Preparation, morphology and mechanical properties of acrylate-modified polyurethane/unsaturated polyester resin graft-IPNs 被引量:6

Acrylate modified polyurethane resin was first synthesized, and interpenetrated with unsaturated polyester resin to form IPNs and gradient IPNs which cured at room temperature. The polymerization process was traced by an IR spectroscopy technique and the simultaneous interpenetrating techniques were determined. The morphology of these IPNs were estimated by TMA and TEM methods. The results indicated that large amount of interpenetrating and entanglement make T g linked up effectively, and domains between two phases can be in nanometre ranges, which changed with composition ratios. The mechanical properties results showed that IPNs varied from elastomeric to plastic materials. It was noteworthy that, with the introduction of modified groups and the formation of graft construction in IPNs, the miscibility in the systems was improved a lot. These further led to the improved mechanical properties of IPNs with elastomer reinforced and plasticizer toughened as well. The reinforced miscibility between the networks can apparently change mechanical property especially for the gradient ones when the materials are elongated. 展开更多

Nd2O3 doped BaTiO3ceramics(the additive content was respectively 0.001, 0.002, 0.003, 0.005, 0.01 molar ratio)were prepared by Sol-Gel method to study their dielectric characteristics and electric conductivities through X-ray photoelectron spectrum (XPS). The results showed that the dielectric characteristics of Nd2O3 doped BaTiO3 ceramics were improved by doping. When Nd2O3 content was 0.003 mol, the results were even better, the dielectric constant was increased, the dielectric loss was decreased, the Curie-temperature (Tc) was 110 ℃, and the frequency characteristic was also good. The resistivity of Nd2O3 doped BaTiO3 ceramics was lower than that of pure BaTiO3 ceramics, when Nd2O3 content was 0.001 mol,the resistivity was (2.364×)108 Ω·m, the smallest. The grain resistance of Nd2O3 doped BaTiO3 ceramics exhibited NTC effect, but the grain boundary resistance showed PTC effect, and the grain boundary resistance was larger than that of the grain resistance, so the PTC effect originated from the grain boundary. The analysis of the element binding energy through X-ray photoelectron spectrum were indicated that the quantivalence of Ba2+and Ti4+in Nd2O3 doped BaTiO3 ceramics was variable, and resulted in the improvement of the conductibility of BaTiO3 ceramics. 展开更多

The production of lactic acid from kitchen garbage, the precursor for production of biodegradable plastics is described in detail. The influence of temperature on the lactic acid concentration, sugar concentration, and decrement of garbage were evaluated through experiments. Fermentation were carried out in an incubator at 5, 25, 37 and 50 ℃. The latic acid produced was maximum at initial pH 6.0 and 37 ℃, i.e. 38 g/L with a yield of 0.23 g/gVS. It is concluded from the experimental results that temperature has quite a considerable effect on the production of lactic acid; lactic acid concentration increases with temperature until 37 ℃, and production rate of lactic acid drops at 50 ℃; the optimal fermentation is 37 ℃. This study shows that production of lactic acid from kitchen garbage is feasible and reduction of garbage can be realized. 展开更多

The study on three Pb Ca Sn Al alloys with 0.08%, 0.4% and 1.0% of Ce indicates that the addition of Ce results in an obvious increase in the tensile strength and hardness of the alloys, an increase in the overpotentials of hydrogen and oxygen evolution and the corrosion resistance as well. The study on the corrosion film formed on the alloys by cyclic voltammetry shows that the addition of Ce slows down the formation of corrosion film. It is therefore concluded from the experimental results that the addition of Ce can increase the tensile strength and HB of Pb Ca alloy and the tensile strength and HB of the alloy increase with the increase of Ce; the addition of Ce also increases the hydrogen and oxygen evolution overpotentials of Pb Ca alloy, and when the content of Ce is 1.0%, the alloy has the highest hydrogen and oxygen evolution overpoteatials; the addition of Ce improves the anticorrosion capability of the alloy, and when the content Ce is 1.0%, the alloy has the best anticorrosion capability; and the addition of Ce also slows down the formation of corrosion film. 展开更多

The surface properties of PAN-based carbon fibers electrochemically treated in aqueous ammonium bicarbonate before and after treatment were characterized by X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS), atomic force microscopy (AFM) and Dynamic Contact Angle Analysis (DCAA). The results of characterization indicated that the oxygen and nitrogen contents in carbon fiber surface were significantly increased by electrochemical treatment, and amide groups was introduced onto it, which was related with the electrolyte. The AFM photographs illustrated that the roughness of the fiber surface was also increased. The wettibality of the fibers was improved after treatment because the surface energy especially the polar part of it was increased. 展开更多

A new synthesis process by using the catalyst of KI was set up,and the yield increased to 95 5%. The relationship between structure and activity of quinclorac and its derivatives was studied to find more active and more mild weedicide, 12 derivatives of this acid were synthesized, and the biological activities of all these compounds were detected, the QSAR equation of this series of compounds was established by Hansch method, which shows that the biological activity is linearly correlated with parameters L, M R, B 1, B 2 and B 4, and -CH 2-CH=CH 2 substituted quinclorac ester was more active and more mild weedicide analysised from QSAR equation. 展开更多

The properties of the materials were characterized. XRD patterns showed that no secondary phase appeared and the hexagonal lattice parameter c of LiNi0.rsCoo.2AI^0202 was larger than that of LiNi0.8Co0.2O2. The SEM images indicated that the powders of the material were submicron size. The results of the ICP-AES analysis proved that elemental compositions of the material were similar to those of the targeted one. Cyclic voltammetry (3.0- 4. 2 V) illustrated that the new material had good lithium-ion intercalation/de-intercalation performance. The results of galvanostatic cycling showed that the initial specific discharge capacity of the prepared material was 181.4 mAh/g, and the specific discharge capacity was 177.3 mAh/g after 100 cycles (0. 2C, 3.0 - 4. 2 V, vs. Li^+/Li) with the capacity retention ratio of 97.7%. 展开更多

The synthetic routes, materials properties and future applications of clay-polymer nanocomposites are reviewed. Nannocomposites are composite materials.that contain particles in the size rang 1-100 nm. The particles generally have a high aspect ratio and a layered structure that maximizes bonding between the polymer and particle. Adding a small quantity of these additives (0.5%~5%) can increase many of the properties of polymer materials, such as tensile characteristics, heat distortion temperature, scratch resistance, gas permeability resistance, and flame retardancy. This new type of materials may be prepared via various synthetic routes comprising exfoliation adsorption, in-situ intercalative polymerization and melt intercalation. In this paper we report the new method for preparation EPDM-clay nanocomposites. The EPDM-clay nanocomposites were prepared by using two different approaches (direct and indirect). It is found that there is no difference between both methods but the direct method is easier, its cost is lower and industrially more practical. X-ray diffraction (XRD) and transmission electron microscopy (TEM) results showed a exfoliation structure. The mechanical properties of these nanocomposites significantly improved. 展开更多

In order to increase the specific energy and specific power of a lead-acid battery, lead foam grid was prepared by electrodepositing Pb-Sn alloy on a copper foam substrate and used as negative current collector for a lead acid battery whose capacity was limited by the negative plate. Comparing the effect of the cast grid, under the same conditions, the mass of lead foam grid decreases by 35%, and the area of lead foam contacted with active material increases by about 20 times. Under 2 h rate discharge condition, with a high current (3 0 I2) e and low-temperature (-10 ℃, I2) discharge system, the lead foam grid markedly boosts the discharge performance of lead acid battery. It increases not only the negative electrode mass specific capacity by 27%,37% and 29%,but also the utilization efficiency of the negative active material by 5%. Compared with the negative electrode of cast grid, XRD and SEM results show that after 20 cycles at the state of charge, the sponge lead in the negative lead foam electrode has smaller crystals and less PbSO4 on its surface. Meanwhile, at the state of full discharge, the PbSO4 crystals are smaller and occur less on the surface of lead foam electrode. This indicates its active material reacts more uniformly. 展开更多

Sol sol gel method and solid phase redox reaction were respectively applied in preparation of Nanosize MnO 2 powders. The experiments showed that only Mn 2O 3 could be obtained from ignition of Mn(Ⅱ) in the muffle furnace in air, and Mn 2O 3 had to be disproportionated in acids to gain MnO 2. The analysis of XRD and TEM technique revealed that the diameters of nanosize MnO 2 obtained by sol gel method was 35~45 nm and the x in MnO x was 1 9; the particle size of MnO 2 produced from solid phase redox reaction was 10~20 nm and the x in MnO x equaled 1 94. The test results have proved that the discharge property of alkaline manganese battery could be improved by nanosize MnO 2. 展开更多

The Ti base PbO 2 electrode prepared by electrodeposition of PbO 2 on the surface of titanium was used for electro catalytic oxidation of phenol in waste water. The experimental results show that the electrodeposition of PbO 2 at a higher current density for a short time, then followed by a lower current density can get a compact and combinative PbO 2 layer. The properties of a Ti/PbO 2 electrode with an interlayer of oxide are the best. When this kind of electrode is used to treat phenol containing waste water, the phenol removal rate is higher and the slot voltage is lower. In addition, by using the phenol removal rate as an index, the influences of electrolysis current density, mass transfer condition and pH were studied and the optimal condition was confirmed. 展开更多

The metal matrix composite coatings of Co-Ni-Al2O3 were studied by electrolytic codeposition of Co-Ni alloys and Al2O3 on a Cu substrate from a sulfamate electrolyte containing Al2O3 particles. It was illustrated from the examined results of SEM, AFM and XRD that surface morphology and microstructure of Co-Ni-Al2O3 coatings appear to be mainly influenced by variations in Co content. The high Co content coatings with hcp lattice structure have a more uniform and fine structure than that of low Co content coatings with fcc lattice structure. The codeposition of Al2O3 particles in Co-Ni alloys can not change the phase structure of solid solution, only affects the growth and orientation of crystal planes and mostly increase the d value of lattice. 展开更多

The effect of concentration, temperature, electric current and time on the electrodialysis process were studied. Experimental results indicated that electrodialysis was an effective method for concentrating β-Naphthalenesulfonic acid at 25℃. Higher efficiencies were not obtained at high temperature. Preparation of superabsorbent by graft copolymerization of acrylic acid onto corn starch using K_2S_2O_8 and rare earths as initiators

K2 S2 O8 and rare earths (RE) were used as initiators to prepare superabsorbents by graft copolymerization of acrylic acid ( AA ) onto corn starch. The effects of monomer concentration, initiator K2 S2 O8 concentration, cross-linker concentration, reaction temperature and the concentration ratio of RE and K2 S2O8 on the graft copolymerization were studied in terms of the water absorption capacity of superabsorbents. Results indicate that the optimum conditions obtained for the grafting of AA onto 5g starch are as follows: AA of 75. 773 g/L, K2S20s of 0. 437 g/L, RE of 0. 874 g/L, cross-linker of 0. 381 g/L and temperature of 70 ℃. The maximum water absorption capacity obtained is 740 g/g. The new method of graft polymerization is easily proceeded and controlled. The graft copolymers were characterized by infra-red spectroscopy, scanning electron microscopy and TG. Results characterized by IR and SEM give strong evidence for grafting of AA onto corn starch, and those characterized by TG reveal that the grafting of AA improves the theimostability of corn starch. 展开更多

The nonlinear optical (NLO) active chromophore was prepared bv a bridging agent, glyeidyl ether ( AGE), to connect disperse orange 3 ( DO3 ) and ( γ-Methaerylpropyl)-silsesquioxane (MP-SSO). A freeradical polymerization was performed to fabricate the methacrylate/Silica hybrid NLO films. Different amounts ( 5-25 wt% ) of (γ-methacrylpropyl) -polyhedral oligomeric silsesquioxanes (POSS) were added as the modifier to improve the degree of cross-linking, density and structure of the NLO matrix. As a result, the modified material properties including coating transmittance, glass transition temperature ( Tg ) , absoption spectra before and after poling, Marker stripes, etc. were presented. The hybrid film containing 15 wt% POSS exhibits the highest T, nonresonant second-order nonlinearity (d33 = 92 pro/V) and temporal stability among the others. 展开更多

Effects of impingement and friction of swirling air stream on prefilming airblast atomization of non-Newtonian fluids

Liquids to be broken up using a prefilming airblast atomizer are usually Newton liquids with relatively low viscosities.While in some industrial processes,such as spray drying,liquids to be atomized are high concentration suspensions or non-Newtonian fluids with high viscosities.In this paper,non-Newtonian fluids with viscosity up to 4.4 Pa·s were effectively atomized using a specially designed prefilming airblast atomizer.The atomizer enabled liquid to extend to a thickness-adjustable film and forced the atomizing air stream to swirl with 30° or 45° through gas distributors with spiral slots.The liquid film was impinged by the swirling air stream resulting in the disintegration of the film into drops.Drop sizes were measured using a laser diffraction technique.An improved four-parameter mathematical model was established to relate the Sauter mean diameter of drops to the atomization conditions in terms of power dependencies on three dimensionless groups:Weber number,Ohnesorge number and air liquid mass ratio.The friction on the surface of the liquid film made by swirling air stream played an important role in the prefilming atomization at the conditions of low air velocity and low liquid viscosity.In this case,the liquid film was disintegrated into drops according to the classical wavy-sheet mechanism,thus thinner liquid films and high swirl levels of the atomizing air produced smaller drops.With the increase of the air velocity and the liquid viscosity,the effect of the friction on the prefilming atomization relatively weakened,whereas the impingement on the liquid film made by atomizing air stream in a direction normal to the liquid film and corresponding momentum transfer gradually strengthened and eventually dominated the disruption of liquid into drops,which induced that the initial thickness of the liquid film and the swirl of atomizing air stream exercised a minor influence on the drop sizes. 展开更多

This study is to analyze the influence of the modifier, 5~25 wt % titanium tetrabutoxide (TBO), on the hardness and elastic modulus of the films based on SSO deriving from hydrolytic condensation of (3-glycidoxypropyl)trimethoxysilane (GPMS) and vinyltrimethoxysilane (VMS), by the continuous stiffness measurement (CSM) technique of an instrumented-indentation testing (IIT) device. Films were synthesized by adding the stoichiometric amount of ethylenediamine (EDA) and benzoyl proxide (BPO) to SSO solutions in ethanol, dip-coating over glass substrates, and curing using an appropriate thermal cycle. Intrinsic values of hardness and elastic modulus were determined with the average values in “plateau region” from “four-layer” explanation. And the brittle index of the modified coating systems was analyzed. 展开更多

In order to get 2-chloro-4,6-dinitroresocinol(CDNR) with high purity,which influences the synthesis of 4,6-diaminoresorcinol dihydrochloride,the solubility of CDNR in various solvents was measured by laser method and ethanol was chosen as the solvent.The recrystallization process of CDNR was investigated and crystallizing parameters such as cooling rate,temperature and time were discussed.Experimental results show that the time and temperature of crystallization greatly affect the yield and a higher yield can be received at-8 ℃ for 5 h.Slow cooling rate is helpful to the crystallization of CDNR,and the mechanical stirring or ultrasonic treatment can increase the yield and the purity of CDNR. 展开更多

Smudge is black granules that scatter on tinplate sheet; it was formed during the process of plating and storing, and seriously affected the function and appearance of tinplate sheet. Reflowing and cathodic dichromate treatment (CDC) are two major phases in which smudge is produced. In this paper, the appearance and component of smudge was analyzed by means of whiteness meter, SEM and EDS quantitatively. Factors of CDC conditions was studied. Results of tests showed that whiteness measurement is convenient to evaluation of the degree of smudge and the effects of CDC on it , quantitatively. 展开更多
