Rational design of efficient and robust earth-abundant alkaline hydrogen evolution reaction(HER)catalysts is a key factor for developing energy conversion technologies.Currently,antiperovskite nitride CuNMn_(3)has garnered significant interest due to its remarkable properties such as negative/zero thermal expansion and magnetocaloric effects.However,when utilized as hydrogen evolution catalysts,it encounters large challenge resulting from excessively strong/weak interactions with adsorbed H on Mn/Cu active sites,which leads to low HER activity.In this study,we introduce an asymmetric orbital hybridization strategy in Zn-doped Cu_(1-x)Zn_(x)NMn_(3)by leveraging the localization of Zn electronic states to reconfigure the electronic structures of Cu and Mn,thereby reducing the energy barrier for water dissociation and optimizing Cu and Mn active sites for hydrogen adsorption and H_(2)production.Electrochemical evaluations reveal that Cu_(0.85)Zn_(0.15)NMn_(3)with x=0.15 demonstrates exceptional electrocatalytic activity in alkaline electrolytes.A low overpotential of 52 mV at 10 mA cm^(-2)and outstanding stability over a 150-h test period are achieved,surpassing commercial Pt/C.This research offers a novel strategy for enhancing HER performance by modulating asymmetric hybridization of electron orbitals between multiple metal atoms within a material structure. 展开更多

OSAHS(Obstructive Sleep Apnea Hypopnea Syndrome)is a respiratory disease mainly characterized by limited and repeated pauses of breathing in sleep.Currently,the optimal treatment is to apply CPAP(Continuous Positive Airway Pressure)ventilation on the upper airway of the patient through a household respiratory machine.However,if the ventilator mask is designed improperly,it might cause the residue and repeated inhalation of CO2,which will exert an adverse impact on the therapeutic effect.Present research numerically analyzed the CO2 transportation inside a commercial ventilator mask(Mirage SoftGel,ResMed,Australia)based on the reconstructed 3D numerical model of a volunteer's face and performed the improved design of the ventilator mask in terms of the CO2 residual concentration below the nostrils.The fluid dynamic analyses showed that at the end time of expiratory,the CO2 residual concentration below the nostrils is close to 4%.To improve the therapeutic effect,we changed the position of the exhaust holes and found that by moving the exhaust holes to the bottom of the ventilator mask,the CO2 residual concentration below the nostrils would be reduced to no more than 1%.This study established a near physiological computational model and provided a new method for the individualized design of the commercial ventilator mask. 展开更多

Complex networks have recently attracted much attention in diverse areas of science and technology. Many networks such as the WWW and biological networks are known to display spatial heterogeneity which can be characterized by their fractal dimensions. Multifractal analysis is a useful way to systematically describe the spatial heterogeneity of both theoretical and experimental fractal patterns. In this paper, we introduce a new box-covering algorithm for multifractal analysis of complex networks. This algorithm is used to calculate the generalized fractal dimensions Dq of some theoretical networks, namely scale-free networks, small world networks, and random networks, and one kind of real network, namely protein protein interaction networks of different species. Our numerical results indicate the existence of multifractality in scale-free networks and protein protein interaction networks, while the multifractal behavior is not clear-cut for small world networks and random networks. The possible variation of Dq due to changes in the parameters of the theoretical network models is also discussed. 展开更多

The planetary lander usually selects image feature points and tracks them from frame to frame in order to determine its own position and velocity during landing. Aiming to keep features tracking in consecutive frames, this paper proposes an approach of calculating the field of view (FOV) overlapping area in a 2D plane. Then the rotational and translational motion constraints of the lander can be found. If the FOVs intersects each other, the horizontal velocity of the lander is quickly estimated based on the least square method after the ill-conditioned matrices are eliminated previously. The Monte Carlo simulation results show that the proposed approach is not only able to recover the ego-motion of planetary lander, but also improves the stabilization performance. The relationship of the estimation error, running time and number of points is shown in the simulation results as well. © 2014 Chinese Association of Automation. 展开更多

Epitaxial LaNiO_(3)(LNO)thin films prepared from the sols modified with polyethyleneimine(PEI)were grown on single-crystal LaAlO_(3),(LaAlO_(3))_(0.3)(SrAlTaO_(6))_(0.7),and SrTiO_(3) substrates,respectively,using a simple polymer assisted deposition(PAD).The epitaxial structure,surface morphologies and transport of the LNO films were studied by X-ray diffraction(θ/2θ symmetric scan,ω-scan,and in-planeφ-scan),the field emission scanning electron microscopy,and a standard dc four-probe method.It is found that,compared with that of LNO bulk,the c-axis parameter of the LNO film increases under compressive strain and decreases under tensile strain.All the LNO films exhibit metal properties in the temperature-dependent resistivity.The resistivity of the LNO films shows an increasing trend with the lattice mismatch strain changing from compressive to tensile.It is suggested that the oxygen vacancy compensated by more Ni^(2+)changed from Ni^(3+)in the film increases with the strain changing from compressive to tensile,which results in the increase of the resistivity. 展开更多

This study introduces a deterministic formulation for modelling the asymptotic spread of a vaccine preventable disease as well as the different stages for the progression of the disease.We derive the formula for the associated basic reproduction number.To illustrate the proposed model,we use data from the 2017-2018 diphtheria outbreak in Yemen and fit the parameters of the model.A sensitivity analysis of the basic reproduction number,with respect to the model parameters,show that this number increases with an increase of the transmission rate while this number decreases when vaccination rate increases. 展开更多

The entanglement for a two-parameter class of states in a high-dimension (m n,n≥m≥3) bipartite quantum system is discussed.The negativity (N) and the relative entropy of entanglement (Er) are calculated,and the analytic expressions are obtained.Finally the relation between the negativity and the relative entropy of entanglement is discussed.The result demonstrates that all PPT states of the two-parameter class of states are separable,and all entangled states are NPT states.Different from the 2 ? n quantum system,the negativity for a two-parameter class of states in high dimension is not always greater than or equal to the relative entropy of entanglement.The more general relation expression is mN/2≥Er. 展开更多

Based on the definition of fractional Fourier transform(FrFT) in the cylindrical coordinate system,the propagation properties of a controllable dark-hollow beam(CDHB) are investigated in detail.An analytical formula is derived for the FrFT of a CDHB.By using the derived formula,the properties of a CDHB in the FrFT plane are illustrated numerically.The results show that the properties of the intensity of the beam in the FrFT are closely related to not only the fractional order but also initial beam parameter,beam order and the lens focal length of the optical system for performing FrFT.The derived formula provides an effective and convenient way for analyzing and calculating the FrFT of a CDHB. 展开更多

Controlling the orientation of the emissive dipole has led to a renaissance of organic light-emitting diode(OLED)research,with external quantum efficiencies(EQEs)of>30%being reported for phosphorescent emitters.These highly efficient OLEDs are generally manufactured using evaporative methods and are comprised of small-molecule heteroleptic phosphorescent iridium(III)complexes blended with a host and additional layers to balance charge injection and transport.Large area OLEDs for lighting and display applications would benefit from low-cost solution processing,provided that high EQEs could be achieved.Here,we show that poly(dendrimer)s consisting of a non-conjugated polymer backbone with iridium(III)complexes forming the cores of firstgeneration dendrimer side chains can be co-deposited with a host by solution processing to give highly efficient devices.Simple bilayer devices comprising the emissive layer and an electron transport layer gave an EQE of>20%at luminances of up to≈300 cd/m^(2),showing that polymer engineering can enable alignment of the emissive dipole of solution-processed phosphorescent materials. 展开更多

Self-localization and orientation estimation are the essential capabilities for mobile robot navigation.In this article,a robust and real-time visual-inertial-GNSS(Global Navigation Satellite System)tightly coupled pose estimation(RRVPE)method for aerial robot navigation is presented.The aerial robot carries a front-facing stereo camera for self-localization and an RGB-D camera to generate 3D voxel map.Ulteriorly,a GNSS receiver is used to continuously provide pseudorange,Doppler frequency shift and universal time coordinated(UTC)pulse signals to the pose estimator.The proposed system leverages the Kanade Lucas algorithm to track Shi-Tomasi features in each video frame,and the local factor graph solution process is bounded in a circumscribed container,which can immensely abandon the computational complexity in nonlinear optimization procedure.The proposed robot pose estimator can achieve camera-rate(30 Hz)performance on the aerial robot companion computer.We thoroughly experimented the RRVPE system in both simulated and practical circumstances,and the results demonstrate dramatic advantages over the state-of-the-art robot pose estimators. 展开更多

Also, the authors derive an adjusted empirical likelihood method which is shown to have a central chi-square limiting distribution. A range of analysis approaches,namely continuous wavelet,cross wavelet,and wavelet coherence analyses,are employed to clarify the phase relationship between the smoothed monthly mean sunspot number and solar 10.7 cm flux(F10.7).Analysis shows that there is a region of high spectral power sitting across the Schwabe cycle belt,where the two time series are in phase.However,analysis of the cross-wavelet transform and wavelet coherence unveils asynchronous behavior featured with phase mixing in the high-frequency components of sunspot activity and solar F10.7,which may explain the different activity properties of the photosphere and corona on a short time scale. 展开更多

We propose a plasmonic sensor with variable refractive index(RI),which exhibits high sensitivity and extraordinary optical transmission(EOT).Its variable RI is attributed to its dielectric layers and metallic slit arrays.According to simulation results,the third resonant wavelength has a wavelength sensitivity of 800 nm/RIU and an ultra-high transmittance of 0.8 by adjusting the RIs of the upper and lower dielectrics,incident light angle,and structural geometric parameters.With its unique features,the proposed structure holds considerable potential for extensive application to metal–dielectric grating sensors operating at visible and near-infrared frequencies. 展开更多

A high performance optical sensor based on a double compound symmetric gratings(DCSGs) structure is designed. The reflection spectrum of the DCSG is investigated by utilizing a method that combines a theoretical model with the eigenmode information of the grating structure. The theoretical results, which are observed to agree well with those acquired by rigorous coupled-wave analysis, show that the linewidth of the reflection spectrum decreases upon the increasing distance between the grating strips. This research work will lay a foundation for studying high performance integrated optical sensors in miniature nanostructures. 展开更多
