Study on hydrochemical characteristics and formation mechanism of shallow groundwater in eastern Songnen Plain 被引量:4

Under the influence of global climate changes and human activities, the Songnen Plain's groundwater environment is deteriorating, which becomes an important factor restricting the social economic development and ecological balance. As a relatively independent water system in the Songnen Plain, the groundwater system of the Songhua River provides the main water sources for industry, agriculture, life and other aspects. According to the hydrogeological investigation, groundwater sample collection and testing in the eastern Songnen Plain, descriptive statistics analysis, piper diagram, Gibbs diagram and reverse hydrogeochemical simulation were used to analyze the hydrochemical characteristics and evolution laws of regional groundwater. The results of this study show that HCO_3^- and Ca^(2+) are the main anion and cation in the groundwater; the formation of groundwater chemical components are controlled by topographic and geomorphic factors and groundwater occurrence conditions; groundwater subarea of the Lalin-Ashi River is mainly controlled by weathering-dissolution process, and evaporation and ion-exchange reactions are more obvious in groundwater subarea of the Hulan-Tongken River, whose chemical composition also affects the valley plain groundwater subarea in the discharge area; in addition, local high intensity withdrawal causes abnormal hydrochemical evolution processes. Statistical characteristics of heavy metals content in groundwater and their interrelationships in a certain antimony mine area

In recent years, most of domestic and foreign researches about heavy metal pollutions of metal mine mainly focus on water, soil and plants on the surface. There is lack of researches about heavy metal pollution in groundwater of metal mine. In this research, a certain antimony mine area is selected as a typical study area. Also, the study about statistical characteristics of heavy metals in groundwater has been carried out. Furthermore, the interrelationships have been preliminarily discussed through related analysis, such as relevant analysis, cluster analysis and principle component analysis. The results show that: the excessive elements in groundwater of study area are Sb, As, Pb, Se, and Ni. The average mass concentration of Sb, As, and Pb is higher than that of drinking water standards(GB5749-2006). The concentration of most heavy metals in dry season is lower than or equal to that in wet season for groundwater. Zn is the only metal in groundwater showing a different pattern, the concentration of which in dry season is higher than that in wet season. Under the impacts of stratum leaching and absorption effect, the concentration of heavy metals(except Pb and Ba) in groundwater are lower than or equal to that in surface water. As and Se, the two heavy metals have a significant positive correlation, which shows the two elements might have gone through similar environmental geochemical effect. Also, the connection among Zn, Hg, Pb, and Mn is not obvious; therefore, the sources of those elements are quite different. In addition, the elements of Se and As have obvious positive interrelationship with elements of CO_3^(2-) and F^-. Also, the Pb has significant positive correlation with PO_4^(3-), H_2SiO_3 and oxygen consumption. The results of cluster analysis show that 9 different heavy metals in the study area can be divided into 3 categories: Zn, Cd, Mn, Hg, Cu, and Cr belong to the first category, Se and As belong to the second one, and the last category is Pb. Also, the principle component analysis divides 6 heavy metals(Zn, As, Hg, Pb, Mn, and Se) into 4 different principle components, which can be utilized to assess heavy metals pollution situations in groundwater. The reliability of this method is higher than 91%. Moreover, the research provides theory basis and models for establishing evaluation index system and exploring the evaluation method of heavy mental pollution in groundwater. 展开更多

The paper reviews and analyses current state of knowledge and research into ground fissure and geological environment in Hebei Plain. It is shown that the level of research and investigation is in some aspects insufficient. Knowledge is lacking in the use of corresponding geological concept models for specific ground fissures, three-dimensional numerical simulations of ground fissures caused by pumping through soil with pre-existing fractures, numerical simulations of ground fissures caused by dislocation in intersection faults, and the failure criterion and the constitutive relationship of rock and soil. Furthermore, we put forward geological concept models for ground fissure formation following the dislocation of a buried intersection fault, over-exploitation of groundwater and its compound origin mechanisms in order to provide scientific evidence for the quantitative analysis. 展开更多

Through collecting groundwater samples from the coastal region of Tangshan, China, the hydrochemical processes that affect the chemical composition of groundwater and the quality of resources were analyzed. Chemical constituents, factor analysis, and a graphic method were employed in this research. The results show that human activities obviously affect fresh groundwater. The deep groundwater distributed in the southern part of the region is severely affected by salinization, and the shallow groundwater in the north is also beginning to show the same deterioration. The chemical concentrations of the deep groundwater depend largely upon the water-rock interaction, the mixing of saline water and the ion exchange processes. With the exception of sample C-33, all the groundwater samples in the study area are suitable for drinking. Tests show that roughly half of the deep groundwater samples have at least one water quality index indicating that it is chemically doubtful or unsuitable for irrigation. Therefore, it is concluded that deep groundwater is becoming an unacceptable resource to irrigate areas located near the coastline because the groundwater quality in the study area is exhibiting signs of degradation. This study's findings contribute to a better understanding of groundwater resources in order to support regional management and protection. 展开更多

Based on the groundwater resources evaluation, the groundwater exploitation potentiality evaluation is aiming at providing references for management, planning and development of groundwater. Traditional evaluation methods mainly adopted individual indicator as a method which cannot fully reflect the affecting factors of the groundwater exploitation potential in a scientific way. The idea that the spatial distribution and dynamic change of groundwater is not only affected by socio-economic development and exploitation technology but also influenced by its regulation is coincided with the niche theory. This paper has preliminarily applied the niche theory to groundwater exploitation potential analysis, and proposed the concept of groundwater niche as well as its related definition, connotation and calculation formula. Meanwhile, by taking the Hebei Plain as an example, the article has made an evaluation of groundwater exploitation potentiality and a contrast with the results of the traditional evaluation methods on the construction of groundwater niche index system, and then verified the feasibility and rationality of this index system. It turns out that, it is truly comprehensive, scientific and rational to make groundwater niche calculation and exploitation potential analysis by using the evaluation index system. Niche theory has provided a new and fundamental attempt for the analysis and competition strategy for the groundwater exploitation potentiality evaluation. 展开更多

Regional joint PM_(2.5)-O_(3) control policy benefits further air quality improvement and human health protection in Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei and its surrounding areas 被引量:1

Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei and its surrounding areas(hereinafter referred to as“2+26”cities)are one of the most severe air pollution areas in China.The fine particulate matter(PM_(2.5))and surface ozone(O_(3))pollution have aroused a significant concern on the national scale.In this study,we analyzed the pollution characteristics of PM_(2.5) and O_(3) in“2+26”cities,and then estimated the health burden and economic loss before and after the implementation of the joint PM_(2.5)-O_(3) control policy.During 2017–2019,PM_(2.5) concentration reduced by 19%while the maximum daily 8 hr average(MDA8)O_(3) stayed stable in“2+26”cities.Spatially,PM_(2.5) pollution in the south-central area and O_(3) pollution in the central region were more severe than anywhere else.With the reduction in PM_(2.5) concentration,premature deaths fromPM_(2.5) decreased by 18%from 2017 to 2019.In contrast,premature deaths from O_(3) increased by 5%.Noticeably,the huge potential health benefits can be gained after the implementation of a joint PM_(2.5)-O_(3) control policy.The premature deaths attributed to PM_(2.5) and O_(3) would be reduced by 91.6%and 89.1%,and the avoidable economic loss would be 60.8 billion Chinese Yuan(CNY),and 68.4 billion CNY in 2035 compared with that in 2019,respectively.Therefore,it is of significance to implement the jointPM_(2.5)-O_(3) control policy for improving public health and economic development. 展开更多
