However, it is unclear whether these inputs are subsequently conveyed to the hypothalamic paraventricular nucleus and what kind of afferent fibers are involved. We focused on the upper cervical cord, where afferent inputs converge, and detected c-fos expression in oxytocinergic neurons. We found that Zusanli acupuncture therapy effectively elevated intragastric pressure, but inhibited expression of c-fos in oxytocinergic neurons of the paraventricular nucleus in upper cervical cord injured rats. These Zusanli acupuncture effects remained even after complete dorsal cord transection. However, after complete transection of the spinal cord or dorsolateral funiculus, the effects were significantly attenuated and even disappeared. These findings suggest that the paraventricular nucleus is responsible for pooling and integrating signals from the Zusanli acupuncture and sensory information from the intragastric pressure variation, thereby contributing to the regulation of intragastric pressure. The upper cervical cord serves as the key link between ascending and descending pathways, which conveys afferent inputs to the paraventricular nucleus through the dorsolateral funiculus.展开更多

文摘Objective:To explore the feasibility of five tones combined with electro-acupuncture for drug rehabilitation. Methods:Search and screen the literature related to drug rehabilitation with musical electrico-acupuncture in PubMed,CNKI,CQVIP and Wanfang data to May 2019,and summarize and analyze the literature. Results:Either music therapy or acupuncture therapy has therapeutic responses respectively, and the combined use of both is more effective than the single-use.Conclusion:The combination of five tones and acupuncture is highly feasible for drug rehabilitation.
文摘Background:Guillain-Barré syndrome (GBS) is an acute demyelinating polyneuritis in which the immune system attacks part of the peripheral nervous system.About two-thirds of GBS patients have a history of acute infection before developing GBS.Immunotherapy and supportive therapies are widely used to treat GBS;however, one in three patients experiences neurologic sequelae. In China,acupuncture-moxibustion has shown unique benefits for the treatment of neurological diseases and has a wide range of applications in neurology.Case presentation:We treated an elderly Russian female patient diagnosed with GBS.The chief complaints were upper limb weakness, lower limb paralysis, and inability to self-care.The traditional Chinese medicine diagnosis was flaccidity syndrome (Wei Zheng). After 5 weeks of acupuncture and moxibustion combined with Chinese patent medicine treatment, the patient's limb muscle strength was significantly improved and her ability to self-care was largely restored. Conclusion:The present findings demonstrated that acupuncture and moxibustion combined with Chinese patent medicine can alleviate muscle weakness caused by GBS.However, clinical randomized controlled trials are warranted to verify the precise clinical efficacy.

文摘Positive activation and negative activation of glucose metabolism can be detected in different brain regions under acupuncture conditions using functional magnetic resonance imaging(fMRI) which reveals acupoint function and location-acupoint specificity. This study observed the regional cerebral activation of the Waiguan(SJ 5) acupoint following true needling at the true Waiguan acupoint, sham needling at the true Waiguan acupoint and true needling at a sham point using fMRI.The fMRI results demonstrated that compared with sham needling, true needling at Waiguan activated the BA8 area and left cerebellum.Compared with needling at the sham point, needling at Waiguan activated the BA2 area, the left cerebellum and the right inferior semilunar lobule. Thus the activated brain areas caused by needling Waiguan may be the basis for treatment of certain diseases.

文摘Acupoint combination is a method used for acupoint treatment of patients.Traditionally, acupoints are matched along the meridian distribution, which is a common rule in clinical practice, but the underlying mechanism remains unclear.Cerebral scans with functional magnetic resonance imaging(fMRI) have been used in the study of acupuncture and acupoint specifically. In this study,fMRI was used to detect the activation of the brain areas under different acupoints, matched along different meridians,to elucidate the acupoint combination via a modern medical approach.Forty healthy volunteers were randomly divided into the following groups:Waiguan point(SJ 5),Waiguan(SJ 5) + Zhigou(SJ 6)(2 acupoints come from the same meridian),Waiguan(SJ 5) + Neiguan(PC 6)(2 acupoints come from 2 meridians with the relationship of interior-exterior),Waiguan(SJ 5) + Yanglingquan(GB 34)(2 acupoints come from 2 meridians with the same name-Shaoyang Meridian),and sham point groups(needling in different points on the right hand).A real-time cerebral fMRI scan was simultaneously performed. The cerebral activation rate, and the number and strength of different regions of interest were compared among the groups. The fMRI cerebral imaging confirmed that there were some differences in the activation of cerebral areas by the needlings in SJ 5,and in combination with other acupoints.Needling at SJ 5 alone greatly activated the right cerebellum, while needling at both SJ 5 and different co-needling points activated different cerebral functional areas.
