cfx(C_(fy)),correction factor K_(x)(K_(y))and the integration of particle tangential velocity along the FPSO wetted surface.The vertical load was mainly the vertical Froude−Krylov force.Based on the experimental results,a conclusion can be drawn that the friction coefficient Cf and correction factor K were regressed as a relationship of Reynolds number Re,Keulegan-Carpenter number KC,upper layer depth h1/h and ISW accident angleα.Moreover,the horizontal friction coefficient Cfx yielded the logarithmic function with Re,and transversal friction coefficient C_(fy)obeyed the exponent function with Re,while the correction factors K_(x)and K_(y)followed power function with KC.The force prediction was also performed based on the regression formulae and pressure integral.The predicted results agreed well with the experimental results.The maximum forces increase linearly with the ISWs amplitude.Besides,the upper layer thickness had an obvious influence on the extreme value of the horizontal and transversal forces. 展开更多

Electromagnetic metasurface with chaos patterned surface could bring rich interaction modes contributing to fully disordered random motions in deterministic systems, which preform uncertainty, irreducibility and unpredictability. We investigate the influence of the correlation function(CF) properties of surface random patterns on the wave absorption performance. The complicated correlation function provides a fully developed random state, broadening the absorption bandwidth significantly and is helpful for reaching higher absorption rate. With the increasing number of peaks in the correlation function, the absorption band at-15 d B reflectivity widens significantly, band at-20 d B reflectivity begins to emerge. As the first peak’s distance from the original point in the CF is enlarged, the absorption trough is gradually formed and deepened to-35 d B level. The results give in-depth understanding of the relation between absorption behavior and controlling parameters including correlation, image information and foam spacer layer thickness. This high absorption absorber has great application potential in customizable radio communication compatibility device and anechoic testing chamber. 展开更多

The flutter of a hydrofoil can cause structural damage and failure,which is a dangerous situation that must be avoided.In this work,based on computational fluid dynamics and structural finite element methods,a co-simulation framework for the flow-induced vibration of hydrofoil was established to realize fluid-structure interaction.Numerical simulation research was conducted on the flow-induced vibration characteristics of rigid hydrofoil with 2-DOF under uniform flow,and the heave and pitch vibration responses of hydrofoil were simulated.The purpose is to capture the instability of hydrofoil vibration and evaluate the influence of natural frequency ratio and inertia radius on vibration state to avoid the generation of flutter.The results indicate that when the inflow velocity increases to a certain critical value,the hydrofoil will enter the flutter critical state without amplitude attenuation.The attack angle of a hydrofoil has a significant impact on the vibration amplitude of heave and pitch.Additionally,the natural frequency ratio and inertia radius of the hydrofoil significantly affect the critical velocity of the flutter.Adjusting the natural frequency ratio by reducing the vertical stiffness or increasing the pitch stiffness can move the vibration from a critical state to a convergent state. 展开更多

With the advantages of noncontact,high accuracy,and high flexibility,optical tweezers hold huge potential for micro-manipulation and force measurement.However,the majority of previous research focused on the state of the motion of particles in the optical trap,but paid little attention to the early dynamic process between the initial state of the particles and the optical trap.Note that the viscous forces can greatly affect the motion of micro-spheres.In this paper,based on the equations of Newtonian mechanics,we investigate the dynamics of laser-trapped micro-spheres in the surrounding environment with different viscosity coefficients.Through the calculations,over time the particle trajectory clearly reveals the subtle details of the optical capture process,including acceleration,deceleration,turning,and reciprocating oscillation.The time to equilibrium mainly depends on the corresponding damping coefficient of the surrounding environment and the oscillation frequency of the optical tweezers.These studies are essential for understanding various mechanisms to engineer the mechanical motion behavior of molecules or microparticles in liquid or air. 展开更多

Themulti-skill resource-constrained project scheduling problem(MS-RCPSP)is a significantmanagement science problem that extends from the resource-constrained project scheduling problem(RCPSP)and is integrated with a real project and production environment.To solve MS-RCPSP,it is an efficient method to use dispatching rules combined with a parallel scheduling mechanism to generate a scheduling scheme.This paper proposes an improved gene expression programming(IGEP)approach to explore newly dispatching rules that can broadly solve MS-RCPSP.A new backward traversal decoding mechanism,and several neighborhood operators are applied in IGEP.The backward traversal decoding mechanism dramatically reduces the space complexity in the decoding process,and improves the algorithm’s performance.Several neighborhood operators improve the exploration of the potential search space.The experiment takes the intelligent multi-objective project scheduling environment(iMOPSE)benchmark dataset as the training set and testing set of IGEP.Ten newly dispatching rules are discovered and extracted by IGEP,and eight out of ten are superior to other typical dispatching rules. 展开更多

To achieve accurate positioning of autonomous underwater vehicles, an appropriate underwater terrain database storage format for underwater terrain-matching positioning is established using multi-beam data as underwater terrainmatching data. An underwater terrain interpolation error compensation method based on fractional Brownian motion is proposed for defects of normal terrain interpolation, and an underwater terrain-matching positioning method based on least squares estimation(LSE) is proposed for correlation analysis of topographic features. The Fisher method is introduced as a secondary criterion for pseudo localization appearing in a topographic features flat area, effectively reducing the impact of pseudo positioning points on matching accuracy and improving the positioning accuracy of terrain flat areas. Simulation experiments based on electronic chart and multi-beam sea trial data show that drift errors of an inertial navigation system can be corrected effectively using the proposed method. The positioning accuracy and practicality are high, satisfying the requirement of underwater accurate positioning. 展开更多

In marine engineering,appendages such as fin stabilizers and/or T-foils are made to rotate and to reduce the motion of ships.Research on the hydrodynamics of ships fitted with active appendages has significantly improved the design and control of such ships.However,most studies focus on fixed rather than rotating appendages,thereby ignoring the hydrodynamic unsteadiness of active appendages.To enhance the reliability and precision of the numerical simulations,we propose the use of overlapping grids for simulating advanced catamarans fitted with a pair of rotating T-foils under each bow.The fundamental purpose of the overlapping grid technique is to realize information exchange via regional overlap sharing in each subdomain of the computing domain,instead of using the method of boundary sharing,thus greatly alleviating the difficulty of generating the subdomain grid;moreover,the technique guarantees the quality of the subdomain grid.Within the main computational domain,a subdomain was allocated to accommodate the T-foil.Overlapping meshes near the interface between the two domains enable information flow during the simulation;the overlapping grids are updated at every iteration step because the subdomain rotates.The instantaneous trim and sinkage responses of the catamaran to the T-foil rotation were reproduced.From the moment the active T-foil stopped moving,there was no change in the ship’s sailing attitude,indicating that the response was in real time.By comparing with EFD data,the numerical results showed reasonable agreement,indicating the feasibility and effectiveness of the technique in simulating the hydrodynamics of ships fitted with active appendages. 展开更多

In the underwater-shock environment,cavitation occurs near the structural surface.The dynamic response of fluid-structure interactions is influenced seriously by the cavitation effects.It is also the difficulty in the field of underwater explosion.With the traditional boundary element method and the finite element method(FEM),it is difficult to solve the nonlinear problem with cavitation effects subjected to the underwater explosion.To solve this problem,under the consideration of the cavitation effects and fluid compressibility,with fluid viscidity being neglected,a 3D numerical model of transient nonlinear fluid-structure interaction subjected to the underwater explosion is built.The fluid spectral element method(SEM) and the FEM are adopted to solve this model.After comparison with the FEM,it is shown that the SEM is more precise than the FEM,and the SEM results are in good coincidence with benchmark results and experiment results.Based on this,combined with ABAQUS,the transient fluid-structure interaction mechanism of the 3D submerged spherical shell and ship stiffened plates subjected to the underwater explosion is discussed,and the cavitation region and its influence on the structural dynamic responses are presented.The paper aims at providing references for relevant research on transient fluid-structure interaction of ship structures subjected to the underwater explosion. 展开更多

Screening similar historical fault-free candidate data would greatly affect the effectiveness of fault detection results based on principal component analysis(PCA).In order to find out the candidate data,this study compares unweighted and weighted similarity factors(SFs),which measure the similarity of the principal component subspace corresponding to the first k main components of two datasets.The fault detection employs the principal component subspace corresponding to the current measured data and the historical fault-free data.From the historical fault-free database,the load parameters are employed to locate the candidate data similar to the current operating data.Fault detection method for air conditioning systems is based on principal component.The results show that the weighted principal component SF can improve the effects of the fault-free detection and the fault detection.Compared with the unweighted SF,the average fault-free detection rate of the weighted SF is 17.33%higher than that of the unweighted,and the average fault detection rate is 7.51%higher than unweighted. 展开更多

The dynamic stiffness and the specific damping energy, as well as the vibration response characteristics of a silicone rubber isolator were researched. The results of the vibration test showed that the silicone rubber isolator was excellent in the performance of vibration control. The dynamic stiffness and the damping characteristics were non-linear. From the comparison between experimental results and simulation analysis, the displacement transmissibility characteristics of the isolator were obtained. As a result, the dynamic characteristics of the isolator could be accurately described by the quadratic type non-linear terms at small amplitude. 展开更多
