To sharpen the imaging of structures, it is vital to develop a convenient and efficient quantitative algorithm of the optical coherence tomography (OCT) sampling. In this paper a new Monte Carlo model is set up and how light propagates in bio-tissue is analyzed in virtue of mathematics and physics equations. The relations,in which light intensity of Class 1 and Class 2 light with different wavelengths changes with their permeation depth,and in which Class 1 light intensity (signal light intensity) changes with the probing depth, and in which angularly resolved diffuse reflectance and diffuse transmittance change with the exiting angle, are studied. The results show that Monte Carlo simulation results are consistent with the theory data. 展开更多

We have made a gain-switched all-solid-state quasi-continuous-wave (QCW) tunable Ti:sapphire laser system, which is pumped by a 532nm intracavity frequency-doubled Nd:YAG laser. Based on the theory of gain-switching and the study on the influencing factors of the output pulse width, an effective method for obtaining high power and narrow pulse width output is proposed. Through deliberately designing the pump source and the resonator of the Ti:sapphire laser, when the repetition rate is 6kHz and the length of the cavity is 220mm, at an incident pump power of 22W, the tunable Ti:sapphire laser from 700 to 950nm can be achieved. It has a maximum average output power of 5.6W at 800nm and the pulse width of 13.2ns, giving an optical conversion effciency of 25.5% from the 532nm pump laser to the Ti:sapphire laser. 展开更多

This paper reports a continuous-wave (CW) mid-infrared intracavity singly resonant optical parametric oscillator based on periodically poled lithium niobate (PPLN) pumped by a diode-end-pumped CW Nd:YVO 4 laser. Considering the thermal lens effects, it adopted an optical ballast lens and the near-concentric cavity for better operation. At the PPLN's grating period of 28.5 μm and the temperature of 140 C, the maximum idler output power of 155 mW at 3.86 μm has been achieved when the 808 nm pump power is 8.5 W, leading to an optical-to-optical conversion efficiency of 1.82%. 展开更多

We report on a high power output quasi-continuous-wave nanosecond optical parametric generator (OPG) of congruent periodically poled lithium niobate (PPLN) pumped by a 1 064 nm acousto-optically Q-switched Nd:YVO4 laser (duration: 70 ns,repetition rate:45 kHz,spatial beam quality M2<1.3).The OPG consists of a 38.7 mm long PPLN crystal with a domain period of 28.93 μm. Influence of the KTP crystal boundary temperature on conversion efficiency in high power green laser

The influence of the KTiOPO4 (KTP) crystal boundary temperature on conversion efficiency in high power green laser has been studied theoretically and experimentally. Temperature distribution inside the KTP crystal has... The influence of the KTiOPO4 (KTP) crystal boundary temperature on conversion efficiency in high power green laser has been studied theoretically and experimentally. Temperature distribution inside the KTP crystal has been analyzed by solving the thermal conductivity equation. From the temperature distribution inside the KTP crystal, we have calculated the optimal phase-matching angles of the type-Ⅱ KTP crystal as a function of temperature. The second-harmonic conversion efficiency as a function of temperature has also been calculated. In the experiment, two KTP crystals with different phase-matching angles were used in the intrcavity-frequency-doubled resonator. When the boundary temperature of KTP-A (φ = 23.6°,θ = 90° under the condition of 27 ℃ temperature) was setting at 4 ℃, a maximum green light power of 104 W was generated at repetition rate of 20.7 kHz and pulse width of 132 nm with pumping current of laser diode of 18.3 A, leading to 10.2% optical-to-optical conversion efficiency. When KTP-B crystal (φ = 24.68°, θ = 90° under the condition of 80 ℃ temperature) was employed, an average output power of 110 W at 532 nm has been achieved with values of 11.5% and 2% for the optical-to-optical efficiency and the instability, respectively. The optimal boundary temperature of this KTP crystal has been found to be 48.8 ℃. 展开更多

We demonstrate an angle-tuned signal-resonated optical parametric oscillator (OPO) with periodically poled lithium niobate (PPLN) pumped by a diode-pumped Nd:YVO4 laser. 1499.8 - 1506.6 nm of signal wavelength is achieved at 140°C by rotating a 29-μm period PPLN from 0° - 10.22° in the x-y plane while keeping the pump wave vertical to the resonator mirrors. Two pairs of the signal and idler waves of the same wavelengths can be achieved symmetrically for each pair of angles of rotation with same absolute value and opposite sign. Theoretical analyses on angle-tuned PPLN-OPO with pump wave vertical to the resonator mirrors are presented and in good agreement with our experimental results. It is also found that all interacting waves in the cavity (not inside the crystal) are always collinear for PPLN-OPO with the pump wave vertical to the resonator mirrors while phase-matching is noncollinear within the crystal. 展开更多

We report a tunable quasi-phase-matched optical parametric generator (OPG) with different wedge angles, pumped by a commercially available Q-switched diode-pumped Nd:YVO4 laser with a repetition of 50 kHz. The nonlinear crystal is a periodically poled MgO-doped LiNbO3 (PPMgOLN) with a period of 30 μm. A congruent bulk LiNbO3 (LN) with three different wedge angles of 0°, 4°, and 9° is placed in front of PPMgOLN. Rapid tuning has been achieved by simply moving the LN crystal along its lateral direction and over 60-mW average signal output power was obtained in the whole wavelength tuning range of 1539-1570 nm. 展开更多

The maximum average output power is 5.3 W at the incident pump power of 17 W, which corresponds to an optical-optical conversion efficiency of 31.2% and slope efficiency of 34.7%. The average power of 1.15 W at 1.57μm is obtained at 4.3-kHz repetition rate. The peak power of the pulses amounts to 33.4 kW with 8-ns duration. Using a dense flint glass prism as the dispersion element, a tuning range from 730 to 880 nm with the linewidth of 3 nm and the pulse width of 17.2 ns was obtained.
