As a result, anti-terrorism and emergency response strategies are tasks of critical importance that have a direct impact on the national security of every country in the world. This paper reviews new characteristics of international anti-terrorism measures and offers an in-depth reflection on emergency medical response countermeasures; additionally, this paper presents the goals of related research, which include: 1) to present a model of a highly efficient medical response command; 2) to introduce the pre-planning phases of the emergency medical response; 3) to establish a response system capable of handling various types of terror attacks; 4) to promote anti-terrorism awareness to the general public and emphasize its prevention; and 5) to continue basic investigations into emergency medical responses for various types of terrorist attacks(for example, the classifications and characteristics of new injuries, pathophysiology, prevention and treatment of the resultant stress disorders, improved high-efficiency medical response measures and equipment, etc.).展开更多

All the relat...AIM: To evaluate the risk factors for primary liver carcinoma (PLC) in Chinese population.METHODS: Chinese Biomedical Literature Database, China Hospital Knowledge Database and MEDLINE were searched. All the related literatures were screened, and the risk factors for PLC in Chinese population were studied. Heterogeneity was evaluated by odds ratio (OR) q test. Combined OR and its 95% confidence interval (95%CI)were calculated, the association between the investigated risk factors and PLC was determined. Validity and bias of the findings were evaluated by sensitivity analysis and funnel plot analysis respectively.RESULTS: Fifty-five of one hundred and ninety identified studies were accepted according to the inclusive criteria. Ten factors related to PLC were demonstrated by sensitive analysis and funnel plot analysis. They were cirrhosis (OR = 11.97, P= 0.000), HBV infection (OR = 11.34, P= 0.000),HCV infection (OR = 4.28, P = 0.000), family history of liver cancer (OR = 3.49, P = 0.000), unstable emotion (OR = 2.20, P = 0.000), depressed characters (OR = 3.07,P = 0.000), aflatoxin (OR = 1.80, P = 0.000), alcoholic (OR = 1.88, P = 0.000), intake of musty food (OR =1.87,P = 0.000) and drinking contaminated water from pond (OR = 1.77, P = 0.003).CONCLUSION: The main risk factors for PLC in China are liver diseases, family history of liver carcinoma, poor psychic status, aflatoxin, and some unhealthy behaviors.展开更多

Mounting studies have shown that the number of lymph nodes dissection directly affects the prognosis and recurrence of gastric cancer. Our previous study showed that there was no obvious lymph node around the abnormal hepatic artery derived from the superior mesenteric artery. AIM To investigate the relationship between celiac artery variation and the number of lymph nodes dissection in gastric cancer surgery. METHODS The clinicopathological data of 421 patients treated with radical D2 lymphadenectomy were analyzed retrospectively. The difference of the number of lymph nodes dissection between the celiac artery variation group and the normal vessels group and the relationship with prognosis were analyzed. RESULTS Celiac artery variation was found in 110 patients, with a variation rate of 26.13%. Celiac artery variation, tumor staging, and Borrmann typing were factors that affected lymph node clearance in gastric cancer, and the number of lymph nodes dissection in patients with celiac artery variation was significantly less than that of non-variant groups (P < 0.05). Univariate analysis showed that there was no significant difference in survival time between the two groups (P > 0.05). Univariate and multiple Cox regression analysis showed that celiac artery variation was not a prognostic factor for gastric cancer (P > 0.05). Tumor staging, intraoperative bleeding, and positive lymph node ratio were prognostic factors for gastric cancer patients (all P < 0.05). CONCLUSION The number of lymph nodes dissection in patients with celiac artery variation was reduced, but there was no obvious effect on prognosis. Therefore, lymph nodes around the abnormal hepatic artery may not need to be dissected in radical D2 lymphadenectomy.展开更多

Supposing the keratin cell with a special geometry as tetrakaidecahedron, the penetration property of stratum corneum was the key problem which was numerically simulated with finite element method. At first the discretization of the stratum corneum region was given in two steps: first, the discretization of the keratin cell; second, the discretization of fattiness that surrounds the keratin. Then there was the work of numerical simulation. In this procedure, the finite element method and the multi-grid method were used. The former was to obtain the discretization of basic elements; the latter was to decrease the high frequency error. At last the visualization of the numerical simulation was shown.展开更多

Pancreatic cystic disease is being increasingly identified in patients,and many relevant papers have been published in this field.A bibliometric analysis was previously performed to identify the most influential studi...Pancreatic cystic disease is being increasingly identified in patients,and many relevant papers have been published in this field.A bibliometric analysis was previously performed to identify the most influential studies in many subject areas,and the top 100 most cited papers on pancreatic cystic disease were analyzed in this study.The Web of Science database was searched for all papers related to pancreatic cystic disease on June 9,2018.The top 100 most cited papers were selected and listed in descending order based on the total number of citations(TCs).The author,journal,institution,country of origin,and research focus were further analyzed.The most cited papers were published between 1975 and 2015.Intraductal papillary mucinous neoplasm was the most commonly studied subtype(36%),followed by pancreatic pseudocyst(16%),solid pseudopapillary neoplasm(9%),and mucinous cystic neoplasm(7%).The average number of TCs was 282,and the average citation index value was 21.Thirty-eight journals published the top 100 papers;Annals of Surgery(n=14)and Gastrointestinal Endoscopy(n=11)published the most papers.Most papers were published in the United States of America(59%),with the majority from Johns Hopkins Medical Institution(15%).Canto MI from Johns Hopkins Medical Institution authored the largest number of most cited papers(n=8).This study reviews the significant achievements and developmental trends in pancreatic cystic disease.Abbreviations:CI=citation index,IPMN=intraductal papillary mucinous neoplasm,MCN=mucinous cystic neoplasm,PP=pancreatic pseudocyst,SCN=serous cystic neoplasm,SPN=solid pseudopapillary neoplasm,TC=total number of citation.展开更多
