The forward and reverse admittance measurements are carded out in the frequency and voltage ranges of 30 kHz-300 kHz and -5 V-6 V, respectively. C-V or er-V plots exhibit two distinct peaks corresponding to inversion and accumulation regions. The first peak is attributed to the existence of Dit, the other to the series resistance (Rs), and interfacial layer. Both the real and imaginary parts of dielectric constant (er and err) and electric modulus (Mr and Mrr), loss tangent (tan~), and AC electrical conductivity (aac) are investigated, each as a function of frequency and applied bias voltage. Each of the M~ versus V and Mrr versus V plots shows a peak and the magnitude of peak increases with the increasing of frequency. Especially due to the Dit and interfacial PVA layer, both capacitance (C) and conductance (G/w) values are strongly affected, which consequently contributes to deviation from both the electrical and dielectric properties of A1/Co-doped PVA/p-Si (MPS) type SBD. In addition, the voltage-dependent profile of Dit is obtained from the low-high frequency capacitance (CLF-CHF) method.展开更多

This article aims to highlight the value of interpreting sigma levels as a modern means of both the efficiency and success rate of nine different type of eye surgery processes involved. Data were compiled from a comprehensive study of multiple sources—all based on medical practices—carried out in a range of eye care hospitals throughout Turkey. It is found that the eye surgery processes in Turkey operates at an average of 3.4816 sigma level. This corresponds to a DPMO of 23,725 and a yield of approximately 97.63% in 7292 surgeries. Thus, Turkish eye care hospitals have to make significant changes to drive to a 6σ level performance.展开更多

Data were collected for nine years. To analyse the complications among 55 patients (59 eyes) underwent penetrative keratoplasty, main tools of Six Sigma’s Define-Measure-Analyze-Improve-Control (DMAIC) improvement cycle such as SIPOC table and Failure, Mode and Effect Analysis (FMEA) were implemented. Sources and root causes of eleven types of complications were identified and reported. For a successful penetrating keratoplasty surgery patient’s anatomy, suitability of donor cornea, experience of ophthalmic surgeon, sterilization and hygiene, and performance of the equipment were determined to be the “critical-to-quality” factors. The complication with the highest hazard score was found to be the glaucoma. The process sigma level of the process was measured to be 3.1418. The surgical team concluded that all types of post-operative complications should be significantly reduced by taking the necessary preventive measures.展开更多

Data were collected for ten years. To analyse the process, main tools of Six Sigma’s Define-Measure-Analyze-Improve-Control (DMAIC) improvement cycle such as SIPOC Table, Failure, Mode and Effect Analysis were implemented. Sources and root causes of ten types of complications were identified and reported. Patient’s eye anatomy, experience of ophthalmic surgeon, quality of surgical equipment, quality and type of suture, and experience of staff were identified to be Critical-to-Quality (CTQ) factors for a successful surgery. The most frequently occurring complication was found to be hypotony. The process sigma level of the process was measured to be 3.1391. The surgical team concluded that ten complications (out of twelve) should be significantly reduced by taking the necessary preventative measures.展开更多
