Strengthening the Reporting of Observational Studies in Epidemiology(STROBE) strategy was chosen as the tool for quality assessment of included studies, and data concerning the basic study characteristics and assessment indicators were extracted. Results: Eleven studies were included in this review. The assessment indicators in different reports covered heart rate, blood pressure, placental and birth canal check, hemoglobin(Hb), hematocrit(HCT),coagulation function tests, hemodynamic parameters and arterial blood gas, but no data on the assessment of postpartum uterine contraction were found. The relationship between indicators and blood loss varies. The overall quality of 9 manuscripts was comparatively high or moderate, and 2 were rated as low. Conclusions: The association between blood loss and clinical symptoms is not conclusive based on the present studies, and specific cut-off points could not be formulated to determine the approximate amount of blood loss. However, some cut-off points can be considered warning signs for the need of advanced interventions, such as heart rate, prothrombin time, and placental implantation. Further research on comprehensive assessment and cut-off points should be performed such that birth attendants can distinguish PPH as early as possible.展开更多

In a pilot study to observe the bone marrow suppression and regeneration in tumor bearing mice induced by single dose injection of 5-fluorouracil (5-FU), we unexpectedly found that tumors grew fast as bone marrow mononuclear cells (BMC) and peripheral white blood cells (PWBC) were decreased quickly during myelosuppression meanwhile significantly slow as repopulating of BMC and PWBC during bone marrow regeneration after 5-FU treatment, no matter whether in low or high dose administration, but the higher the dose was, the lower of the nadir of BMC and PWBC were reached to, as well as the much more powerful duration and strength of the repopulated BMC and PWBC, suggested that the immunity might be a predominant drive in 5-FU chemotherapy. Due to the fact that BMC is the source of PWBC which is its final maturational and functional form, it could be proposed that the anti-proliferative effect of 5-FU on tumor is highly associated with the renewal of PWBC.展开更多

Methods Women with intrauterine fetal death were randomized into 3 groups. Group A (n=30): vaginal misoprostol (MP) 0.4 mg, 3 h before vacuum aspiration; group B(n=15): vaginal MP 0.4 mg every 3 h, up to 5 doses; group C(n=30): oral mifepristone (MF) 200 mg 36-48 h before vaginal MP 0.4 mg, MP was given every 3 h, up to 5 doses. Results Women in group A had the shortest interval of gestation tissue expulsion (3.2± 0.5 h) and the bleeding (3.2 ± 5.7 ml) during medical procedure, which were statistically significant in comparison with the other two groups (P〈0.001, P〈0.01, respectively). Success rates of groups A, B and C were 100%, 33.3% and 90.0%, respectively. Percentages of women need surgical interventions were similar in group B and group C(80.0%,76.7%, respectively). Bleeding during operation, pain after medical procedure and satisfaction presented no statistical significance among the 3 groups. Conclusion Vaginal MP followed by vacuum aspiration was valuable in safety, and efficacy, which led to less bleeding and a faster recovery.展开更多

However, the mechanisms by which they are coupled and the reproductive signals modu- lating fat metabolism and lifaspan are poorly under- stood. Here, we find that an oogenesis-enriched gene, c30PI2.4, is specifically expressed and located in germ cells and early embryos; when the gene is knocked out, oogenesis is disrupted and brood size is decreased. In addition to the reproductive phenotype, we find that the loss of c30f12.4 alters fat metabolism, resulting in decreased fat storage and smaller lipid droplets. Mean- while, c30f12.4 mutant worms display a shortened lifaspan. Our results highlight an important role for c30f12.4 in regulating reproduction, fat homeostasis, and aging in C. elegans, which helps us to better understand the relationship between these processes.展开更多

Indexes such as blood loss volume, operation-associated complications, serum hCG level ultrasound imaging and hospitalization cost were analyzed. Results Thirty-eight women accepted D&C following UAE (group A), 10 patients had medicine (3 took trichosanthin injection, 7 took MTX injection) before UAE and D&C (group B). Uterine packing following emergency UAE were performed in another 3 women due to severe hemorrhage during direct curettage without pretreatment (group C). There were no statistically significant differences between group A and group B about the serum fl-hCG level resolution time and the blood loss in the opertation. Patients had shorter duration of hospital stay (P〈0.01) and cheaper cost of hospitalization (P〈0.05) of group A than group B.Conclusion Pretreatment with UAE before curettage is safe and effective in terminating CSP, reducing hospitalization cost. UAE followed by curettage is recommended to medical facilities where UAE is available.展开更多
