The spreading rate of the Gakkel ridge decreases gradually from west to east. However, the Gakkel ridge can be divided into four thick-and-thin zones with varying crustal thicknesses along ridge axis. This phenomenon indicates that mantle melting of the Gakkel ridge is not a simple function of spreading rate. Mantle temperature, water content, mantle composition, and other factors are important in crustal accretion processes. Based on gravity-derived crustal thickness and wet melting model, we estimate that the mantle potential temperatures of the four zones are1 270, 1 220, 1 280, and 1 280°C(assuming that mantle water content equals to global average value), with corresponding mantle water contents of 210, 0, 340, and 280 mg/kg(assuming that mantle potential temperature is 1 260°C), respectivly. The western thinned crust zone is best modeled with low mantle temperature, whereas the other zones are mainly controlled by the enhanced conduction caused by the slower spreading rate. Along the Gakkel ridge, the crustal thickness is consistent with rock samples types. Predominated serpentinized peridotite and basalt are found in the area with crustal thickness <1.5 km and >2.5 km, respectively. The rock samples are including from basalt to peridotite in the area with crustal thickness between 1.5 and 2.5 km. Based on this consistency, the traditional magmatic accretion zone accounted for only 44% and amagmatic accretion accounted for 29% of the Gakkel ridge. The amagmatic accretion is a significant characteristic of the ultra-slow spreading ridge.展开更多

The drifter data used in this study includes Argos and surface drifter data from Global Drifter Program. Maps of Sea Level Anomaly(MSLA) weekly files with a resolution of(1/3)° in both Latitude and Longitude for the period 1993–2012 have been used. The Ekman current is computed using ocean surface mean wind fields from scatterometers onboard ERS 1/2,Quikscat and ASCAT. The derived mean velocity field exhibits the broad flow of Antarctic Circumpolar Current with speeds up to 0.6 m/s.Anomalous field is quite significant in the western part between 20° and 40°E and in the eastern part between 80°E and 100°E with velocity anomaly up to 0.3 m/s. The estimated mean flow pattern well agrees with the dynamic topography derived from in-situ observations. Also, the derived velocity field is consistent with the in-situ ADCP current measurements. Eddy kinetic energy illustrates an increasing trend during 1993–2008 and is in phase coherence with the Southern Annular Mode by three month lag. Periodic modulations are found in the eddy kinetic energy due the low frequency Antarctic Circumpolar Wave propagation.展开更多

文摘Western Subarctic Gyre(WSG),which possesses distinctive differences in oceanographic and biogeochemical processes,is situated in the northwest subarctic Pacific. The WSG is characterized by high nutrient and low chlorophyll. We carried out a field investigation in this area in summer 2020 and performed microscopic observation, cytometric counting, and RuBisCO large subunit(rbc L)gene analysis to understand the community structure and spatial distribution of chromophytic phytoplankton better.Microscopic method revealed that total phytoplankton(>10μm,including Bacillariophyta,Dinoflagellata,Ochrophyta, and Chlorophyta)abundances ranged(0.6×10^(3))-(167.4×10^(3))cells/L with an increasing trend from south to north.Dinoflagellates and Pennatae diatoms dominated the phytoplankton assemblages in the southern and northern stations, respectively.Major chromophytic phytoplankton groups derived from rbc L genes included Haptophyta,Ochrophyta,Bacillariophyta,as well as rarely occurring groups, such as Xanthophyta,Cyanobacteria,Dinoflagellata,Rhodophyta, and Cryptophyta. At the phylum level,Haptophyta was the most abundant phylum, accounting for approximately 30.80%of the total obtained operational taxonomic units in all samples.Ochrophyta and Bacillariophyta were the second and third most abundant phylum, and their relative abundance was 20.26% and 19.60%,respectively.Further,redundancy analysis showed that high proportion of diatoms(e.g.,microscopic and rbc L methods)was positively correlated with nutrients(e.g.,dissolved inorganic nitrogen(DIN),dissolved inorganic phosphorous, and dissolved silicate(DSi))and negatively correlated with temperature and salinity. The proportion of Ochrophyta,Rhodophyta, and Cyanobateria identified by rbc L genes was positively correlated with salinity and temperature and showed negative correlation to nutrients. This work is the first molecular study of phytoplankton accomplished in the WSG,and our results show some discrepancies between morphological observation and rbc L gene sequences, which highlight the necessity of combining the microscopic and molecular methods to reveal the diversity of phytoplankton in marine environment.

文摘The isotope composition in precipitation has been widely considered as a tracer of monsoon activity.Compared with the coastal region, the monsoon margin usually has limited precipitation with large fluctuation and is usually sensitive to climate change. The water resource management in the monsoon margin should be better planned by understanding the composition of precipitation isotope and its influencing factors. In this study, the precipitation samples were collected at five sampling sites(Baiyin City,Kongtong District,Maqu County,Wudu District, and Yinchuan City)of the monsoon margin in the northwest of China in 2022 to analyze the characteristics of stable hydrogen(δD)and oxygen(δ18O)isotopes.We analyzed the impact of meteorological factors(temperature, precipitation, and relative humidity)on the composition of precipitation isotope at daily level by regression analysis, utilized the Hybrid Single-Particle Lagrangian Integrated Trajectory(HYSPLIT)-based backward trajectory model to simulate the air mass trajectory of precipitation events, and adopted the potential source contribution function(PSCF)and concentration weighted trajectory(CWT)to analyze the water vapor sources. The results showed that compared with the global meteoric water line(GMWL),the slope of the local meteoric water line(LMWL;δD=7.34δ^(18)O-1.16)was lower, indicating the existence of strong regional evaporation in the study area.Temperature significantly contributed toδ18O value, while relative humidity had a significant negative effect onδ18O value.Through the backward trajectory analysis,we found eight primary locations that were responsible for the water vapor sources of precipitation in the study area,of which moisture from the Indian Ocean to South China Sea(ITSC)and the western continental(CW)had the greatest influence on precipitation in the study area. The hydrogen and oxygen isotopes in precipitation are significantly influenced by the sources and transportation paths of air mass.In addition, the results of PSCF and CWT analysis showed that the water vapor source areas were primarily distributed in the south and northwest direction of the study area.

文摘Pyrite is one of the common authigenic minerals in marine sediments.Previous studies have shown that the morphological and isotopic characteristics of pyrite are closely related to the geochemical environment where it is formed. To better understand the for-mation mechanism of authigenic pyrite,we analyzed the isotopic composition, morphology, and distribution of pyrite in the sediment at 500m below the seafloor from Xisha Trough,South China Sea.Mineral morphologies were observed by scanning electron micros-copy and Raman spectrography.X-Ray computed tomography was applied to measure the particle size of pyrite. The size of pyrite crystals in the matrix sediment mainly ranged between 25 and 65µm(av.ca.40µm),although crystals were larger(av.ca.50μm)in the veins. The pyrites had a fine-grained truncated octahedral shape with occasionally well-developed growth steps, which implies the low growth rate and weak anaerobic oxidation of methane-sulfate reduction when pyrite was formed.Theδ^(34)S values of pyrites ranged from+20.8‰Vienna-defined Canyon Diablo Troilite(V-CDT)to+33.2‰V-CDT and from+44.8‰V-CDT to+48.9‰,which suggest two growth stages. In the first stage, with the continuous low methane flux, the pyrite possibly formed in an environment with good access to seawater. In the second stage, the pyrites mainly developed in sediment fractures and appeared in veins, probably due to the limited availability of sulfate. The less exposure of pyrite to the environment in the second stage was probably caused by sediment accumulation or perturbation. In this study,an episodic pyritization process was identified, and the paleoenvironment was reconstructed for the sediment investigated.

文摘Magnetosonic waves are an important medium for energy transfer in collisionless space plasma.Magnetosonic waves have been widely investigated in the upstream of the bow shock at Mars. These waves are believed to originate from pickup ions or reflected particles.By utilizing MAVEN spacecraft data,we have observed the occurrence of quasi-perpendicularly propagating magnetosonic emissions near the proton gyrofrequency in the Martian magnetotail region. These plasma waves are associated with a significant enhancement of proton and oxygen flux. The excited magnetosonic waves could possibly heat the protons through resonance and facilitate the ionospheric plasma escape. Our results could be helpful to better understand the Mars’magnetospheric dynamics and offer insights into possible energy redistribution between waves and plasma in the Martian nightside magnetosphere.

文摘Spreading rate is a primary factor of mantle melting and tectonic behavior of the global mid-ocean ridges. The amagmatic accretion is a significant characteristic of the ultra-slow spreading ridge.

文摘Site U1446(19°50’N,85°44’E,at water depth 1430 m)was drilled during Expedition 353(Indian monsoon rainfall)of the International Ocean Discovery Program(IODP).It is located in the Mahanadi offshore basin,on the northern Bay of Bengal.Sedimentation rates and contents of biocarbonates are high at this relatively shallow site.Using a micropaleontological approach,we examined planktonic and benthic foraminifera in the upper around 40 m of this site, spanning the last around 190 ka.A striking feature of the foraminiferal record is the occurrence of strong but varying dissolution although the site is located well above the modern lysocline.Such strong dissolution has never been reported in this area.We estimated the flux of foraminifera and quantified the ratio of benthic foraminifera over total foraminifera(benthic/total foraminifera)along with the foraminifer fragmentation index in order to characterize past changes in this above-lysocline dissolution. This study reveals a clear glacialinterglacial contrast, with a stronger dissolution during marine isotope stages(MISs)1 and 5 than during MISs 2–4 and 6.Such a difference in preservation is likely to have a strong impact on geochemical proxies measured on foraminifera. Our new observations call for an in-depth study of the causes of such above-lysocline dissolution in the region, and an evaluation of its impact on the foraminifera-based proxies used for paleoenvironmental reconstruction.

文摘An increasing number of marine aquaculture facilities have been placed in shallow bays and open sea, which might significantly affect hydrodynamic and solute transport processes in marine aquaculture waters. In this study,a coupled hydrodynamic and solute transport model was developed with high-resolution schemes in marine aquaculture waters based on depth-averaged shallow water equations.A new expression of drag force was incorporated into the momentum equations to express the resistance of suspended culture cages. The coupled model was used to simulate the effect of suspended structures on tidal currents and the movement of a contaminant cloud in the marine aquaculture of the North Yellow Sea,China. The simulation results showed a low-velocity area appearing inside the aquaculture cage area, with a maximum reduction rate of velocity close to 45%under high-density culture. The results also showed that tidal currents were sensitive to the density of suspended cages, the length of cages, and the drag coefficients of cages. The transport processes of pollutants inside aquaculture facilities were inhibited away from the vicinity of the culture cage area because of the diminished tidal currents. Therefore, the suspended cages significantly affected the transport processes of pollutants in the coastal aquaculture waters.Furthermore, the reduced horizontal velocity significantly decreased the food supply for the aquaculture areas from the surrounding sea.

文摘In the field of energy conversion, the increasing attention on power electronic equipment is fault detection and diagnosis.A power electronic circuit is an essential part of a power electronic system. The state of its internal components affects the performance of the system. The stability and reliability of an energy system can be improved by studying the fault diagnosis of power electronic circuits. Therefore,an algorithm based on adaptive simulated annealing particle swarm optimization(ASAPSO)was used in the present study to optimize a backpropagation(BP)neural network employed for the online fault diagnosis of a power electronic circuit. We built a circuit simulation model in MATLAB to obtain its DC output voltage.Using Fourier analysis,we extracted fault features. These were normalized as training samples and input to an unoptimized BP neural network and BP neural networks optimized by particle swarm optimization(PSO)and the ASAPSO algorithm. The accuracy of fault diagnosis was compared for the three networks. The simulation results demonstrate that a BP neural network optimized with the ASAPSO algorithm has higher fault diagnosis accuracy, better reliability, and adaptability and can more effectively diagnose and locate faults in power electronic circuits.

文摘Notable differences in the structural characteristics and evolution of three adjacent sub-sags,i.e.,the Wenchang sub-sags A,B,and C,on the downthrown side of the Zhu IlI South Fault in the Wenchang Sag,are significant as they affect the formation and distribution of the oil and gas in these three sub-sags.However,the differences in their tectonic evolutions and formation mechanisms have not yet been adequately explained. In this paper, stress analysis, equilibrium profiles, and paleogeomorphic restora-tion,are used to investigate the dynamic settings, formation mechanisms, and influencing factors of the structural deformation related to the formation of the Wenchang Sag based on interpretation of seismic data. The results of the stress analysis suggest clockwise deflection of the regional tensile stress direction from a WNW-ESE trend during the Early Paleocene to NW-SE and NNW-SSE trends during the Eocene,to a nearly N-S trend during the Oligocene, and finally to a NNE-SSW trend during the Miocene. This clockwise rotation of the regional tensile stress direction led to the formation of a dextral strike-slip stress component parallel to the NE-trending Zhu I South Fault. This strike-slip stress component formed a releasing bend in sub-sag A,and may be associated with the continuous subsidence of a thick sedimentary layer in sub-sag A.It also created a restraining bend in sub-sag B,which underwent multiple structural inversions during its extension and subsidence and has a relatively s mall sedimentary thick-ness.The double restraining bend in sub-sag C is considered to have been strongly uplifted and eroded in response to this strike-slip stress component.Four obvious structural inversions in sub-sag B are iden-tified in this paper. These structural inversions correspond to the last four regional tectonic movements. This interpretation suggests that the formation of the structural inversions was likely related to the strong tensile stress and the small intersection angle between the direction of the regional tensile stress and the pre-existing boundary fault. The rotation of the tensile stress direction was responsible for the strike-slip movement on the pre-existing boundary fault and the formation of the releasing bend and restraining bend, which controlled the structural evolutions of the sub-sags.This reasonably explains the differential tectonic evolution of these three sub-sags in the Wenchang Sag,and provides a crucial idea forstructuralanalysisof similarbasins.

文摘High resoultion Eulerian mean velocity field has been derived by combining the satellite tracked surface drifter data with satellite altimetry and ocean surface winds. Periodic modulations are found in the eddy kinetic energy due the low frequency Antarctic Circumpolar Wave propagation.

文摘A dedicated GPS buoy is designed for calibration and validation(Cal/Val)of satellite altimeters since 2014.In order to evaluate the accuracy of the sea surface height(SSH)measured by the GPS buoy, twelve campaigns have been done within China sea area between 2014 and 2021.In six of these campaigns, two static Global Navigation Satellite System stations were installed at distances of<1 km and 19 km from the buoy to assess how the baseline length influenced the derived SSH from the buoy solutions. The GPS buoy data was processed using the GAMIT/GLOBK software+TRACK module and CSRS-PPP tool to achieve the SSH.The SSH was compared with conventionally tide gauge(TG)data to evaluate the accuracy of the buoy with the standard deviation of the height element. The results showed that the difference in the standard deviation of the SSH from the buoy and the TG was less than 16 mm.The SSHs processed with different ephemeris(Ultra-Rapid,Rapid,Final)were not significantly different. When the baseline length was 19 km,the SSH solution of the GPS buoy performed well, with standard bias of less than 26 mm between the heights measured by the buoy and TG,meaning that the buoy could be used for Cal/Val of altimeters. The bias between the Canadian Spatial Reference System-precise point positioning tool and the TRACK varied a lot,and some of them were over 130 mm.This deemed too high to be useful for Cal/Val of satellite altimeters. Moreover, the GPS buoy solutions processed by GAMIT/GLOBK software+TRACK module were used for in-orbit Cal/Val of HY-2B/C satellites in ten campaigns. The SSH and significant wave height of the altimeters showed good agreements with the GPS buoy solutions.

文摘Cusp spot,High Latitude Dayside aurora(HiLDA),‘space hurricane’,and 15MLT-PCA(Polar Cap Arc observed around 15:00 Magnetic Local Time)are mesoscale auroral structures observed in the polar cap region. They share many common properties and,at the same time, have notable differences.A 15MLT-PCA is a polar cap arc connected to the auroral oval, but the others are auroral spots detached from the oval.A cusp spot differs from a HiLDA in local time location.A space hurricane differs from a HiLDA in having spiral-arm structures.Until now, relationships among these auroras have not been depicted clearly. Here we propose a unified model, based on lobe reconnection, that encompasses their similarities and differences. We then provide critical supporting evidence for the model. The model suggests that different reconnection sites under different IMF conditions result in these differently-appearing auroral forms. The model explains all the characteristic features of these auroras and has implications for understanding the dawn/dusk and inter-hemispheric asymmetries observed in their occurrence patterns. We anticipate confirmation of the model by observations to be made during the Solar wind-Magnetosphere-Ionosphere Link Explorer(SMILE)mission. Moreover, since the model indicates that these auroras appear on the footprint of the poleward cusp boundary,we expect data from the SMILE mission to make it possible to estimate the approximate shape of the cusp.

文摘Compared with the traditional wind turbine of a single rotor,dual-rotor wind turbines(DRWTs)have higher wind energy capture efficiency and a more complex structure. Therefore, the aerodynamic performance of the DRWT installed on the floating platform will be greatly affected by the motion caused by wind and wave loads. In this paper,5 MW and 750 kW single rotor wind turbines(SRWTs)are combined into a 5 MW-5 MW DRWT and a 5 MW-750 kW DRWT,and their power output and wake field characteristics in different motions are studied. The flow field is obtained by solving the Reynolds-averaged Navier–Stokes equation(RANS).The overset grid technique is employed to achieve the large-amplitude multiple-degree-of-freedom motion of the DRWT.The overall performance of the 5 MW single rotor wind turbine is determined by a numerical method. For the DRWTs,numerical results show that the surge motion and heave motion both have a negative effect on the power output of the DRWT.The surge motion is a critical factor that causes the power output of the DRWT to periodically change with motion. The average power output of the DRWT influenced by motion is lower than that of a DRWT with a fixed bottom. The surge motion significantly disturbs the wake of the DRWT due to the mutual interference between the upstream and downstream rotors.Under the influence of heave motion,low-velocity regions downstream of the blade tip are enhanced. This study indicates that attenuating the surge and heave motion of offshore DRWT is very significant for improving its efficiency and should be taken into consideration during the design procedure.

文摘To obtain the interaction characteristics between Internal solitary waves(ISWs)and submerged bodies,a three-dimensional numerical model for simulating ISWs was established in the present study based on the RANS equation. The velocity entrance method was adopted to generate the ISWs.First, the reliability of this numerical model was validated by comparing it with theoretical and literature results. Then, the influence of environmental and navigation parameters on interactions between ISWs and a fixed SUBOFF-submerged body was studied.According to research, the hydrodynamic performance of the submerged body has been significantly impacted by the ISWs when the body is nearing the central region of the wave.Besides, the pitching moment(y')will predominate when the body encounters the ISWs at a certain angle between 0°and 180°,and the lateral force is larger than the horizontal force.Additionally, the magnitude of the force acting on the body is mostly affected by the wave amplitude. The variation of the vertical force is the main way that ISWs affect the hydrodynamic performance of the bodies. The investigations and findings discussed above can serve as a guide to forecast how ISWs will interact with submerged bodies.

文摘The morphological changes of deep-water channels have an important influence on the distributions of channel sand reservoirs,so it is important to explore the morphological change process of deep-water channel for the exploration and development of deep-water oil and gas.Based on a typical sinuous Quaternary channel(Channel I)in the Taranaki Basin,New Zealand,a variety of seismic interpretation techniques were applied to quantitatively characterize the morphological characteristics of the Channel I,and the relationships between the quantitative parameters and the morphological changes of the Channel I,as well as the controlling factors affecting those morphological changes, were discussed. The results are as follows:(1)in the quantitative analysis, six parameters were selected:the channel depth, width, sinuosity, and aspect ratio(width/depth),the channel swing amplitude(λ)and the channel bend frequency(ω);(2)according to the quantitative morphological parameters of the channel(mainly including three parameters such as channel sinuosity,ωandλ),the Channel I was divided into three types:the low-sinuous channel(LSC),the high-sinuous channel(HSC),the moderate-sinuous channel(MSC).U-shaped channel cross-sections developed in the LSC,V-shaped channel cross-sections developed in the HSC,including inclined-V and symmetric-V cross-sections,and dish-shaped channel cross-sections developed in the MSC;(3)the morphological characteristics of the LSC and MSC were related to their widths and depths, while the morphology of the HSC was greatly affected by the channel width,a change in depth did not affect the HSC morphology;(4)the morphological changes of the Channel I were controlled mainly by the slope gradient, the restricted capacity of the channel and the differential in fluid properties.

文摘Petrogenesis of lacustrine dolostone is closely related with paleo-lake water conditions. Here we report the high spatial-resolution petrographic and geochemical results of a lacustrine dolomite nodule from the Qingshankou Formation, the Songliao Basin.Sedimentary and elemental signatures confirm the protogenetic origin of this nodule and its effectiveness in recording geochemical characteristics of paleo-lake water during dolomitization. The low Y/Ho ratios, middle rare earth element(MREE)enrichment and subtle positive Eu anomalies within the nodule indicate a fresh water source. However, the Sr isotope values in the core of the nodule(0.7076-0.7080)are close to contemporaneous seawater(0.7074),yet different from the modern river(0.7120)and the host black shale(0.7100).On the premise of excluding the influence of hydrothermal fluids, the significantly low strontium isotope values of the lacustrine dolomite might be caused by seawater interference during dolomitization. Our findings demonstrate that lacustrine dolomite within black shales is not only a faithful tracer of diagenetic water environment, but also a novel and easily identified mineralogical evidence for episodic seawater intrusion event(91 Ma)in the Songliao Basin, which supplements other paleontological and geochemical evidence.

文摘Deep-water channel systems are important petroleum reservoirs, and many have been discovered worldwide.Understanding deep-water channel sedimentary elements and evolution is helpful for deep-sea petroleum exploration and development.Based on high-resolution 3D seismic data, the Miocene channel system in the deep-water Taranaki Basin,New Zealand, was analyzed by using seismic interpretation techniques such as interlayer attribute extraction and strata slicing. The channel system was divided into five composite channels(CC-I to CC-V)according to four secondary level channel boundaries, and sedimentary elements such as channels, slump deposits, inner levees, mass transport deposits, and hemipelagic drape deposits were identified in the channel system. The morphological characteristics of several composite channels exhibited stark variances, and the overall morphology of the composite channels changed from relatively straight to highly sinuous to relatively straight. The evolution of the composite channels involved a gradual and repeated process of erosion and filling, and the composite channels could be divided into three evolutionary stages:initial erosion-filling,later erosion-filling(multistage),and channel abandonment. The middle Miocene channel system may have formed as a consequence of combined regional tectonic activity and global climatic change, and its intricate morphological alterations may have been influenced by the channel's ability to self-regulate and gravity flow properties. When studying the sedimentary evolution of a large-scale deep-water channel system in the Taranaki Basin during the Oligocene-Miocene,which transitioned from a passive margin to plate convergence,it can be understood how tectonic activity affected the channel and can also provide a theoretical reference for the evolution of the deepwater channels in areas with similar tectonic conversion environments around the world.
