Teaching Applied Piano Singing While Playing Based on Xindi Applied Piano Pedagogy:Taking Fujian Vocational College of Art as an Example

As known to all,China has witnessed remarkable development in addition to its effective implementation of the“double reduction”policy.Under such circumstance,the piano has drawn more interest and parental affection as a vital course that may improve students’all-round qualities.While piano education is gaining momentum,the country has raised the requirements for the piano teacher workforce in terms of their professional qualities.Under the background of promoting quality-oriented education nationwide,piano education in Chinese vocational colleges of art has garnered more attention.In contrast to applied piano instruction,which has received wide recognition and promotion,the traditional elite private teaching model targeted at nurturing pianists has more than ever failed to meet societal demands.The majority of graduates from vocational colleges of art seem to be unable to apply what they have learned.They are unable to compose accompaniment for simple songs,write piano music,provide piano accompaniment for singers,or sing while playing the piano.As a result,they fall short of living up to the expectations of piano teaching and meeting the needs of music teacher employment in primary and secondary schools.The development of“Xindi Applied Piano Pedagogy”can effectively address the aforementioned problems.As piano teachers,the authors experimented with Xindi Applied Piano Pedagogy to teach singing while playing the piano to first-year students at Fujian Vocational College of Art.A measurement table was used to measure the differences in various musical abilities of those students after the experiment,statistical analysis of the data was performed,and the preliminary results were obtained.The results showed that training in Applied Piano Singing while Playing led to a noticeable improvement in students’musical literacy,harmonic hearing,singing while playing beloved songs,and other abilities.Xindi Applied Piano Pedagogy is guided by the philosophy of talent cultivation,featuring“application,theories,and practice.”It can be tailored to different students,so that they can indeed apply what they have learned and enhance their practical and innovative capabilities. 展开更多

Xindi Applied Piano Pedagogy(XAPP)is one of the key achievements of Chinese music education reform in recent years,reflecting the booming of piano education in China.Twenty years after its establishment,the pedagogy has been widely accepted by society.Based on the PDCA(plan-do-check-act)cycle,the paper studies XAPP in relation to teaching quality management,hoping to achieve quality teaching results by improving teaching models and quality.In order to investigate the XAPP teaching process,a closed-loop management on XAPP’s teaching quality is formed,and the questions are divided into different modules:teaching team building,curriculum design,course in effect,teaching materials selection,teacher assessment and rectification,customer satisfaction survey,as well as teaching evaluation and feedback.The application of the PDCA cycle in XAPP’s teaching quality management is then analyzed,with an aim to optimize applied piano teaching management and improve XAPP’s teaching system,curriculum design,teaching materials,and theoretical framework.This paper also studies XAPP from a management perspective,which not only promotes the development of music education,but also expands the research field of music education management. 展开更多

Latent information is difficult to get from the text in speech synthesis.Studies show that features from speech can get more information to help text encoding.In the field of speech encoding,a lot of work has been conducted on two aspects.The first aspect is to encode speech frame by frame.The second aspect is to encode the whole speech to a vector.But the scale in these aspects is fixed.So,encoding speech with an adjustable scale for more latent information is worthy of investigation.But current alignment approaches only support frame-by-frame encoding and speech-to-vector encoding.It remains a challenge to propose a new alignment approach to support adjustable scale speech encoding.This paper presents the dynamic speech encoder with a new alignment approach in conjunction with frame-by-frame encoding and speech-to-vector encoding.The speech feature fromourmodel achieves three functions.First,the speech feature can reconstruct the origin speech while the length of the speech feature is equal to the text length.Second,our model can get text embedding fromspeech,and the encoded speech feature is similar to the text embedding result.Finally,it can transfer the style of synthesis speech and make it more similar to the given reference speech. 展开更多

Medical image segmentation plays an important role in clinical diagnosis,quantitative analysis,and treatment process.Since 2015,U-Net-based approaches have been widely used formedical image segmentation.The purpose of the U-Net expansive path is to map low-resolution encoder feature maps to full input resolution feature maps.However,the consecutive deconvolution and convolutional operations in the expansive path lead to the loss of some high-level information.More high-level information can make the segmentationmore accurate.In this paper,we propose MU-Net,a novel,multi-path upsampling convolution network to retain more high-level information.The MU-Net mainly consists of three parts:contracting path,skip connection,and multi-expansive paths.The proposed MU-Net architecture is evaluated based on three different medical imaging datasets.Our experiments show that MU-Net improves the segmentation performance of U-Net-based methods on different datasets.At the same time,the computational efficiency is significantly improved by reducing the number of parameters by more than half. 展开更多
