Effect of Refiner Plate Bar Angle and Pulp Properties on the Low Consistency Refining Efficiency in Terms of Power Consumption

Power consumption is the energy source of the impact on fibers or pulp during low-consistency(LC)pulp refining,and the strength of refining affects refining quality and efficiency.The pulp properties,operating parameters,and bar parameters of the refiner plates are important parameters affecting refining efficiency,which can be defined as the ratio of net to total refining power.In this study,LC refining trials for pulps with different consistencies and fiber lengths were conducted using five isometric straightbar plates with different bar angles to explore the influences of the plate bar angle and pulp properties on the no-load power,impact capacity on fibers and refining efficiency.It was found that the no-load power of the LC refining process decreased with an increase in the plate bar angle while increased when pulp with higher consistency was refined under the same refining conditions.However,the effect of pulp consistency on the no-load power can be neglected when refining is conducted using plates with larger bar angles.Meanwhile,a critical bar angle for straight-bar plates in LC refining may exist,which has the strongest impact on the pulp and highest refining efficiency under the same refining conditions.In addition,the impact capacity of the plate on the pulp and refining efficiency in LC refining can be enhanced by appropriately increasing the pulp consistency and average fiber length when the bar angle of the refiner plate with a sector angle of 40°is less than 30°.Therefore,the efficiency and power consumption of the LC refining process can be adjusted by optimizing the pulp consistency and bar parameters of the refining plates. 展开更多

Background:As the market demands change,SMEs(small and medium-sized enterprises)have long faced many design issues,including high costs,lengthy cycles,and insufficient innovation.These issues are especially noticeable in the domain of cosmetic packaging design.Objective:To explore innovative product family modeling methods and configuration design processes to improve the efficiency of enterprise cosmetic packaging design and develop the design for mass customization.Methods:To accomplish this objective,the basic-element theory has been introduced and applied to the design and development system of the product family.Results:By examining the mapping relationships between the demand domain,functional domain,technology domain,and structure domain,four interrelated models have been developed,including the demand model,functional model,technology model,and structure model.Together,these models form the mechanism and methodology of product family modeling,specifically for cosmetic packaging design.Through an analysis of a case study on men’s cosmetic packaging design,the feasibility of the proposed product family modeling technology has been demonstrated in terms of customized cosmetic packaging design,and the design efficiency has been enhanced.Conclusion:The product family modeling technology employs a formalized element as a module configuration design language,permeating throughout the entire development cycle of cosmetic packaging design,thus facilitating a structured and modularized configuration design process for the product family system.The application of the basic-element principle in product family modeling technology contributes to the enrichment of the research field surrounding cosmetic packaging product family configuration design,while also providing valuable methods and references for enterprises aiming to elevate the efficiency of cosmetic packaging design for the mass customization product model. 展开更多

Landscape aesthetics, as an important branch of environmental aesthetics, should seek effective intervention of new ideas with epochal criticism on the basis of in-depth exploration of its historical form. Based on the vertical time axis, this study combed the traditional aesthetic theory and its application in landscape practice, summed up the transformation of landscape aesthetics from subject-object dichotomy to experience-based empiricism, and introduced ecological ethics and scientific knowledge into contemporary landscape aesthetics to determine its value orientation of the times, in order to provide theoretical reference for solving ecological crisis and expanding the study of landscape aesthetics. 展开更多

Landslide of colluviums often occurs during or after heavy rainfall because the huge quantity of precipitation induces the upsurge of groundwater table as well as the reduction of effective stress of soil stratum and the factor of safety from slope stability analysis. Moreover, the longer duration of heavy rainfall maintain the higher groundwater table, the shear strength parameters may be decline due to the soil being soaked for longer period of time. The campus of Huafan University is mostly covered by colluviums that located on Mt. Da-Lum, Shih-Tin Hsiang, Taipei County, Taiwan, China. Slope stability is one of the major concerned issues, for this reason, a slope monitoring test site has been established around the campus. According to the data collected, the magnitude of slope movement influenced by rainfall can be observed. In this study, the colluviums samples are collected from the campus of Huafan University and direct shear tests are performed to obtain the shear strength parameters of the remolded soil samples that soaked in the water for various periods of time, i.e. 0, 1, 2, 3, 5 and 7 days respectively. From these tests, the change of the shear strength and slope stability of colluviums with respect to the soaking time of soil has been further understood. 展开更多

Non-stoichiometric Nd_((1+x))(Mg_(1/2)Sn_(1/2))O_(3)(-0.04=x≤0.04,NMS)ceramics were fabricated via a conventional solid-state reaction method.Crystal structures and morphologies were investigated by Xray diffraction(XRD)and scanning electron microscopy(SEM),respectively.The main crystalline phase is monoclinic Nd(Mg_(1/2)Sn_(1/2))O_(3) with a double perovskite structure(P21/n space group)for the NMS system proved by XRD.The sample at x=0.01 has the best crystallinity and evenly distributed crystal grains observed by SEM.The optimum performances(ε_(r)=19.87,Q×f=41840 GHz,f=12.05 GHz)are obtained at x=0.01.Lattice vibrational modes of the Raman spectra were assigned and illustrated,in detail.The dielectric properties obtained by fitting infrared reflectance spectra with the help of four-parameter semi-quantum model are consistent with the calculated values by microscopic polarization and damping coefficients.The reverse translational vibration of the NdeMgO_(6),the F_(5u)^((5)) mode,provides the greatest contribution to the dielectric response.The relationships between crystal structures and dielectric properties were mainly established using lattice vibrational modes as a media. 展开更多
