Induction brazecoating technology is an important means to improve the surface properties of materials.In this paper,copper plate and corundum are selected as substrates for induction brazecoating respectively.The temperature variation of powder and paste coating is systematically studied,and the heat conduction mode and path in the brazecoating process are analyzed.The results show that rise of the coating temperature mainly depends on the heat absorption from the substrate.The liquid-solid interface conducts heat violently and advances step by step,which promotes the melting spread of metal filler metal.The powdery brazecoating material is in a free state,and there is a gas insulation film between the powder particles and the diamond,making it difficult for substrate to conduct heat to the coating.The binder not only assists forming,shell making and oxygen isolation,but also plays an important role during melting. 展开更多

Phase field simulation of grain refinement in silver-based filler metal

Numerical simulation is one of the important auxiliary methods for studying materials-related problems. In this study, phase field simulation was employed to investigate the refinement behavior of BAg55CuZn-x B brazing alloys. Simulation and experimental studies were conducted for B contents ranging from 0 wt.% to 0.2 wt.%. The results demonstrated that the addition of 0.05 wt.% B in the brazing alloy leads to a significant refinement effect. As the B content increases, the grain size further reduces, and a refinement stagnation phenomenon occurs after exceeding 0.15 wt.%. The solidification process of brazing alloys with different B content was predicted by simulation, and the simulation results showed that with the increase of B content, the initial number of nucleation increased, and the radius of the dendrite tip decreased. The simulation results are in good agreement with the experimental findings, providing further evidence of the refining effect of the B element and the reliable predictive capability of the phase field model. 展开更多

The finite element analysis (FEA) software Ansys was employed to study the stress state of the dies of both plane and non-plane parting face structures with uniform interference and the die of plane parting face structure with non-uniform interference. Considering the symmetry of the die, a half gear tooth model of the two-ring assembled die with 2.5 GPa inner pressure was constructed. Four paths were defined to investigate the stress state at the bottom corner of the die where stress concentration was serious. FEA results show that the change of parting face from non-plane to plane can greatly reduce the stress at the teeth tips of the die so that the tip fracture is avoided. The interference structure of the die is the most important influencing factor for the stress concentration at the bottom corner. When non-uniform interference is adopted the first principal stress at the corner on the defined paths of the die is much lower than that with uniform interference. The bottom hole radius is another important influencing factor for the corner stress concentration. The first principal stress at the corner of the plane parting face die with non-uniform interference is reduced from 2.3 to 1.9 GPa when the hole radius increases from 12.5 to 16.0 mm. The optimization of the die structure increases the life of the die from 100 to 6 000 hits. 展开更多

Wear resistance of Zr/WC composite coatings on Cr12MoV steel surface by electric spark deposition 被引量:6

Zr/WC composite coating was prepared on the surface of Cr12MoV steel by electric spark deposition technology to change its surface properties. The surface and worn surface morphology of the coating were observed using scanning electron microscope. Dry friction and wear tests of the coatings were carried out at room temperature. The results show that the coating is continuous and uniform, and the thickness was about 50-60 μm. The microhardness of the coating surface was highest at 1140 HV_(200g), which was significantly higher than that of the substrate. The ear tests results show that the wear weight loss, wear volume and wear rate follow the following rules: Cr12MoV>WC coating> Zr/WC composite coating. 展开更多

The slag-free self-shielded flux-cored wire was fabricated to apply for the narrow gap welding.The results showed that narrow gap welding shows lower welding spatter compared with hardfacing except under voltage of 30 V and current of 260 A.The deposition efficiency keeps over 90%for both 12 mm and 8 mm narrow gap welding.For 12 mm narrow gap welding,when the voltage is 28 V and the current is 264 A(or 286 A),no pores are found in the narrow gap weld.In the continuous welding process,manganese vapor,aluminum vapor and CO continuously generate to form gasbag and occupy the narrow gap space,thus protecting the droplet and molten pool from the invasion of air. 展开更多

Effect of post-welding heat treatment on the microstructure and properties of BNi-2 brazing coating was analyzed. The phase transformation in the heat treatment process was analyzed by high temperature metallographic microscope, scanning electron microscope and X-ray diffraction, and the microhardness after the post heat treatment was tested by microhardness tester. The results show that the microstructure of brazing BNi-2 brazing coating is mainly CrB phase, Ni solid solution phase and eutectic phase of Ni_(3)B and Ni_(3)Si. After brazing,the overall hardness value is higher, generally higher than 510 HV, and the microhardness in some areas is higher than 700 HV. After quenching, the solid solution phase of Ni increased, and the eutectic phase of Ni and Ni_(3)Si decreased, leading to the softening of the brazing coating, the area whose microhardness in the range of 342 HV–454 HV increased. After tempering the brazed coating samples, the eutectic phases of Ni and Ni_(3)Si grew and the hardness recovered, but the overall hardness distribution was still lower than the brazing one. The results of the brazing post-heat treatment test show that the post-welding heat treatment will bring adverse effects on the hardness distribution of the coating, which may affect the wear resistance of the coating. 展开更多

In the experiment,SnZn/Cu samples are left in laboratory after reflow soldering for two years before an examination by SEM,then ZnO whiskers can be observed obviously,which grows out from the rich-Zn phase of the samples and causes electrical short circuit in the electronics appliances,which demonstrates that the SnZn solder shows a risk for the short circuiting failure of an electronic device. Moreover,the growth mechanism of ZnO whiskers is researched based on cracked oxide theory,which provides the reference support for SnZn solders application. 展开更多

The nickel-based coating with different TiC addition was fabricated onto 45 steel substrate by using induction brazed technology in air.The effect of TiC addition on the microstructure and wear resistance of induction brazing coating was studied.The results show that the microstructure of brazing coating is strengthened and refined by adding TiC.With the increase of the amount of TiC added,the amount of TiC in the Ni-based matrix is increased,and the matrix structure is obviously refined.This is because the high melting point TiC particles can be used as heterogeneous nucleation cores,thus refining the Ni based matrix structure.Moreover,the wear resistance of brazing coating is improved due to the addition of TiC. 展开更多

Graphene/aluminum(Gr/Al)composites have attracted the attention of researchers all over the world due to their excellent properties.However,graphene agglomerates easily because of the van der Waals force between graphite sheets,thereby affecting the performance of the composites.Decreasing the agglomeration of graphene and dispersing it uniformly in the Al matrix is a key challenge.In the preparation process,predispersion treatment and deformation treatment can play important roles in graphene dispersion.Researchers have conducted a series of research and literature reviews of the graphene predispersion and consolidation of composites.However,they paid less attention to post-deformation processing.This review summarizes different deformation treatments involved in the preparation process of Gr/Al composites and the evolution of the microstructure during the process.Research on deformation parameters is expected to further improve the properties of Gr/Al composites and would provide a deep understanding of the strengthening effect of graphene. 展开更多

The thermo-mechanical reliability of IMCs(Ni_(3)Sn_(4),Cu_(3)Sn,Cu_(6)Sn_(5))solder joints and Sn-3.9Ag-0.6Cu solder joints was investigated systematically in 3D chip stacking structure subjected to an accelerated thermal cyclic loading based on finite element simulation and Taguchi method.Effects of different control factors,including high temperature,low temperature,dwell time of thermal cyclic loading,and different IMCs on the stress-strain response and fatigue life of solder joints were calculated respectively.The results indicate that maximum stress-strain can be found in the second solder joint on the diagonal of IMC solder joints array;for Sn-3.9Ag-0.6Cu solder joints array,the corner solder joints show the obvious maximum stress-strain,these areas are the crack propagated locations.The stress-strain and fatigue life of solder joints is more sensitive to dwell temperature,especially to high temperature;increasing the high temperature,dwell time,or decreasing the low temperature,can reduce the stress-strain and enlarge the fatigue life of solder joints.Finally,the optimal design in the 3D-IC structure has the combination of the Cu_(6)Sn_(5)/Cu_(3)Sn,373 K high temperature,233 K low temperature,and 10 min dwell time.The fatigue lives of Sn-3.9Ag-0.6Cu under 218-398 K loading in the 3D assembly based on the creep strain are 347.4 cycles,which is in good agreement with experimental results(380 cycles). 展开更多

A numerical simulation of contact stress for non-circular gears has also been conducted based on the finite element method. This study investigated the atomic-scale deformation mechanism of multiphase CoCrFeNi high-entropy alloys(HEAs)at liquid helium,liquid nitrogen,and room temperatures.A million-atom multiphase HEA was prepared using molecular dynamics simulation involving melt and quench processes.The HEA exhibited high-density dislocations and some twins,consistent with experimental observations.Quantitative analysis revealed an inconsistent evolution of the microstructure under tensile deformation.In particular,the elastic and initial plastic stages exhibited an increase in the disordered structure at the expense of the face-centered cubic and hexagonal close-packed structures,followed by a subsequent transformation involving multiple structural rearrangements.Furthermore,through sparse identification,a model depicting microstructural evolution during tension was extracted for the CoCrFeNi HEA at three typical temperatures and three tensile rates.The model highlighted the importance of the body-centered cubic structure in the evolutionary process. 展开更多

For the purpose of high-temperature service and the weight reduction in aviation engineering applications, the dissimilar joining of Ti3Al-based alloy to Ni-based superalloy (GH536) was conducted using Au-17.5Ni (wt%) brazing filler metal. The microstructure and chemical composition at the interfaces were investigated by scanning electron microscope, X-ray diffraction and transmission electron microscope. The diffusion behaviors of elements were analyzed as well. The results indicated that the Ti3Al/GH536 joint microstructure was characterized by multiple layer structures. Element Ni from Au-Ni filler metal reacted with Ti3Al base metal, leading to the formation of AlNi2Ti and NiTi compounds. Element Ni from Ti3Al base metal reacted with Ni and thus Ni3Nb phase was detected in the joint central area. Due to the dissolution of Ni-based superalloy,(Ni,Au) solid solution ((Ni,Au)ss) and Ni-rich phase were visible adjacent to the superalloy side. The average tensile strength of all the joints brazed at 1253 K for 5-20 min was above 356 MPa at room-temperature. In particular, the joints brazed at 1253 K/15 min presented the maximum tensile strength of434 MPa at room-temperature, and the strength of 314 MPa was maintained at 923 K. AlNi2Ti compound resulted in the highest hardness area and the fracture of the samples subjected to the tensile test mainly occurred in this zone. 展开更多

Reliable Si C/Sn-Ti/Si C joints were obtained by brazing(950?C/10 min)and soldering(250?C/2 min)following premetallization depend on the wettability of Sn-Ti on Si C.The microstructures of Sn-Ti/Si C interface were characterized by scanning electron microscopy,X-ray diffraction and transmission electron microscopy,and the mechanical properties of joints were evaluated by shear tests.Active Ti enhanced the wettability of Sn on Si C with the decrease of contact angle from 150?to 20?.Ti direct reacted with Si C to produce Ti C and combines with released Si forming Ti5Si3.Much lower Ti concentration per contacting area in brazing and metallization,compared to wetting,resulted in defective bonding of Sn-Ti/Si C and few amounts of interfacial products(thin Ti C layer or partial covered Ti C layer with Ti5Si3).All of the Si C/Si C joints possess a similar shear strength of 27–32 MPa and rupture through?-Sn matrix in ductile fracture. 展开更多

A novel ultrasonic-assisted low-temperature soldering was developed to join AZ31B Mg alloy and 6061 Al alloy with a series of Sn–x Zn solders. The average maximum shear strength of the joints reaches up to 87.5 MPa at soldering temperature of 300 °C under ultrasonic assistance for only 5 s using Sn–20 Zn solder. The fracture path propagates completely in the soldering seam. The results indicate that the microjet generated by ultrasonic pressure in liquid solder could strike and splinter the Mg_2Sn intermetallic compounds into small pieces, which contributes to the enhancement of the joint strength. In addition, the primary Al(Zn) solid solution phase formed during cooling stage could also strengthen the joint due to the prevention of microcracks propagation. 展开更多

In this paper,a new machine learning(ML)model combining conditional generative adversarial networks(CGANs)and active learning(AL)is proposed to predict the body-centered cubic(BCC)phase,face-centered cubic(FCC)phase,and BCC+FCC phase of high-entropy alloys(HEAs).Considering the lack of data,CGANs are introduced for data augmentation,and AL can achieve high prediction accuracy under a small sample size owing to its special sample selection strategy.Therefore,we propose an ML framework combining CGAN and AL to predict the phase of HEAs.The arithmetic optimization algorithm(AOA)is introduced to improve the artificial neural network(ANN).AOA can overcome the problem of falling into the locally optimal solution for the ANN and reduce the number of training iterations.The AOA-optimized ANN model trained by the AL sample selection strategy achieved high prediction accuracy on the test set.To improve the performance and interpretability of the model,domain knowledge is incorporated into the feature selection.Additionally,considering that the proposed method can alleviate the problem caused by the shortage of experimental data,it can be applied to predictions based on small datasets in other fields. 展开更多
