This study uses a complex network analysis model to examine the evolution and trends of the global major grain trade from 1990 to 2020, focusing on network topology, centrality ranking, and community structure. There are three major findings. First, the global major grain trade network has expanded in scale, with a growing emphasis on diversification and balance. During the study period, the United States, Canada, China, and Brazil were the core nodes of the network. Grain-exporting countries were mainly situated in Asia, the Americas, and Europe, and importing countries in Asia, Africa, and Europe. Second, a significant increase in the number of high centrality countries with high export capacity occurred, benefiting from natural advantages such as fertile land and favorable climates. Third, the main global grain trade network is divided into four communities, with the Americas-Europe community being the largest and most widespread. The formation of the community pattern was influenced by geographic proximity, driven by the core exporting countries. Therefore, the world needs to enhance the existing trade model, promote the multi-polarization of the grain trade network, and establish a global vision for the future community. Countries and regions should participate actively in global grain trade security governance and institutional reform, expand trade links with other countries, and optimize import and export policies to reduce trade risks.展开更多

BACKGROUND:Neural regeneration following nerve injury is an emerging field that attracts extending interests all over the world.OBJECTIVE:To use bibliometric indexes to track studies focusing on neural regeneration,an...BACKGROUND:Neural regeneration following nerve injury is an emerging field that attracts extending interests all over the world.OBJECTIVE:To use bibliometric indexes to track studies focusing on neural regeneration,and to investigate the relationships among geographic origin,countries and institutes,keywords in the published articles,and especially focus on the region distribution,institution distribution,as well as collaborations in Chinese papers indexed in the Web of Science.METHODS:A list of neural regeneration studies was generated by searching the database of the Web of Science-Expanded using the term"Neural Regenera*".Inclusive criteria:(1)articles in the field of neural regeneration;(2)fundamental research on animals,clinical trials and case reports;(3)article types:article,review,proceedings paper,note,letter,editorial material,discussion,book chapter;(4)year of publication:2003–2012;and(5)citation database:Science Citation Index-Expanded.Exclusive criteria:(1)articles requiring manual searching or with access only by telephone;(2)unpublished articles;and(3)corrections.RESULTS:A total of 4 893 papers were retrieved from the Web of Science published between 2003and 2012.The papers covered 65 countries or regions,of which the United States ranked first with1 691 papers.The most relevant papers were in the neurosciences and cell biology,and the keyword"stem cell"was the most frequent.In recent years,China showed a great increase in the number of papers.Over the entire 10 years,there were 922 Chinese papers,with Jilin University ranking first with 58 articles.Chinese papers were published in connection with many countries,including the United States,Japan,and the United Kingdom.Among the connections,the papers published by the Chinese and the American are 107,with the highest rate.With regard to funding,689 articles were funded from various projects,occupying 74.72%of the total amount.In these projects,National Foundation and Science and Technology programs were the majority.CONCLUSION:Our bibliometric analysis provides a historical perspective on the progress of neural regeneration research.At present,the number of articles addressing neural regeneration is increasing rapidly;however,through analysis of citations it is clear that there is a long way to go to improve the academic quality.展开更多

Purpose: Formal concept analysis(FCA) and concept lattice theory(CLT) are introduced for constructing a network of IDR topics and for evaluating their effectiveness for knowledge structure exploration.Design/methodolo...Purpose: Formal concept analysis(FCA) and concept lattice theory(CLT) are introduced for constructing a network of IDR topics and for evaluating their effectiveness for knowledge structure exploration.Design/methodology/approach: We introduced the theory and applications of FCA and CLT, and then proposed a method for interdisciplinary knowledge discovery based on CLT. As an example of empirical analysis, interdisciplinary research(IDR) topics in Information & Library Science(LIS) and Medical Informatics, and in LIS and Geography-Physical, were utilized as empirical fields. Subsequently, we carried out a comparative analysis with two other IDR topic recognition methods.Findings: The CLT approach is suitable for IDR topic identification and predictions.Research limitations: IDR topic recognition based on the CLT is not sensitive to the interdisciplinarity of topic terms, since the data can only reflect whether there is a relationship between the discipline and the topic terms. Moreover, the CLT cannot clearly represent a large amounts of concepts.Practical implications: A deeper understanding of the IDR topics was obtained as the structural and hierarchical relationships between them were identified, which can help to get more precise identification and prediction to IDR topics.Originality/value: IDR topics identification based on CLT have performed well and this theory has several advantages for identifying and predicting IDR topics. First, in a concept lattice, there is a partial order relation between interconnected nodes, and consequently, a complete concept lattice can present hierarchical properties. Second, clustering analysis of IDR topics based on concept lattices can yield clusters that highlight the essential knowledge features and help display the semantic relationship between different IDR topics. Furthermore, the Hasse diagram automatically displays all the IDR topics associated with the different disciplines, thus forming clusters of specific concepts and visually retaining and presenting the associations of IDR topics through multiple inheritance relationships between the concepts.展开更多
Nitrogen(N),a macronutrient essential for plant growth and development,is needed for biosynthesis of protein and starch,which affect grain yield and quality.Application of high-N fertilizer increases plant growth,grai...Nitrogen(N),a macronutrient essential for plant growth and development,is needed for biosynthesis of protein and starch,which affect grain yield and quality.Application of high-N fertilizer increases plant growth,grain yield,and flour quality.In this study,we performed the first comparative analysis of gliadin and glutenin subproteomes during kernel development in the elite Chinese wheat cultivar Zhongmai 175 under high-N conditions by reversed-phase ultra-performance liquid chromatography and twodimensional difference gel electrophoresis(2D-DIGE).Application of high-N fertilizer led to significant increases in gluten macropolymer content,total gliadin and glutenin content,and the accumulation of individual storage protein components.Of 126 differentially accumulated proteins(DAPs)induced by high-N conditions,24 gliadins,12 high-molecularweight glutenins,and 27 low-molecular-weight glutenins were significantly upregulated.DAPs during five kernel developmental stages displayed multiple patterns of accumulation.In particular,gliadins and glutenins showed respectively five and six accumulation patterns.The accumulation of storage proteins under high-N conditions may lead to improved dough properties and bread quality.展开更多

Only those papers with the first author comi...This paper has briefly analyzed the publication status of Chinese stomatology papers in 2009 with statistics from Journal Citation Reports provided by Thomson Scientific. Only those papers with the first author coming from the mainland of China were included for calculations. We have found a significant increase in the number of SCIE-indexed papers, most of which were published by six dental institutions in China. Among all Chinese medical institutions, West China School of Stomatology Sichuan University is the first dental institution to enter the top-20 list with the most publications, and it also ranks the 9th in the number of outstanding articles. West China School of Stomatology Sichuan University and the Forth Military Medical University are the only two dental institutions in China which have published SCIE-indexed papers over a hundred. The former has published the most SCIE-indexed stomatology papers, while the latter has the highest average impact factor. As the laboratories and funds in China have close connections with various dental hospitals, the pratice of translational medicine in dentistry is fast and fluent.展开更多

The characteristics of achievements information related to scientific and technological domains are analyzed,and then an ontology that represents their latent collaborative relations is built to detect clusters from the collaboration network. A case study is conducted to collect a data set of research achievements in the electric vehicle field and better clustering results are obtained. A hierarchical recommendation framework that enriches the domain ontologies and retrieves more relevant information resources is proposed in the last part of this paper. The logs and high-grade furniture made from D. odorifera are extremely expensive. It takes several decades for D. odorifera to grow into wood. At present,there is only a small area of newly planted and regenerated forest,and the planting area of D. odorifera is about 15 000 ha in Hainan Island,distributed in the low altitude area of Hainan Island. It is suggested that Hainan D. odorifera island should be built through the transformation of low-yielding forest land,the use of wasteland and marginal cultivated land,land around houses,green belt and roadside land for the cultivation of D. odorifera,and the development area can be up to 100 000-150 000 ha. It is necessary to mobilize farmers to revitalize the rural green economy,plant D. odorifera,beautify the environment,and increase the economic resources of rural trees; actively publicize the legal nature and obligation of D. odorifera protection,and create a strong atmosphere for each family to plant and protect D. odorifera.展开更多

Scientific literature often contains abbreviated terms in English for brief.Machine translation(MT)systems can help to share knowledge in different languages among researchers.Current MT systems may translate the same...Scientific literature often contains abbreviated terms in English for brief.Machine translation(MT)systems can help to share knowledge in different languages among researchers.Current MT systems may translate the same abbreviated term in different sentences into different target terms.MT systems translate the abbreviated term in two ways:one is to use translation of the full name,the other is to use the abbreviated term directly.Abbreviated terms may be ambiguous and polysemous,and MT systems do not have an explicit strategy to decide which way to use without context information.To get the consistent translation for abbreviated terms in scientific literature,this paper proposes a translation model for abbreviated terms that integrates context information to get consistent translation of abbreviated terms.The context information includes the positions of abbreviated term and domain attributes of scientific literature.The first abbreviated term is translated in full name while the latter ones of the same abbreviated term will show the abbreviated form in the translation text.Experiments of translation from Chinese to English show the effectiveness of the proposed translation model.展开更多

文摘Purpose: Formal concept analysis(FCA) and concept lattice theory(CLT) are introduced for constructing a network of IDR topics and for evaluating their effectiveness for knowledge structure exploration.Design/methodology/approach: We introduced the theory and applications of FCA and CLT, and then proposed a method for interdisciplinary knowledge discovery based on CLT. As an example of empirical analysis, interdisciplinary research(IDR) topics in Information & Library Science(LIS) and Medical Informatics, and in LIS and Geography-Physical, were utilized as empirical fields. Subsequently, we carried out a comparative analysis with two other IDR topic recognition methods.Findings: The CLT approach is suitable for IDR topic identification and predictions.Research limitations: IDR topic recognition based on the CLT is not sensitive to the interdisciplinarity of topic terms, since the data can only reflect whether there is a relationship between the discipline and the topic terms. Moreover, the CLT cannot clearly represent a large amounts of concepts.Practical implications: A deeper understanding of the IDR topics was obtained as the structural and hierarchical relationships between them were identified, which can help to get more precise identification and prediction to IDR topics.Originality/value: IDR topics identification based on CLT have performed well and this theory has several advantages for identifying and predicting IDR topics. First, in a concept lattice, there is a partial order relation between interconnected nodes, and consequently, a complete concept lattice can present hierarchical properties. Second, clustering analysis of IDR topics based on concept lattices can yield clusters that highlight the essential knowledge features and help display the semantic relationship between different IDR topics. Furthermore, the Hasse diagram automatically displays all the IDR topics associated with the different disciplines, thus forming clusters of specific concepts and visually retaining and presenting the associations of IDR topics through multiple inheritance relationships between the concepts.

文摘Nitrogen(N),a macronutrient essential for plant growth and development,is needed for biosynthesis of protein and starch,which affect grain yield and quality.Application of high-N fertilizer increases plant growth,grain yield,and flour quality.In this study,we performed the first comparative analysis of gliadin and glutenin subproteomes during kernel development in the elite Chinese wheat cultivar Zhongmai 175 under high-N conditions by reversed-phase ultra-performance liquid chromatography and twodimensional difference gel electrophoresis(2D-DIGE).Application of high-N fertilizer led to significant increases in gluten macropolymer content,total gliadin and glutenin content,and the accumulation of individual storage protein components.Of 126 differentially accumulated proteins(DAPs)induced by high-N conditions,24 gliadins,12 high-molecularweight glutenins,and 27 low-molecular-weight glutenins were significantly upregulated.DAPs during five kernel developmental stages displayed multiple patterns of accumulation.In particular,gliadins and glutenins showed respectively five and six accumulation patterns.The accumulation of storage proteins under high-N conditions may lead to improved dough properties and bread quality.
文摘This paper has briefly analyzed the publication status of Chinese stomatology papers in 2009 with statistics from Journal Citation Reports provided by Thomson Scientific. Only those papers with the first author coming from the mainland of China were included for calculations. We have found a significant increase in the number of SCIE-indexed papers, most of which were published by six dental institutions in China. Among all Chinese medical institutions, West China School of Stomatology Sichuan University is the first dental institution to enter the top-20 list with the most publications, and it also ranks the 9th in the number of outstanding articles. West China School of Stomatology Sichuan University and the Forth Military Medical University are the only two dental institutions in China which have published SCIE-indexed papers over a hundred. The former has published the most SCIE-indexed stomatology papers, while the latter has the highest average impact factor. As the laboratories and funds in China have close connections with various dental hospitals, the pratice of translational medicine in dentistry is fast and fluent.

文摘This study presents a clustering algorithm based on hierarchical expansion to solve the problem of community detection in scientific collaboration network. The characteristics of achievements information related to scientific and technological domains are analyzed,and then an ontology that represents their latent collaborative relations is built to detect clusters from the collaboration network. A case study is conducted to collect a data set of research achievements in the electric vehicle field and better clustering results are obtained. A hierarchical recommendation framework that enriches the domain ontologies and retrieves more relevant information resources is proposed in the last part of this paper. This work also lays out a novel insight into the exploitation of scientific collaboration network to better classify achievements information.

文摘This paper introduces the distribution, membership structure and industrial structure of farmers' specialized cooperatives in Hainan Province, and points out some problems in farmers' specialized cooperatives in Hainan Province, such as small scale, low ability to resist risks, lack of standardization in operation, and generally low quality of cooperative members. Finally the following development strategies are put forth: promoting the large scale and standardized development of farmers' specialized cooperatives; enhancing institutionalized education and training for members; encouraging university graduates to work in the cooperatives; providing conventional credit support to cooperatives; increasing fiscal efficiency to support cooperatives.

文摘Open source intelligence is one of the most important public data sources for strategic information analysis. One of the primary and core issues of strategic information research is information perception,so this paper mainly expounds the perception method for strategic information perception in the open source intelligence environment as well as the framework and basic process of information perception. This paper argues that in order to match the information perception result with the information depiction result,it conducts practical exploration for the results of information acquisition,perception,depiction and analysis. This paper introduces and develops a monitoring platform for information perception. The results show that the method proposed in this paper is feasible.

文摘Dalbergia odorifera is particularly scarce,and the D. odorifera furniture and commercial raw materials on the market are mainly old furniture and agricultural tools,as well as commercially collected D. odorifera logs. The logs and high-grade furniture made from D. odorifera are extremely expensive. It takes several decades for D. odorifera to grow into wood. At present,there is only a small area of newly planted and regenerated forest,and the planting area of D. odorifera is about 15 000 ha in Hainan Island,distributed in the low altitude area of Hainan Island. It is suggested that Hainan D. odorifera island should be built through the transformation of low-yielding forest land,the use of wasteland and marginal cultivated land,land around houses,green belt and roadside land for the cultivation of D. odorifera,and the development area can be up to 100 000-150 000 ha. It is necessary to mobilize farmers to revitalize the rural green economy,plant D. odorifera,beautify the environment,and increase the economic resources of rural trees; actively publicize the legal nature and obligation of D. odorifera protection,and create a strong atmosphere for each family to plant and protect D. odorifera.

文摘A large number of theoretical and empirical studies on citation behavior have been conducted internationally.Although some theoretical studies on such topic have been carried out in China,few studies have focused specifically on this area from an empirical perspective,resulting in the lack of literature on the findings of actual surveys.To address this challenge,we conducted two questionnaire surveys to understand the motivations of the researchers on citation.One survey covers the authors who published articles in Chinese Journal of Scientific and Technical Periodicals,while the other targets the most productive and most cited Chinese authors in library and information science.The results show that citation behavior is not only motivated by rational factors,but also by other social factors.

文摘Taking ISI Web of Science thesis database as the data source of document retrieval,and biomass energy and related words as the index words,a retrieval of papers from 2000 to 2013 was conducted,and the research and development situation of international biomass energy were analyzed from aspects of quantity,region,organization,sources,subject and influence. The results show that the number of papers on biomass energy research presented the linear growth as a whole over the past years. United States,China,Germany and Canada had become the focus countries of the study of biomass energy. Environmental science and ecology,agronomy,engineering and bio-technology,etc. had become the key areas of biomass energy research. Highly cited papers in the field of biomass energy had published in Nature,Science,Chemical Reviews and so forth,which shows that biomass energy research has become an international hot spot.

文摘In the big data environment, the construction of massive S&T literature data resources needs intelligent technical assistance. With a focus on comparing the domestic and foreign knowledge organization systems and their applications, this article analyzes and summarizes the gaps in related researches and applications at home and abroad. A knowledge organization system framework for S&T literature data resources is presented in the article. Starting from the basic element of knowledge organization system, it also proposes and designs terminology-based analysis methods and technologies for S&T literature. Based on this framework, it proposes ideas and develops corresponding software tool to carry out relevant experiments. It gives an overview of theories and technologies method for future research.

文摘The study tries to reveal the situation and development trends of China's graphene research utilizing National Science and Technology Reports(NSTR) as the new data resource. Findings show a continual increase of graphene projects sponsored by the government. Most of them are from the National Basic Research Program of China and the National High-tech R&D Program,which reflects mainly aiming for breakthroughs of China's graphene research in major frontier fields and promoting industrial competitiveness. As a new material in nanometer area,the graphene research mainly focuses on nanometer research area. Besides,it has also involved more in the promising applications,such as advanced energy technology,biological and medical technology,testing and analytical instrument technology,etc. Major players are universities and research institutes,and they have collaborated a lot. Few enterprises have played an important role in the collaboration network,so China's graphene research is still mainly in the basic research step. Key scholars with their research interests have been revealed.

文摘DNA storage as a disruptive technology is expected to solve the problem of massive data storage.Based on bibliometric analysis of DNA storage related papers and patents,this paper analyzes the development trend of DNA storage technology.The results show that DNA technology is still in the development stage,in which only a small number of researchers are involved.USA is the global leading country of DNA storage research.Both universities and companies in USA have played an important role in promoting DNA storage research.China is second only to USA in the number of DNA storage related papers or patents.However,in terms of patents layout,Chinese institutions don’t have sufficient intention of opening up the global market in the application of DNA storage.Although there have been several breakthrough advances in DNA storage,there are still many challenges to be solved.

文摘Scientific literature often contains abbreviated terms in English for brief.Machine translation(MT)systems can help to share knowledge in different languages among researchers.Current MT systems may translate the same abbreviated term in different sentences into different target terms.MT systems translate the abbreviated term in two ways:one is to use translation of the full name,the other is to use the abbreviated term directly.Abbreviated terms may be ambiguous and polysemous,and MT systems do not have an explicit strategy to decide which way to use without context information.To get the consistent translation for abbreviated terms in scientific literature,this paper proposes a translation model for abbreviated terms that integrates context information to get consistent translation of abbreviated terms.The context information includes the positions of abbreviated term and domain attributes of scientific literature.The first abbreviated term is translated in full name while the latter ones of the same abbreviated term will show the abbreviated form in the translation text.Experiments of translation from Chinese to English show the effectiveness of the proposed translation model.

文摘The research performance of top universities in China is revealed in this study and analyzed using the essential science indicators(ESI) database.Different types of bibliometric indicators are applied in this study,including publication output and impact indicators.This study finds that the academic performance of universities in China is advancing rapidly,with many universities coming out near the top of the rankings,especially in terms of quantity of papers.The quantitative performance of universities in China is remarkable.The research results show that there is a considerable gap between quality and quantity of research output at the top universities of China,with research influence concentrated on some specific fields for selected universities.Engineering,Chemistry and Material Science are the fields with relatively outstanding performance in the top universities.
