The influence of Ce contents on the microstructure and tensile properties of the alloy was analyzed. Ce addition results in the formation of AlzCe and the annealed microstructure is improved by the addition. There was no recrystallization of the alloy after rolling, however, it did occur after annealing. The alloy can be strengthened by adding Ce and the alloy with 1.05 wt.% Ce possessed the best synthetical properties of all the tested alloys. As rolled, σb and δof this alloy are 321 MPa and 6.9%, and as annealed, they are 259 MPa and 21.8%.展开更多
Design and experimental studies on a hybrid excitation flux switching motor as a traction motor for hybrid electric vehicles drive are presented.A stator body of the motor consists of not only laminated silicon-iron e...Design and experimental studies on a hybrid excitation flux switching motor as a traction motor for hybrid electric vehicles drive are presented.A stator body of the motor consists of not only laminated silicon-iron electromagnetic steel and three-phase armature windings,but also both of field excitation coils and permanent magnets working together as a variable field magnetomotive force source.On the other hand,a rotor is composed of just laminated silicon-iron electromagnetic steel with salient poles like switched reluctance motor.To bring out the best in drive performances of the hybrid excitation flux switching motor as a variable flux motor for the application,each material adopted for the stator and rotor body should be designed properly in terms of motor efficiency,maximum torque and power densities and so forth.As some of them,in this paper,thinner silicon-iron electromagnetic steel sheet and permanent magnets with high remanent and low amount of Dysprosium used are applied for achieving higher motor efficiency.Moreover,all coils wound flatwise and edgewise using rectangular wires are introduced to realizing high filling factor for reduced copper losses.Experimental tests using a 60kW prototype of the motor demonstrates the designed motor has good motor efficiency under frequent operating points expected for the target vehicle drive.展开更多
Standard-compatible multiple description coding (MDC) and layered coding (LC) are efficient ways to ensure erasure resilient, scalable transmission of encoded multimedia sources via RTP, allowing a gradual degradation...Standard-compatible multiple description coding (MDC) and layered coding (LC) are efficient ways to ensure erasure resilient, scalable transmission of encoded multimedia sources via RTP, allowing a gradual degradation of the application quality with increasing packet loss rate and decreasing bandwidth/throughput on the network. In this paper we review the stan- dard-compatible framework proposed to IETF. Alternative techniques such as robust source coding and channel coding techniques (ARQ: automatic repeat request, FEC: forward error correction) are presented; their integration into the proposed framework is also discussed. The performances of MDC and LC either coupled with channel coding or not, are summarized by reference to current literature. Typical cases and examples are illustrated.展开更多

The emission spectra showed that the red emission centered at 618nm could be readily increased relatively to the orange emission centered at 590nm by controlling the doping concentration of Ce3+ ion. The investigation based on excitation spectra and decay curves demonstrated that the doped Ce3+ ions took two efficient energy transfers to Eu3+ ions and affected the lifetime of the emission states of Eu3+ ions so that the emission spectra of Eu3+ ion were accordingly tuned with the Ce3+ content increasing. This controllable red (5D0→7F2) to orange ( 5D0→7F1) emission ratio of YPO4:Eu3+,Ce3+ made it very promising for encoded anti-fake labels and bio-labels.展开更多
Adhesion is one of essences with respect to rubber friction because the magnitude of the friction force is closely related to the magnitude of adhesion on a real contact area. However, the real contact area during sli...Adhesion is one of essences with respect to rubber friction because the magnitude of the friction force is closely related to the magnitude of adhesion on a real contact area. However, the real contact area during sliding depends on the state and history of the contact surface. Therefore, the friction force occasionally exhibits rate-, state-, and pressure dependency. In this study, to rationally describe friction and simulate boundary value problems, a rate-, state-, and pressure-dependent friction model based on the elastoplastic theory was formulated. First, the evolution law for the friction coefficient was prescribed. Next, a nonlinear sliding surface (frictional criterion) was adopted, and several other evolution laws for internal state variables were prescribed. Subsequently, the typical response characteristics of the proposed friction model were demonstrated, and its validity was verified by comparing the obtained results with those of experiments conducted considering the contact surface between a rough rubber hemisphere and smooth acrylic plate.展开更多
